Why is Hasbro Pulse waiting until mid-July to ship preorders?

Hasbro is offering the chance to get SDCC line passes to Pulse members. If anyone else is going to SDCC and wants to get a shot at getting in to the Hasbro booth I highly recommend signing up

@ everyone..
i just went over my Credit Card purchases from Jan 2017 through now. (i put everything on a card to get the cashback bonus and then pay it off).. i just want to say.. it is downright DISTURBING the amount of money I've spent on toys over the last 2 1/2 to 3 years. i'm mean i love it but... DAMN!!..[/QUOTE] That's why I don't look! Life is short. Make the most of it! I don't live for tomorrow because no one knows what that will bring. I live in the moment and enjoy the ride! Collecting action figures is what makes me smile! I know plenty of people who spend more on bars, strip clubs & casinos. At least I have something to show for it! And after I'm gone my family will go through my stuff and say" Damn he was right! He did have a lot of cool shit!" Seize the day & live every moment like it's your last! Have fun & enjoy life! That's just one mans opinion. |

To chime in on the amount of money being spent on figures, yeah, it's a lot. That was why I decided to mostly skip out on movie figures. I am able to save a bit that way. It's a double help on waves where the BAF is a movie character too. I have been trying very hard to buy my favorite versions of characters so sometimes I can skip on multiple releases of a certain character. For example, in the upcoming Vintage X-Men wave, I'm not getting the Wolverine and I'm on the fence for Cyclops. Cyclops looks awesome, but I have my Jim Lee costume and the Dark Phoenix 2 pack version. That's all I really feel that I need. I don't expect everyone to agree with me, but that's how I try to keep my spending down.
It's a big help that I have a friend who only buys movie figures so when there's a BAF that I want in a movie heavy wave, he hooks me up. I do the same for him when there's a movie version of a BAF in a wave with comic figures. |
See, this is exactly why I've avoided getting a credit card for non-emergency use.
I would fall down the pit SO fast. |
Heads up, guys. Looks like the Family Matters 3-pack on Amazon is in stock and will be shipping early. Mine says it's coming this Sunday.

^ What? OMG. *head explodes* LOL.
But yah... I have definitely spent too much money this summer on Legends because of all the X-stuff coming all at once. And I am still on the hook for the Colossus 2 pack, Night Crawler and Boom Boom and maybe the Vintage wave figures and the rumored stuff. But it doesn't really bother me because I know this is it... this will be the absolutely last chance to have a complete 90's X-men team in action figure form. And it is not like I will be upgrading these figures... these figures have crossed the "good enough" threshold that even if they remake these figures ten years down the line... I won't feel compelled to upgrade them. I am just so glad I never bought any of the earlier Toybiz Legends... those clamshells I mean... almost all those figures are obsolete now and require upgrading to these current Legends. I did buy a bunch of MU though, but my MU X-men will always be special since I doubt Hasbro will ever go back to full articulated 3.75" scale action figures outside of Joes. |

Haven't received word on ours yet, but thanks for the head's up everyone! I've been chomping at the bit for this set since it was first teased!

I agree that the hobby has gotten expensive. When I first started collecting Marvel Legends they were $5.64! Toy collecting used to be a cheap hobby but, the figures coming out these days are worth the extra money. Fact is everything is a lot more expensive than it used to be toys included. For collectors money is the way we keep score. I don't buy something because it's worth money. I buy it because I like it. Sometimes the toy companies overwhelm us because they pump out so much product at once. I do wish they would space it out a little more, but nothing beats the rush I get when I score something I really like. And the years of enjoyment I get from my collection are priceless. The higher prices just make me more selective about the figures I buy. You can't get everything. Even if I had the money I wouldn't have the space! I suppose I could've saved all the money I've spent over the years. I'd have a nice bank account but then I wouldn't have had all the amazing experiences that I've had. Not to mention all the cool people I've met because of my hobby. You can't begin to put a price on the amount of fun I've had collecting. So yes I spend more than I should sometimes but, I don't regret it one bit. In the end it's worth it.

Yeah, this hobby gets crazy expensive and it's especially bad this year with Hasbro releasing the definitive versions of so many characters (and I'm throwing MAFEX in there too for releasing probably the best Spider-Man figure ever).
I would say next year I'd feel more inclined to take the hobby more leisurely, but I get the strong feeling next year we might finally see a DC 6-inch line that doesn't blow. |
kenm2474.........SO the Marvel legends UK place ships to the US? Got any idea what a ballpark might be?? I really would like the Cerebro set and the Ice sled set, but do I just contact them??

My Figma from Amiami got delayed until next month so I'll have a huge bill from them when the July order gets combined. That will definitely cut into my Legends allocation (though I've offset that by buying Legends now that I had planned for July). The hardest part is figuring out which figures will be the rare ones for each wave. For Kingpin, Red Goblin and Silver Sable were rare, though it looks like a second wave of that line came with the Far From Home allotment. For Caliban, it looks like Beast and Jubilee are the hard finds. I've got Shuri, Rescue and War Machine already preordered but I haven't touched the Far From Home wave. |
