Retool. The head is new, at least.

Semantics. I'm not sure how much I'd count a new head as a retool. My SDCC Hulk is essentially a redeco of the 2pk Hulk with a new hand, that's more than even the new Puck features. Paint with new head = the cake is a lie.

That's not semantics, my man. They had to make a new tooling for the head, hence retool. If it were just a changing of the colors used, withouth any newly-tooled parts, it would be a redeco.

It'd be like saying that every use of the Bucky Cap mold is a redeco of Bucky Cap.

If there are no new parts, then that's what it is in my opinion. Heads are accessories, sometimes coming alone and with figures of entirely different characters.

I think we have a different opinion on what constitutes a retool. A retool, to me, is Man-Thing and Sasquatch, not simply a new head.

I just think that's going far to easy on manufacturers...but believe what you want to.

tierneygreen 08-23-2019 03:21 PM

Put in my pre-order for Alpha Flight. Man, that Northstar looks straight up like a John Byrne drawing.

ariellagunas 08-23-2019 03:22 PM

@Captain Nash.

Now that I feel important legends are done, I suddenly need the Hellfire Club.
I mean, the soldiers are cool. So why not a two pack?
That leaves Sebastian Shaw, Leland and Pierce. Plus Mastermind and yes, Selene.
I guess the problem is the. Elaborate outfits. Shaw and Selene are not hard to make. Pierce would probably be more 90's custome. And Leland is simply not gonna happen.
And let's not forget all these characters are part of the Dark Phoenix Saga, one of the most reprinted graphic novels. Hell we got dazzling Dazzler. Why not the rest?

Selene, Classic White Queen, Shaw, Pierce and Jason Wyngarde as Mastermind. yes, we'd be missing Leland, but I'll be darned if I sacrifice Selene to have him.

But that's the thing, it is a new part. By saying that heads are accessories, then a figure could be sold without a head? I'll give you that alternate heads are accessories, sure, but you still need at least one head to be able to sell a figure (BAF notwithstanding, because obviously).

Sure, Puck is still using the same mold, but reusing assets is kind of a given for Marvel Legends (and Hasbro as a whole). I don't think calling it a retool because it has a newly-tooled primary piece (not an accessory) is being "easy" on manufacturers, because that's just terminology being correctly used.

It's not about belief or semantics, its about the actual definition of the term.

Okay, that's fine. I'm not trying argue, call it what you want. I obviously have a different opinion. (Lol rewrote that a few times)

@Captain Nash:
No need to sacrifice. To be frank, Leland, did show only on two storylines.
Now, Shaw, Pierce, Selene and the guards, have been shown a lot. I feel they are on the pipeline. Same as Callisto and Deathbird. They are bound to be done.
Heck, if Satana, Hellcat, and White Rabbit are a thing. Can't see why not.

BTW: I hate putting heads on different characters, but I felt OK with the Jean (ex Ms Marvel I) head on the new Emma body. I did have a spared Satana (before she cost millions) cloak. Since Madelyne Pryor was a clone of Jean Grey. I am funny that way, it has to make sense in my head somehow.

In hasbropulse’s latest IG photo it appears there is a hands holding piece for Aurora and Northstar.

Edit: maybe not......

I still think some Hasbro workers are secret members here at Toyark spying on our forums and of us talking about wanting certain characters.

So far, new Alpha Flight, Age of Apocalypse Wolverine/Weapon X and Morph, mid late 1980s Australia Dazzler.

I may sound paranoid about it, but I really do think some Hasbro workers are lurking around here in the forums checking on our want lists for figures etc

I wish I could say that I'm the Hasbro plant but everyone knows there's a few characters not made that would have shown up by now....

We keep saying it. And yet, it never happens. I honestly don't know once we get her and FA Storm who will we as a community collectively bitch about not having?

Archangel 08-23-2019 05:14 PM

Hasbro now owns Death Row Records...

Hasbro spies, give us a 3-pack of Dr Dre, Snoop Dogg, and Tupac. Suge Knight BAF...

Tim 08-23-2019 05:42 PM

Those new Slate of Tv shows shown at D23 just sound amazing. Definitely can’t wait for Moon Knight, US agent and She hulk MCU figures. Marvel studios is killin it.

There's really only two things that could make next year even better......

Edited the edit: We all know that's not true. I'm never done.

hasbroherofan 08-23-2019 06:08 PM

I have to agree and disagree. Yes is it the same buck fine, it wasn’t a bad buck. The new head being far to easy on manufacturers,....BRO! We got an entire box set of new figures with new parts and heads!!! Shamans head sculpt alone is epic!!!

@Nash haha. I honestly don’t know. We will have to think of something. It won’t be hard ha.

Part 1: Moon Knight...yes. please. It's time. Also we need Black Spectre (Carson Knowles, preferably) to show up.

Part 2: We are never completely satisfied. 10 years from now if we're lamenting what on earth is taking them so long to make Mandrill, Plague, Rhapsody and Micromax, that'll just mean that Hasbro has done an amazing job.

Offside comment: it just hit me, a figure I RARELY see mentioned as a desired redo from Toy Biz days. classic Havok. I wonder why that is.
