I can't say that these Superman Page Punchers are for me but that just means that money is saved. As of right now, this is all that's left from the final 2023 rumor list. I would imagine that the 4 pack will be the figures we saw today, but with sketch decos.

Someone posted a shot on Reddit of Platinum chase versions of Azbat and First Appearance Batman. The Platinum Azbat comes in blue instead of red. The Platinum FA Batman has blue highlights on the boots and gloves, all blue gloves instead of purple, and blue on the inside of the cape.

I may get azbats but im passing on proctologist batman.

EvilMonkeyPope 03-03-2024 06:28 PM

Blue AzBats should've been a regular release since he wore it longer than the red.

jayvee 03-03-2024 07:32 PM

I actually prefer the platinum version of first appearance Batman over the regular.

EvilMonkeyPope 03-03-2024 07:36 PM

Wasn't there a Death Metal Harley Quinn & giant hyena for her to ride on one of the leaked lists from a while back?

Don't remember reading that anywhere..but would love it if it where true.

Comedian 03-04-2024 04:29 AM

Darn, I want both of those Batman platinum figures.

A Cyborg Supes was leaked almost a year ago. I hope it's finally getting made. Love the design.

These could be awesome. I somehow missed this game growing up, but I actually played it for the first time a couple of months ago on my Analogue Pocket and it's so much fun. The Genesis intro is SO good.

Though, I'm hoping this isn't just a way for them to re-release versions of these figures, because the designs have a lot in common with already released figures, so I hope there's some differences. Though not the cel shading kind of differences...

https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...b1b14c82_b.jpg

Alternatively, I guess these could be based on the comic run as well

Yeah, that's pretty understandable. There's already a JLA BAF wave with Batman, Superman, and Aquaman that's separate from this JLTF wave.

For the JLTF figures, I would imagine that Despero will be the BAF since a classic Darkseid mega fig was in the last rumor list. For Superman, I would guess that it'll be the Hush body with the new mullet head sculpt. For Batman, I would guess that it'll be the Y2 body, a one of the heads with long ears, and a dark blue and grey deco. Aquaman would probably be the Endless Winter body but with a new head and a bright deco. Flash could be the Blue Beetle TK body (same as Flashpoint Barry which a lot of people missed) with a new head and deco since it's Wally West.

Maybe we'll see that come to pass. Time will tell.

Characters like Booster Gold, Red Tornado, Captain Atom and Firestorm have around the same level of exposure (in some cases less), and they all got figures.

Again though, all else being equal, a relatively unknown male character likely has a better shot at selling than a relatively unknown female character (also, Booster Gold and Captain Atom, at least, were like 90% reused parts; I think only Firestorm had entirely unique tooling of those four).

The cape that come with the Batmobile version of 1989 Batman is actually pretty nice. It drapes way better than the NECA version.

Blue is definitely my preferred version, though I'll certainly try and get both.

I do wonder why the "cape" is so mechanical, though. Did it ever look like that in the comics?

As one of the people who missed the Barry Allan Flash, that would be great. :p My McFarlane DC collection is pretty much 90s-focused to begin with, so there's a lot to look forward to here. :)

If that were actually true (and I'm not convinced), then just make more box sets and include a better known male hero to offset the alleged icky girliness like they did with Batwoman. Green Arrow and Black Canary, a Justice League box set that could include a character like Hawkgirl or Vixen, even another Batman related set that could include Spoiler. There are ways to get women out into the line that virtually every other comic book toy manufacturer seems to have figured out.

Those figures are all pegwarming to this day and are selling for below retail on the secondary market while Knightfall Catwoman and Classic Wonder Woman sold out so fast they were barely in stock and are now commanding 2 and 3 times their value on the secondary market and it's looking like DKR Catwoman will join them.

So, if popular female characters sell while C-D list male characters peg warm then gender isn't the issue but notoriety. Yet McFarlane and his fans aren't claiming male figures don't sell and have no problem clogging pegs and filling clearance aisles with them.

It isn't, male figures peg warm just as hard if not harder.

When you point out that Mattel, Hasbro and Bandai the market leaders have no problem selling girl toys the "girls don't sell" crowd all say they aren't actually selling and these billion-dollar companies are just burning money because reasons.

So, let's go with companies that are more "indy" like Mcfarlane then, Like Neca Toys and Super 7.

How come THEY have no problem selling and stocking relatively obscure female characters like Cheetara, Karai, Elisa Maza, Angela and Demona but Mcfarlane can't even give us figures of some of the most iconic female superheroes like Wonder Woman, Catwoman, Batgirl and Supergirl on a regular basis?

Here's hoping this Justice League Task Force wave isn't just a re-release of the same mullet Superman we already got. If Todd puts out another Superman on the Hush body I'm just gonna give up. Here's hoping this doesn't wind up being on the DKR Superman body either. I just want a Total Justice era JLA on the shelf and we're closer than ever!

If that actually worked we would no doubt see it more often.

It isn't, male figures peg warm just as hard if not harder.

I've seen far too many peg-warming Harley Quinns and Arkham/The Batman Catwoman figures to buy that explanation.

Super 7 produces their figures on a made-to-order basis, don't they? As for NECA, I can't imagine that anyone who would buy Gargoyles figures in the first place wouldn't purchase Elisa, Demona and Angela.

You really need to step back and take a moment to appreciate that you guys are promulgating a paranoid conspiracy theory that Todd McFarlane just hates money for some reason. :p
