The wings have some very nice articulation. They're removable, can rotate in the socket and bend at the joint to be positioned at a different angle behind him. There's a secondary joint that holds the wing assembly together and allows them to fan out much further. It's probably hard to tell in that photo, I've posted these ones here before but they probably illustrate it a bit better.

As I sell tons of Hellboy and NECA figures to try to save up for the Quantum Mechanix Spock and Trek, a friend surprised me with a gift in the form of the Barbie Kirk. Gotta say, promo images suggested to me that Kirk was the least impressive of the bunch, but in hand I really like him!
