I'd support a Galactus, but not much else. If they skipped over Galan, I'd likely boycott the Haslab stuff until they made good...

Hello, everyone. I'm a first-time poster and long-time lurker. I hope that everyone here is doing well and I hope you all had a great weekend.
I'm curious to see what Hasbro will display for their Marvel figures for the San Diego Comic Con, especially for what uniforms the rumored Jean/Scott/Logan X-Men three-pack will be and what the future Spider-Man and vintage/retro toy wave releases will be. These are the figures I hope we get to see the most: - Classic Doctor Doom (he's long, looooong overdue) - Classic Wasp - Classic Doctor Strange - Classic Vulture (with alternate Adrian Toomes and Blackie Drago heads) - Classic Electro (with alternate Max Dillon head) - Classic Green Goblin re-release (with his suit colors repainted brighter, pumpkin bomb accessories and alternate Norman and Harry Osborn heads) - Classic/first appearance Mary Jane Watson - Classic Shocker - Toad - Banshee - Classic suit Avalanche - Pyro - Classic Luke Cage - Crystal - Hobgoblin re-release (with a bigger/better glider, pumpkin bomb accessories and Roderick Kingsley and "shadowy face with red eyes" alternate heads) - "Amazing Friends" era suit Firestar - She-Hulk in her Fantastic Four uniform (maybe as a Walgreens exclusive?) - U.S. Agent - Silver Centurion Iron Man (finally!) - Armani suit/90s era Doctor Octopus with bendy-wire tentacles - X-Factor era suit Havok - X-Factor era suit Polaris - Jim Lee era Gold Team Jean Grey - Jim Lee era Blue Team Cyclops re-release (with removable jacket, new Cyclops head, alternate Scott Summers with ruby-quartz glasses head and red optic blast accessory hopefully included) - Shriek - Demogoblin - Sandman (green-and-yellow Wild Pack/Avengers era suit) - "Heroes Return" Scarlet Witch - Overdrive from "Superior Foes" I would have mentioned First Appearance Storm and classic Beta Ray Bill, but I'd imagine those would be released some time in 2020 since we got recent new figures for them. For Marvel's 80th anniversary, I'd include a Spider-Man/Gwen Stacy/Green Goblin "Death of Gwen Stacy" three-pack and a tuxedo Peter Parker/black costume Spider-Man/wedding gown Mary Jane Watson-Parker for "The Wedding!" I'd also love to see a John Byrne era chainmail Captain America figure that has a smiling face for Cap (as I hate the recent angry faces the figure has come with for the "Cap Wolf" and repainted Retro/Vintage versions), an alternate Steve Rogers head and include his triangular and round shields as accessories, and a Gil Kane/John Romita Sr. era Spider-Man with a wavy-line "spider-sense" accessory, a smiling Peter Parker head and webbing and/or web-rope accessories, since most current Spider-Man figures don't come with them. Most Hasbro figures have been missing calm and/or smiling faces and I'd like to see Hasbro bring those back as at least alternate head choices. It'd also be great to finally own new, non-Build A Figure versions of figures like classic Sandman, the Lizard and classic Rhino and if Hasbro gave new accessories and re-releases for figures that were hard to find the first time around, like classic red suit Daredevil and Spider-Girl with an alternate Mayday Parker head accessory. I'd love to see Hasbro repaint previous Spider-Man figures with brighter suit colors and with all-new accessories, like giving yellow gloves and Quentin Beck and Daniel Berkhart alternate heads for Mysterio, and a new classic Doctor Octopus with new blue sunglasses, brighter suit colors and bendy-wire tentacles this time (those "static" tentacles the 2018 figure came with were terrible). And for the X-Men, I'd especially love to see Beast re-released with a removable lab coat, a new head sculpt and an alternate head of Beast smiling and wearing glasses, and a re-release of the Blue Team/Jim Lee era Rogue figure. For future toy waves, I'd love to see Hasbro release some more toy-lines based on the Fantastic Four, the Incredible Hulk and Iron Man, since it's been a few years since any of them got a new toy-line of their own. Having figures for characters like repainted suits blue-and-white suits for the Fantastic Four, lab coat Bruce Banner with alternate heads (one calm with glasses and the other angry with green eyes to show he's about to "Hulk out"), Gray Hulk (classic or "Mr. Fix-It", whichever is fine with me), Pantheon-era brown suit Merged/Professor Hulk, the Ringmaster, Silver Centurion Iron Man, the Mandarin and a redo of Constrictor would be wonderful. Heck, I'd even take a "Daredevil" toy-line with characters like black/red armored suit Daredevil, Mr. Hyde, the Owl and Scarecrow. For the vintage/retro waves, I'd love to see them do "Marvel Super Heroes Secret Wars" and especially "Spider-Man: The Animated Series". Anyway, we'll all know for sure soon enough. Thanks for reading my rant and I hope you all are having a wonderful day. |

This is why it pays to know your comics history, son.

The Incredible Hulk is long overdue for his own wave of Marvel Legends figures, if not based on the movies, than maybe based on the comics, cartoons, and video games, both movie based games and Ultimate Destruction.

You have some really great suggestions and wants in a fantastic first post, so many in fact I will just hit on a couple of points: I think now that the MCU is slowing down for a few years - still the same amount of movies but less "hyped" movies that may only get one wave, there may be a way to start working in a Hulk, Iron Man, FF, Daredevil etc, wave every year, especially if they keep to 9-10 waves a year. They all have a rouges gallery that need to be addressed beyond just their main adversary or two, and lets not forget heroic supporting casts and prominent civilian supporting casts as well. I think it's equally possible we will see either a FA Storm or Jim Lee Storm in black - good logic was applied to seeing FA Storm in a post yesterday, but I don't trust Hasbro not to jump fast for the easiest repaint release ever. Either way they'd be for 2020 - that's mostly what SDCC starts showing off of the never seen before figures of the next year, though they do also throw in a handful of end of year figures too..it's just that traditionally there hasn't been but maybe 1 wave between Oct-Dec, IF that. More an aside and i may be guessing wrong, but it looks like you're mostly a Spider-Man and X-Men fan? Not trying to say it's wrong or right, better, worse..whatever..over other lines, it's just always interesting to see where people's main wants lie. For instance while I collect quite a bit of everything, the X-Men are my main priority. Finally, yes. Classic Doctor Doom. we MUST get him next year. C'Mon Hasbro. __________________________________________________ __________________________________________________ ___ Edit: @Boy Blunder. Well played. I remember seeing (and passing up) that comic in a bin nearly 20 years ago. But it's a running joke for a figure between a friend who was with me at the time and I. |

I’d Iike to see an archive line like the Star Wars Black Series has. Simple packaging (that must be ruined to open! Collector friendly also means thief friendly......) and maybe an accessory or two in the absence of a BAF piece. This was sort of the function of the Vintage Wave, but now that we’ve seen they are willing to put new sculpts and costumes in that line it’s changed the game. I just want rereleases, no fancy packaging necessary. Anything that was a TRU exclusive should be rereleased, as should SDCC exclusives. Fuck Amazon exclusives too. If it was popular, rerelease it.
Rogue Cyclops (Jim Lee) Storm (Jubilee BAF Wave) Cyclops (Puck Wave) Cyclops (Jubilee BAF Wave) Stryfe Dark Phoenix Cyclops (Byrne era) Wolverine (Tiger Stripe) Spider Man (Pizza Spidey) Spider Man 2099 Green Goblin Carnage Ms Marvel (Carol Danvers) Moonstone Hela Hobgoblin Daredevil (Ultimate Hobgoblin Wave) Mary Jane Magneto (Family Matters) Symbiote Spider Man Black Cat (UGG wave) Venom Captain Marvel (Carol Danvers) That’s not even including all of the MCU figures that could use face printing tech updates. There are a ton of figures that are way too expensive for normal people to buy and that probably kills any interest of jumping into the line. I think it would be a really good thing. |
Thanks for the reply and welcome, Nash, I really appreciate it. I hope you're doing well and that you had a great weekend. Like your Firestar joke, I was going to jokingly include Typeface in my list, but even I couldn't do that.
Yes, I am a Spider-Man and X-Men fan (and Spider-Man is my all-time favorite hero, especially married to Mary Jane/pre-One More Day era Spidey), but I love the Hulk, the Avengers, the X-Men and the Fantastic Four just as much. Since we're just now seeing the X-Men make a comeback, especially after Disney bought 20th Century Fox, I'd imagine we could see more Fantastic Four waves in the future, though Hulk may not be as likely since Universal and Marvel haven't exactly been playing nice together these days. Right now, my Top 5 characters I hope to see revealed at S.D.C.C. are classic Doctor Doom, Gold Team Jean Grey, Blue Team Cyclops re-released since he was impossible for me to find the first time around, classic Electro and "Amazing Friends" suit Firestar. Anyone else made into figures from my wish list would just be a bonus at this point, but it'd be nice to especially see Vulture and Electro revealed to finish up the classic roster of the Sinister Six and Overdrive so fans can complete their "Superior Foes" Sinister Five -- er, Six. I also think a "Secret Wars" retro/vintage wave of figures would be a great choice in the future in order to represent everyone that doesn't have a toy-line right now. That way, figures fans want to see re-released (like 70s suit Cyclops), were only included in multi-packs (like classic Magneto) or Walgreens exclusives (like the Human Torch, Mr. Fantastic and the Thing), need all-new sculpts (like Doctor Doom and black-and-green suit Rogue) or need new/improved accessories (like bendable wire tentacles for classic Doctor Octopus) could all be somewhat easier to find for fans and collectors. And "Spider-Man: The Animated Series" as a vintage/retro is just too perfect for Hasbro not to get into eventually. Imagine what all-new figure sculpts for the various Spider-Man figures (spider-sense, web-shooting, Web Armor, Octo-Spidey, etc.), Hobgoblin, Kingpin, the Lizard, Doctor Octopus, Chameleon, Venom, Mysterio, Scorpion, Rhino, Green Goblin, etc., and the first-ever figures for pre-Ultimate Slayer/human form Alistair Smythe with hover-chair, Rocket Racer and the Rheinholt Kragov version of Electro would look like. I'm actually surprised they didn't have any planned this year since it's the show's 25th anniversary year. Anyway, thanks for your attention and I hope you all are having a great night. |

Edit Double checked that FF TPB and the story isn't an AEM (it definitely reads like one) and it features Stan Lee, George Perez, and Jack Kirby (not Jim Shooter). 2nd Edit Cracked open my Dorkside Retro X-wave and the paint applications for Cyclops and Silver Samurai are pretty bad. Additionally, Dazzler has an ever so slight pupil misalignment. However Storm is perfect, as are Patch and Iceman. I'm happy, but I may have to replace Silver Samurai as the paint is so sloppy that it borders on dealbreaking status. |

@Bo Ttef Do you seal your dioramas with a clear coat after you've finished painting them? |
