I've been reprimanded for "stealing bandwidth" and told to use a free image uploading service when using A) my own website B) The Ninja Turtle wiki (for which I'm the lead admin) and C) Imgur, which is specifically made for image uploading.

In 2016 most hosting plans outside of poverty packages allow generous bandwidth anyway.

And, I only do that to ensure the longevity of the post for people who browse the old threads. Normally third party websites won't keep the picture for another few months and will have to clear some stuff for the sake of having clean servers so that's why I re-host all of the pictures I post on this website. Plus, it's an OCD thing.

Also, thanks for making the archives in general. Your website has been extremely helpful and I just thought that I'd show my appreciation since I don't see a lot of people doing so.

Its all good, you can do whatever you want to with any image on there. I also hate going through old threads and having half the images missing. That's actually one of the reasons I started the Archive. I intentionally got a service that allowed for unlimited space so I wouldn't have to pick and choose what I wanted to save so if any images I have posted start disappearing that means I'm dead :). Thanks for the kind words, I'm glad it has been helpful.

CCC.

ditto this but I hate photobucket with a passion equal to a billion stars going supernova at the same time. Plus my employer seems to thing all photo sharing sites are anti-productive so they are all blocked. So if I'm purusing toy forums during work (which is common) I don't get to see any images from Photobucket or Imgur.

That's why you should stick with the two best image hosting websites, Imgur or Photobucket. Unfortunately, every now and then those websites malfunction and your pictures get deleted. This just happened with the photos from my Flash posts which really sucks because I put a lot of effort into them despite their low quality.

I really hate it when I look through some old posts and the picture's are deleted. That damn Photobucket cat that serves as a placeholder for deleted pictures haunts me.

Photobucket is the worst. Photobucket makes you go to their site to view the larger ones. I pity the people who do not have an Adblocker then.
Imgur is better but they have a limit of how many photos you can have. If you go over that limit they just archive the oldest ones. That disconnects them from everywhere.

You also can't just save an image from photobucket. you have to go to their freaking terrible site and click their stupid "download" button otherwise it will be corrupt and unviewable.

That seems sketchy...

Maybe they just don't like you. I don't think they have blocked any of the images I've linked directly.
My hosting has unlimited storage and usage. I think it runs me about $10 a month or so. I pay for 2 years at a time so I don't recall exactly what I paid and I'm too lazy to look it up but it's worth it since I think I'm at about 10GB right now with just figure pictures.

and to keep this on the subject of DC appreciation.

@Kamatayan That Bruce Wayne head on the Chameleon suit looks perfect.

@neatogecko I'm loving all your crossover images. They are great.

It's because TA doesn't like to "hotlink" is what is called. We're fine with embedding. Not that we don't like Ninjinister, we got love for all Arker's that respect the rules here. Very nice images though! Keep up the great work.

I was just joking about no liking him.

I guess I thought what I was doing with my site was hot-linking. I guess I'm not sure what the difference is.

Thanks! It looks great. The only downside is that the green hands and feet don't look like gloves and boots.

Yeah to get the full effect some painting would be needed.

They kind of look like that. Maybe small nails? I'll see if I can find out.

Like Archivist said, I'm assuming they're small nails.

I used the Head and Cape from the DCIH Specter and used the old Moon Knight buck as the base. I removed the Crescent symbol. Didn't add Green boots or gloves bc I didn't like the look of either.

Wow, that looks way better. I might use this formula. Definitely gonna have to change the buck though. That early MU mold looks weird.

Kamatayan 08-18-2016 12:09 PM

Unfortunately, the guy who I asked to make the black robe for my Ra's Al Ghul custom told me it was too hard to do it for figures in the 3.75" scale so I had to resort to getting a Darth Malgus for the cloak. I already have a Malgus so on the bright side, it makes for really good trade fodder.

What sword(s) do you think I should use? I was thinking about the MKX 3.75" Scorpion swords.

Just saw the teaser for Return of the Caped Crusaders. Despite Adam West sounding ready to drop dead in the recording booth, I'm excited for it. It's also reminding me that I still need to pick up that 66 Batman Multiverse figure...

That looks really cool. I hope they do some really cool stuff that they weren't able to do before because of the limited resources of their time. Batman going to space sure seems like it's gonna be cool. Hopefully they won't make it so campy while still maintaining the vibe of the original show.

Overall, I'm really excited for it.

Kamatayan 08-18-2016 02:46 PM

Just found out about these guys. I'm looking for all of the DCIH figures with this kind of articulation. I'm gonna have to get them now. Captain Atom is a definite must.

They do but they are smaller. The Specter head is the smallest in the DCIH line I think and it is not usable without the hood (as it looks like a Zika kid otherwise - poor taste I know, I just don't think I have a better reference).

As such the smaller buck works. I tried it on just about any other buck and the tiny head just didn't work.

LordMudd 08-18-2016 04:51 PM

Major Force had a lot of issues with breakage. I had to return 2 myself.

CCC.

Thanks! So besides, this the Public Enemy figures and the SDCC Starro set figures are these the only DCIH figures with that kind of articulation?

Wow, that looks a lot better. I was expecting that it wouldn't have looked as good if the picture was clearer, but wow, you really worked hard on not making any slips on the paint. That is just superb.

Why don't all of your pictures have such good quality?

That's too bad. And it's okay, with the reference. I might just change the head for the Spectre all together, anyways.

Damn, that sucks. I'm still gonna try to find a good one though. I'm trying to get my hands on anything decent in terms of 3.75" DC figures. Not saying the other DCIH figures aren't good but they aren't really my style. I'm used to stuff that have articulation close to the MU figures.
