I wish I could get myself to fall in love with Scorpion, because he's not a bad figure by any stretch.

But for me, Scorpion will always be the version that they used in the 90s animated series:
https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/...7897698769.PNG

So it's hard for me to get behind the low-contrast, gimp-mask-esque version that's getting released. Which sucks, because I am a HUGE sucker for green, but that big blob of solid green ain't working for me.

I didn't love it but I did enjoy it. It helps that I saw it in a theater with fully reclining seats. I tell you a nice theater can make an enjoyable experience out of the shittiest movie.

Also, that Quicksilver mansion rescue scene was nearly worth the ticket price alone. I still watch the scene on Youtube to this day.

That is amazing! I have no real love for the Wendingo character but I'd be tempted to pick him up if he looked like that.

This set bugs me because I only want Kraven's rifle. I know the set will eventually go to $12 on clearance but can I justify paying $12 just for a rifle?

Yeah, it saddens me to see such a great figure and decent character clog the pegs. On a related note, am I crazy or are we seeing a resurgence of the Cull Obsidian wave? It seems like Targets and Walmarts in my area couldn't get the Endgame wave and ordered the Cull Obsidian wave as a substitute.

True dat. I dabble in imports occasionally and I often feel like I paid too much for a chunk of plastic. Granted imports usually have better articulation but their finickiness and fragility sometimes takes the fun out of owning them.

So I came across a custom comic Grandmaster. It wasn't great but I'm interested because I don't think Hasbro will give us a comic Grandmaster since the MCU version is on the horizon. Do you think Hasbro is willing to give us comic versions of characters that already have an MCU figure? Any precedent for this? The only character I can think of is Elektra (Netflix may not be in the MCU but it's still live action).

oh the new one is definitely a decent figure. And great for those that didn't have one. It's just we're getting options now...so we can be a lil' pickier..

Other than Sersi I really wouldn't have an interest in any of them, even Starfox. He's always been a cringeworthy, creepy character for me.

Starfox may be my least favorite Avenger. It’s a woeful combination of a silly costume, a shit-eating grin, and the fact that he’s useless, and that no writer has ever bothered to make him cool or interesting, let alone compelling. Alternatively, if the figure came with a mouthless head from Infinity Gauntlet, I’d still buy one. Some of the other Eternals could make for good action figures... a Jack Kirby styled Ikaris or Ajak would be neat, and a Celestial as a BAF would probably look fantastic (if they scaled it right).

Although if he was here, I'm sure a certain someone would dispute it, but I think that the MCU Legends released over the last 2 years look better than 75 percent of the stuff coming out of Figuarts, with their Iron Man figures being the lone exceptions. Those things are works of art.

This is gonna sound sour...but absolutely nothing. Unless it says Excaliber/Fantastic 4/X-Men/Spider-Man in the title, I have very little interest in what lies ahead for Phase 4...or whatever phase the MCU is in at the moment.

Eternals might be a surprise like GotG, or it could be something middling that underperforms. They all can't be winners, and Marvel/Disney has to be careful going forward because with the Avengers taking some time off, casual fans might not be as engaged as they were with these very unfamiliar batch of characters they are bringing to the big screen...especially with the expectations and hype of getting muties in the very near future.

They will need to establish the next big baddie/arc going forward quickly, because I know a lot of people who were seeing the films just to see how they all fit into a part of the Infinity Gauntlet narrative and I'm sure many others out there were as well (myself included.) With the slate "snapped clean," it will become a tougher sell if the don't begin setting things up immediately after the credits roll on whatever the first film will be.

Not sure if I understand the question being asked...do you mean characters released as MCU versions before getting their comic counterparts?

I honestly couldn't see why not though. They've been doing it in reverse with the comic versions having MCU follow ups (Shuri, Klaw and Mysterio immediately come to mind) so I don't see why we wouldn't see a comic Mandarin, Yondu, Grandmaster, Killmonger, or Executioner come down the pipe.

That doesn't sound sour at all, that's cautious which is not a bad thing in any way. I think a lot of people are wondering how the post-Endgame MCU is going to go. Spider-Man, BLack Panther and Captain Marvel are going to be sure hits, and perhaps Ant-Man and Dr. Strange. GOTG still has many issues to sort out.

I know they've got a Black Widow, Eternals and Shang-Chi movie in the works, but what seem to be on most everyone's mind is mutants. Unfortunately I read somewhere the Feige said it would be 5 years before the X-men have their movie - which of course wouldn't negate them showing up in other movies. I feel like Phase 4 will keep the universe afloat but only with the purpose of getting to Phase 5, where I'm sure the X-Men will come into prime focus. I'm really hoping we can get a Moon Knight movie but that doesn't seem to be on the radar really.

Of course, you also have Fantastic Four in there and they may come earlier than that. And they bring two very high profile villains that could easily be the next "big bad" of the MCU: Doom and Kang.

I wish this new Scorpion had the Animated Series' costume. But on the bright side, Hasbro is almost to the point where they'll have to start remaking villains in alternate costumes. So I think there's a chance that we could see Scorpion in this costume in the next few years.

I believe there's also supposed to be another Thor movie after GOTG 3. And I would guess that the Falcon/Winter Soldier series on Disney+ will lead into Captain America 4.

Personally, I think Marvel will keep the X-Men on the shelf longer than most people expect. First and foremost, there needs to be a cool down period of several years. Most fans aren't happy to see a super hero reboot just a few years after the previous film series ended. We've seen this happen twice with Spiderman. And there are several things that Marvel needs to figure out before they can even start filming. How do they introduce mutants? Why would people be afraid of them if people are used to the Avengers running around? Who's on the team? Will they be based in New York or have they been hiding in the Australian Outback (which could explain why we haven't seen them yet)? And those questions are just related to the story. On the production side of the movie, they'll need to redesign the mansion, danger room, Cerebro, and the costumes. Wolverine's mask in particular will be a headache. They'll also need to recast all of the characters.

I think Fantastic Four will arrive before X-Men. I think you'll be hard-pressed to find anyone who has an attachment to the last FF movie, leaving most people to be excited to for a reboot. And like you said, the FF will introduce some heavy hitters to the MCU like Doom and Kang. Although I think the next big bad of the MCU will be Galactus and his herald. If Marvel wants to put more focus on the cosmic with the Eternals, Captain Marvel, and GOTG, then I think Galactus makes more sense. Characters could arrive at a planet to find it destroyed or cross paths with the herald, whether that's Silver Surfer or another.

A properly scaled Celestial would be a costume that you put on when you mess with your figures. Actually that would still be too small.

Agent Anti-Venom is the next exclusive. Heh. I called this repaint coming as soon as this was introduced in the comics.

No its comic. For an all too short time flash was bonded with the anti venom symbiote. Sad cause i loved flash as venom/anti-venom.

If they made a Galactus BAF-sized one, that would suit me. If they made a ten foot tall one, I’d see that as an absolute win.

Wondering if Agent Anti-Venom is a straight repaint since we've gotten a lot more body variety since the original came out...

From what I can tell, it looks to be a straight repaint Agent Venom without any new parts.

Yeah, while I prefer Eddie, Flash's stories as Venom were good and with the death of the Toxin symbiote Anti-Venom was his chance to shine on and instead they killed him like two months later.

The figure's gonna be a pass for me but I'm happy for those that wanted it.
