I’ve got a pair of iron man blasts if ya still need them.

Yeah, I typically solve this by buying a 2nd shield and cutting off the straps. I then use sticky tac to adhere the shield to the back. Although, I'm thinking two sided gel tape is probably less messy.

BTW, would you be willing to post photos of both your MCU First Avenger Caps on Ultimate Cap's bike?

Unless we get an actual Selene figure I’m gonna say this is the best bet for shitty customizers like me.

Shame about the skin tones not matching. I'm planning a similar kit-bash, when my Emma arrives. Since you have yours, would you say that the skin tone of the Walgreen's Emma is closer to the skin tone of Polaris? Thinking about using her upper arms for Selene.

I think it depends on the title a lot. X-Men Red, Astonishing X-Men (Rosenberg run), X-23, ANAD Wolverine, Mr and Mrs X, Amazing Nightcrawler and a few others over the last few years have been good at serving up good, wholesome X stories in my opinion. Without excessive 90sness.

Slowly building up an X-Men team and really glad I added this guy to the shelf. He looks incredible!

It is a shame! It doesn't match the Polaris skin tone either. It's a very dark tan color, like Emma spent a good amount of time in a tanning booth. I'm sure it matches other figures but I can't think off the top of my head. I'll try to put a picture up tonight. FWIW if I DO try to paint, I'm going to paint over the darker tone on the Emma body, as Selene has generally been portrayed as having fairly light skin, and painting the faces tends to come out horribly anyways.

It's funny you should mention those titles, because aside from Astonishing, I followed all those. Red was especially impressive - while I went back and forth on Tom Taylor's handling of Laura in her own book (and wasn't a fan of his apparent vitriol towards Logan spoken through other characters), I felt he handled the team book really well, especially given the mix of characters there. His Nightcrawler, in particular, is one of the most true-to-character versions I've read in a while, and his Jean was top-notch, giving her a spotlight rarely afforded to the character (and giving her a team leader role in which she excelled quite well).

I also did enjoy a number of the 'Age of X-Man' books. Prisoner X, Amazing Nightcrawler, and X-Tremists were all pretty damn good, and while I'm still undecided on it (since I haven't read the final issue), Apocalypse and the X-Tracts has been a bit of fun. But it helps that I'd been following those writers beforehand.

Also gotta give props to the newer version of Generation X. It may not have been great, but you can tell Christina Strain had love for it, and was trying, which is a lot more than other X-Books (*coughXMENGOLDcough*), and it started moving Quentin Quire into a more likable character (which West Coast Avengers just expanded on in leaps and bounds).

Anyway, uhhh, back to toy talk, um... Hm. Been kinda quiet for me on the Legends front. I picked up Retro-wave Iceman and Silver Samurai the other day, and other than his facemask being a little misaligned for his eyes, Samurai is really nice. Honestly, he's already in the running for my Top Ten of this year, with all the new sculpting and the excellent paint job. Iceman is... well, Iceman. Nothing wrong with him aside from gummy knees, but nothing amazing, either. I'm just glad Gamestop was still doing their BOGO 50% sale.

Hey now! X-men Gold gave Storm the nap she's been needing for years!
I also just recently read all the AOX books - they were all fun to differing degrees EXCEPT Marvelous X-Men, which was just boring and making sure to point out in obviousness what all the other books were making more mysterious and interesting.

Back to toys - yes Samurai is a great figure! I hadn't been jonesing for him but he's probably my #2 figure in the wave, maybe because he's the only brand new never made in any Marvel Legends form figure. But he's a damn good sculpt too...very "solid" figure - he's quite heavy LOL

Sure. Storm and the readers.

(Also the Kurt/Rachel thing was just a flat "what")

It's dumb. Kurt has a million other characters that he has more chemistry with than Rachel.

Meanwhile, I wish some writer would be brave enough to revisit Claremont's original ideas that Kitty was Rachel's soulmate, even if it didn't end up panning out in-universe.

No way man. Its gotta be shadowcat and colossus or nothin. (Okay i know they tried that back in astonishing but still.....they just kinda belong together. Besides think of the sons powers....a phasing metal skin with super strength....that'd be f&$king awesome). Lets not pull an iceman with shadowcat and marvel girl.

They tried that back in Uncanny X-Men, Excalibur (sort of, or at least one sided), Astonishing, Gold....AOX in a way....it's odd that the only one that's legitimately shown them working out in is the dystopian Age Of Apocalypse. I guess the world has to go to hell for them to work.

And he needs a Legends figure! It shouldn't be too difficult to do.

Stopped by my local Target which was doing it's late summer reset, and managed to find the entire vintage wave and Wendigo wave as they were being thrown up on the pegs. Since I have the vintage wave already in my loot pile, I broke up the Wendigo set and settled for these. I wanted Vindicator as well, but man were the paint apps sloppy, so I'll try again for him on another day. I don't forsee him, Boom Boom or Gasbag lighting up the pegs anytime soon.

Do you have the older Nightcrawler to compare and contrast? I haven't found a review yet that does so.

I only have the Ultimate Nightcrawler from the X-Men Classics line. I missed out on the original Toybiz one from the Galactus wave, and I never got around to picking him up.

I'll be sure to at least dig up Ultimate Nightcrawler when I get around to sharing some thoughts on this one. I haven't really had a chance to sit around and mess with these just yet thanks to the kiddos, but I will say that as of this moment, this X-Force Wolverine might be my favorite Hasbro Wolverine so far.

Ultimate Nightcrawler uses a lot of the same pieces as TB Kurt, so it should be a fair comparison.

I'm looking forward to your thoughts on the thicker Wolverine claws, too.

LOL

For me, X-Men continuity begins and ends with the 1990s animated series. :p
