Yeah, IF you missed Binary Captain Marvel I don't think you will have that problem any more.

Odd shipper to put them in but there were 18! in the middle of this thing.
I pulled one out to see how many were in there.

My guess either he got pushed back waiting on the inevitable Fantastic four movie wave. Or he’s gonna be a future Walgreens exclusive, he’s got to be made. He’s such a badass character. But thanks for reminding my friend I completely forgot all about him.

@Phantomcrow. First ya finding the Dc Multiverse wave and now her? Man your Walmart’s are stacked hahaha,

Sadly my wal mart will not get the Marvel 80th Cap, so I will have to hunt him down. I had him ordered , but they sent me a delay email today. So time to start hunting in case they cancel my order.

Dr Kain 08-09-2019 10:10 PM

First off, the one Walmart close to me that Brickseek said had the Caps didn't. The employee who offered to help looked it up and it said they had 6 on hand, but they weren't in the back and they weren't on the pegs. -_-

Second:

https://i.imgur.com/RrIJYBR.jpg

Dazzler and Storm arrived. I'll take pictures sometime this weekend, but so far here are my impressions of them:

Dazzler - Cool, but I wish they had done multi-color flares like the disco version came with.

Storm - Awe man, I love her and hate her at the same time. I absolutely abhore the cape. It's a prime example of why soft goods suck major ass. It's cheap feeling as it feels like it is going to tear every time I touch it, it's folded up due to the way she was packaged, and worst of all, it isn't even centered properly on the back side. It veers off to the right, so if I have her head turned, you can see the cape is not in the center. It's driving me crazy and I can't figure out how to fix it. Also, her legs seem to be a tad softer than normal. On the other hand, it is great to have 90s Storm, so now give me my god damned First Appearance Storm Hasbro! Just um... make her cape be out of a soft plastic instead of this Dollar Tree fabric.

Never officially confirmed, just a sku found in Walgreen's system

hasbroherofan 08-09-2019 11:33 PM

It's strange because I would've thought that they would've released him in time for the Captain Marvel movie.

I wonder if perhaps the FF stuff didn't sell as well as anticipated, so Walgreens requested more X-Men stuff instead. While Thing was impossible to find in the wild, I recall seeing an awful lot of Mr. Fantastics, Human Torches, Invisible Women and Medusas on shelves (anecdotal, yes I know).

I got the same delay email also, how can he be delayed while stores are getting pegs of him??!!!

He certainly is a badass. Some of my favorite stories containing Kl'rt are:

  • Marvel Team-up vol 1 issues 61-62
  • Alpha Flight vol 1 issue 9
  • Silver Surfer vol 2 Giant Sized Annual 1
  • Annihilation: Super Skrull mini issues 1-4

There have been other great stories containing Kl'rt (side note: Infinity not being among them - he wasn't used properly in that series, imo - this is not an indictment of Hickman, there were just too many character-threads in that convoluted mess to do any one hero/villain justice - it was too ambitious of a story), but the aforementioned books function a my foundation for understanding the character - the scope of his powers - and his motivations.

Thanks, I know, that's why I answered with as much. Kl'rt was one of only a handful of inventory leaks that did not come to fruition...

Agreed, on the first count. I opined during the lead up period to the movie that the fig might be a surprise tie-in, but it never materialized. Your experience with Reed, Johnny, and Sue was consistent with that of many others. However, I don't think we have to worry about poor Walgreens FF sales. The pegs clogging with those figs had more to do with Hasbro's oft mentioned distribution woes. People secured the figs via other means before Walgreens finally got around to ordering them, which in turn created a largely manufactured (see whut I did? ;)) glut of inventory. Once the movie drops, there will be a full-court press as far as marketing and merch is concerned. While I had already considered this, it doesn't sit well with me to wait for something that they already seem to be thinking about. I want less 'strategic timing' and more delivery on fan wants. If White Rabbit (anyone else making the connection with that character and the Jefferson Airplane song?? Interesting...), Scream, and Lasher can be put into the hands of the legions of fans salivating for them (sarcasm - if it weren't obvious enough lol), then they can also provide me with a Super Skrull and Wendell Vaughn...and a Legends Destroyer ...and Blue Marvel...and Kang the Conqueror...and while they're at it, his future self; Immortus...and Mr. Hyde...and...and...and...

Goodness yes. Agree with that. While I'd say that every character certainly has at least someone (sometimes just one lol) that wants them, taking into account how expensive they are do to and requiring new parts, you'd think they'd want to get some higher profile characters out there. I know that's somewhat subjective but for every Rock Python, Lasher and Eel, why haven't we gotten Super Skrull, Quasar or an updated Kang? Mostly because of required new tooling but still, there's plenty out there that wouldn't require a lot of new tooling -Firestar, Blue Marvel, Northstar, and even bringing up Quasar again - that should at some point soon get some priority. I mean, my goodness, there's a ton of characters that are just guys wiht a cape that would just require a new head and repaints.

What I want to know is, will Hasbro acknowledge the Doc Ock tentacles complaints and do bendy wire tentacles for him? Or will we have to wait for a new Doctor Octopus figure with a new body/costume? And I agree with Nash. Beast needs a calm Beast head. And we need an optic blast for the upcoming 3-pack Cyclops. And a calm/smiling Captain America head, since I hate all the "angry caveman" recent head sculpts.

Fingers crossed Hasbro acknowledges that fans want to see Firestar, classic Falcon, classic Electro (with normal alternate gloved hands this time please), Silver Centurion Iron Man and First Appearance Storm and will make them all into new figures next year.

The new Superior Octopus appears to come with bendy wires. There's probably some way to use those for regular Doc Ock, though they might be a bit thin on him.

TheBlueMarvel 08-10-2019 07:33 AM

Yeah, Nash, it's more than mildly irritating. It's as though they are more concerned about satisfying the whims of Squirrel Girl, Venom, and Ms. Marvel fans (not complaining that those fans have been serviced - bully for you all) while ignoring longstanding (back to the Toy Biz days) requests.

Particular irritants are the lack of a Blue Marvel when other ANAD characters have emerged. And, I'm sorry, but how the hell do we get a White Rabbit before Madame Web, Morlun, Carrion, Lightmaster, Ezekiel, Silvermane (body and all), Hammerhead (see last entry), Will O'The Wisp, comic Molten Man (sorry guys, I just don't see it with that BAF), Man Wolf, new Blackheart (for those straining to make the connection, he started as a Spidey villain), Gibbon, etc...the list is very long.

Not just that, but if you look at the back of that Spider-Man figure, the tentacles don't even go into his backpack the same way, so they won't fit in Doc Ock's back holes.

I think the silly way stuff is being released is an intentional attempt to steer people to order online. The obvious downside is you can’t see what you’re actually buying. You get what you get. That would be ok if the qc was more consistent but, with the overwhelming amount of product Hasbro is pumping out I think qc issues will continue to be a problem. It’s obvious to me that Hasbro is rushing these figures to market. The overhead for selling product online is much less than traditional brick and mortar shops and it seems that this is a trend we’re seeing a lot of lately since TRU went under. Whether we collectors like it or not online shopping is the wave of the future. The days of cherry picking the best looking stuff are endangered. With online sales retailers can now force inferior products on us. Online gives retailers a way to get rid of poor quality merch that used to languish on the shelves. It’s another example of cutting corners to maximize profits. And another sad example of how consumers seem to be losing their voice in the marketplace.

En Sabah Nerd 08-10-2019 10:15 AM

I'm not sure I'd get him but I'm a little surprised Hasbro hasn't used their Jackal to give us a Vermin yet, the only new sculpting would be the head and maybe pants (I don't remember if we already have torn pants). Of course Mister Negative is still the big easy repaint that I'm surprised wasn't done when the PS4 game was still new.

Edit: We could also possibly get a classic Werewolf by Night out of the Jackal body.

I was 100% fully expecting a Mr Negative to be shown at Sdcc. I would’ve bet my car on it(Glad I didn’t haha) because he’s insanely popular thanks to the PS4 Game and such a easy repaint for hasbro. All they’d need is a Suited body and a new head. My guess is they’ll release him in a two pack with either a PS4 spidey or a comic spidey

kenm2474 08-10-2019 10:48 AM

Finally doing it. New Beast Buck with Old Beast Hands, Feet and Head. Going to put a bigget X buckle like the old Beast had too.

Got all figures in the Wendigo wave at Walmart today, except Nightcrawler, they didn't have him.

That'd be pretty nice. I like the GameStop exclusive figure but it could really stand to have all of the suit details painted on, the Pizza Spidey head since it's closer to the game model, and all three pairs of hands. Even an updated comic Spidey with all of the hands would be great.

Archangel 08-10-2019 02:05 PM

Just scored the whole Wendigo wave and classic IM at Walmart!

Still have a Vintage Storm for trade.

Now looking for parts of the Hulk Endgame and 80th Cap for trade...

tierneygreen 08-10-2019 03:21 PM

I picked up the Colossus/Juggy set at Walmart today. They had 3 on the shelf. Oddly enough, the paint job on Colossus' belt was the only QC issue I saw between them.

So I'm pretty well caught up now, until the Walgreens Emma Frost starts to hit retail.

I also tallied up what I've spent so far on Legends in 2019. It's indecent. :o :D

Edit

An All Winners Squad would be very cool. We already have Namor.

My wife, the master haggler, got us a good haul at the toy shop today when trading in a sack of Transformers. Came away with Beta Ray Bill, Rescue, Citizen V, and Living Laser, along with DC Collectibles Bombshells Batwoman, DC Multiverse Batgirl of Burnside, and the Overwatch Ultimates Pharah/Mercy two-pack.

I feel like I'm the only one excited about this Punisher. In any case, I'm getting him to use as an alternative body for my Netflix Punisher.

If you watch the SDCC Marvel Legends panel, they do mention it during their slide show presentation. That said, it came across as more of a "quit your bitchin'" response.
