I got the orange female to make a DC Starfire. However I suppose one could also make a Tigra out of her.

How much are these figures and where can you get them from?

You can preorder them at Boss Fight Studio site.

I found TMNT Sprukits on Amazon finally. I actually had ordered two Donatellos and had planned on doing something with one... and I forget what. Just as well, though since a Leonardo showed up in the second one's place.

For the most part, I really like them. They're the the first Turtles I've ever seen that actually scale nicely with my 3.75/4" collection. I really, really want more like this.

I do have minor quibbles. The labels they have for certain parts are pretty weak-looking. Because of that, I think I'll just paint 'em. And the articulation is limited to head, elbow, hip, and - if you pull the joint out a bit - shoulder.

But! The fact that they're actually in my favorite scale and just being generally neat... I actually like them a fair amount better than Playmates' offerings at the same price.

More TMNT Sprukits I say! Let's get some secondary characters and classic Turtles!

I only wish the Mewtwo Sprukit I got today also was in this scale >.<

I am looking at the brown female for Impala and the blue for Nebula. I suppose I couldn't be lucky enough to get a cream colored male for the Adaptoid/Superadaptoid, no paint required.;)

While I am thinking about it, Gonativetoys has a male blank. His figures are better scaled to the DCIH figures, but do make good kid size figures for the Hasbro Marvels. He also sponsors contests on his site. He has been promising other blanks for some time but no progress.

I wish they would offer another "Blanx". That's a good deal for that right there.

theArchivist 12-31-2015 06:33 AM

That Blanx figure does make a pretty good teenager type body. The biggest problem I have with it is that it uses an O-ring and I hate those little rubber band things.

Here is a good scale image of the Blanx next to a GI Joe.

OMG I love those. I have been waiting for TMNT in that scale for forever!

If nobody here has been following it, a company named Fresh Monkey Fiction ran a Kickstarter last year to fund action figures of classic Public Domain Golden Age characters.

The figures are made on a buck VERY similar to the old Secret Wars line, and are a match for it in size and scale. I took an old Secret Wars figure and stood it on my Avengers shelf and the two work pretty well together. So by proxy, these would work among our modern figures as well. Especially as the simpler design of the figures would echo the simpler Golden Age design sensibility.

Wave 1 is arriving to backers soon (of which I'm one), so I'll be sure to post some comparison pics when I get them. After that, they'll be available on their website. They're also planning a second wave in late Q1 2016.

The picture they put up of these figures in the old 1995 X-Men Headquarters playset (which made me hunt one down for myself)...

I've been REALLY excited to finally have these in hand for awhile now. We're so close that I can't wait!!

The new Captain Action line Kickstarter also started today.

I like the molds, but have no desire for those characters. I've no attachment to Captain Action, personally. The only reason I'm even getting one with the Amazing Heroes figures is because he's just a part of the assortment.

Again, VERY nice molds and sculpts on those figures, though.

Is that a tmnt krang hoverboard?

UrsaMagnus 01-01-2016 07:09 PM

I have no idea. This is their picture, not mine. I'm not familiar enough with the TMNT line to know.

Search for 1995 Toy Biz X-Men headquarters.

Got the 1990s X-Men Headquarters playset yesterday. The one I got has seen FAR better days, so I'm in the process of fixing it up with extra stickers from other ReproLabels sets, as well as some Sharpie to bring out certain details. Tomorrow, I plan on making some custom graphics to replace the ones missing from around the central station as well as the big viewscreen in front of the chair.

The ZICA Captain Action and Adventure People teamed up with BBTS and are offering these as pre-orders with all pre-orders money being contributed to the Kick Starter.

I just came across this Power Rangers figure from the new Dino warriors line that looked pretty cool. He's in the 5" line and would fit in well in with Hulks or TMNT figures.
Lots of nice detail a better paint job could bring out. I'll add some scale pictures in a little bit.

I'm hoping they take these molds and do them in a similar fashion as the Amazing Heroes line you mentioned above. I'll probably get some extras to make some customs of those old public domain characters.

Those are some great molds, and if they were to pursue making Public Domain characters I'd happily pick them up.
