...and unlikely. Stan's value will go up and up.

I only want Stan for the civilian body.

tierneygreen 10-03-2019 04:29 PM

I'm absolutely over-the-moon about Dr. Doom. I want him now. I will definitely be picking up Stan, as well.

Warpath is a probable buy for me. I'm on the fence about Sunspot.

I'm even less inclined to get She Hulk now than I was a couple of months ago. I had hoped that the gray-ish skin tone we saw in July was a misrepresentation of the final product. I guess it wasn't.

Oh, and that new Thing looks like someone hurt his feelings.

Probably but when it comes to this hobby, I've learned being patient can save you a lot of money.

Now that you mention it, I've always wanted a civilian look for MCU Steve Rogers. Stan's body might work.

I really want to know who the BAF in the F4 wave will be. Looking at what they showed I really just want Doom, but I might buy She Hulk. As someone said before, I feel I have the perfect team with the Walgreens figures, so these new ones aren't anything I have to chase down. Unless the BAF is something I REALLY need. I'm going through the same thing with the Spider-Man wave. I have a feeling that this will be rough.

I'm gonna take a wild guess and say that it's going to be Dragon-Man

Hopefully it will be the Future Foundation version.

Willie Lumpkin Build-a-Mailman.

Without a doubt.

That's a good idea and I see it too - the sculpt is strangely athletic. But using it for a comic Cap wouldn't be an option for me. Rogers is too powerfully built. However, it's good for a 'punk.' They are always punks to me...

Wow new FF this soon.... buffoonery.
Why does the new Reed head look kinda like John Krasinski?

LOL I understand where you are coming from, not everyone is going to like this choice, but I've been waiting for Hasbro to give some team other than the X-men and Avengers time in the sun.

You may want to get used to this because with the up coming movie, we're going to see quite a few FF waves - if not a full on break out a la Spidey. Think of the money you'll save. ;) I'm glad they got this modern look out of the way before using the FF brand for movie tie-ins. I look forward to Kang, Diablo, Mephisto, the Mad Thinker and his Awesome Android etc and I can't imagine where else I could get that fix outside of FF specific waves.

...but I get it...buffoonery also happens to be one of my favorite words.

Tim 10-03-2019 09:09 PM

Yes! 100% Yes to Kang, I absolutely love that character.

See, I love the FF, but this is kind of a slap in the face after 2 years of Walgreens exclusives. FF themed waves are more than welcome, I'm hoping for Lyja and some form of Sharon Ventura, Psi-Lord Franklin and Huntara, Gravatron, Frankie Raye, Namorita and Crystal and the rest of the Inhuman royal family, there are so many characters to look forward to. Was it absolutely necessary to make me hunt down Walgreens exclusives first?

Vamp 10-03-2019 09:25 PM

I prefer WarPath with the hulking body, anyone agree?
I will still buy him thou 100% LOL

SideNote: anyone knw the diff. with the new Thing fig?

New head sculpt on Thing

En Sabah Nerd 10-03-2019 10:24 PM

I already loved the Doom since we saw it at SDCC but including the classic head and, more importantly to me, it not being an exclusive are the tastiest of icing.

StuartGreen2019 10-03-2019 10:27 PM

Doctor Doom and Stan Lee are the only must-buys for me. I am not a fan of the new F.F. suits, so I will pass on them (though Sue's force field accessory is legitimately cool). And since I prefer the classic F.F. suits, it makes me even more upset and disappointed the Walgreens wave was so hard for me to find (I was only able to find and buy Invisible Woman - everyone else was sold out). I was hoping the Fantastic Four wave would've had half the team in one wave and the rest in wave two. That way, wave one could be two of the F.F. with Dr. Doom and other characters that need long overdue figures. Mole Man, Kang the Conqueror, Trapster, the Wizard and Annihilus would've been nice.

Frankly, I'm shocked and disappointed it seems like we won't get an 80th anniversary Spider-Man figure. Since Spider-Man is basically to Marvel what Mickey Mouse is to Disney, it's beyond my comprehension that they wouldn't make a Spider-Man figure for the 80th anniversary line. I'm a bit surprised we don't know who the Build-A-Figure is for the upcoming first Spider-Man wave of 2020. I am still hopeful that the rumors of classic Electro being made into a figure in 2020 are true. I do hope that Hasbro will make missing villains into figures for Spider-Man villain teams, such as classic Boomerang and classic or armored suit Rhino for the classic Sinister Syndicate, Armani suit Doctor Octopus with bendable wire tentacles for the Sinister Six, Overdrive for the Superior Foes collectors, etc.

I don't know what else we'll see at New York Comic Con, especially since the New York Toy Fair is in February, but I'm sure we may see a few more reveals.

And if Hasbro's reading, I'd still love to see figures of classic red-and-black suit Wasp, classic lab coat Bruce Banner, a John Romita Sr./Gil Kane era Spider-Man, Ringmaster, classic Leader, Sandman (either classic or his green-and-yellow suit, I'd just love a Marvel Legends Sandman that's not a Build-a-Figure), Trapster, the Wizard, classic Mysterio with alternate heads (Quentin Beck and Daniel Berkhart), classic Green Goblin with alternate heads (maybe Norman Osborn, Harry Osborn and/or Bart Hamilton), classic Boomerang, first appearance Mary Jane Watson, classic Shocker, an updated classic red suit Daredevil, Toad, Blob, Pyro, Avalanche, Owl, Banshee, 70s/classic Storm, classic Luke Cage, Mr. Hyde, Constrictor, 80s Rogue, F.F. uniform She-Hulk, Amazing Friends uniform Firestar, Silver Centurion Iron Man, Kang, Ultron, classic Jack O'Lantern with his hovercraft, Iron Man II with a Jim Rhodes head, classic U.S. Agent, 80s/armored Rhino, classic Hobgoblin with a bigger/better Goblin Glider accessory and alternate heads (like Ned Leeds, Jason Macendale and/or Roderick Kingsley), classic Beta Ray Bill, Armani suit Doc Ock with bendable wire tentacles and maybe an alternate "Mark of Kaine" Ock head, Web Armored suit Spider-Man, Octo-Spidey with bendy wire tentacles, Pantheon era brown jumpsuit Merged Hulk, Thunderstrike, "Heroes Return" Iron Man, and "Heroes Return" gypsy suit Scarlet Witch.

Jay C posted a video of the new Marvel Legends shown at NYCC and provided some additional information.
  • The Thing won't come with any accessories.
  • The Invisible Woman may come with alternate hands (he wan't sure)
  • Stan Lee is not a Target exclusive. It should be available at other stores "eventually".

I’m feeling this completely. I lucked out and finished my Walgreens Fantastic Four over the summer, and the new figures don’t compel me to purchase them. The uniforms are an odd choice since they’re mostly doing this wave for folks who didn’t pick up the Walgreens exclusives (mostly because they’re impossible to find). I think the blue and white uniforms might have been cooler. Doctor Doom looks crazy cool, and She-Hulk is a pass. As such, I really hope the BAF isn’t Dragon-Man. Or Uatu, or Awesome Android, or Lockjaw... see, the problem here is, most options for an FF BAF are super cool, and this wave is mostly pretty meh. I’m also behind on FF reading, so I have no familiarity with those uniforms or that She-Hulk. I’m in the same boat on the Spider-Man wave. Everything but Vulture and maybe Shang-Chi is an easy pass, but if the BAF is cool, I’ll have to talk myself into buying it. Also trying to work out if I need Strong Guy (I certainly don’t need two or three more Deadpools). Sunspot and Warpath look great. Stan Lee is the best thing ever and I ordered two.

Captain Nash 10-04-2019 05:58 AM

I'm not 100% sold on the Fantastic Four wave but I'll probably order the entire wave just to be sure I get a Doom. I'm really worried that he's going to be impossible to find.

Also I really hope we get a Wizard out of this somehow. And redos of Kang, Anniahlus (sp bc I can NEVER spell his name lol) and a non SDCC release of Blastaar. They're the main ones missing or need to be redone for me, but I would also take a Red Ghost or Diablo. Insta-pass on creepy Puppet Master though.

I'm sure Pulse will have him available on his own.

I think Marvel Legends is slowly reaching a point where I have pretty much every character I could ever want, in the outfit I'd want them. Sunspot, Warpath and Doom are amazing reveals, but beyond them I'm not interested in anything else. And that's actually a good thing for me. There's still some characters I hope we get, but overall I think the Legends line has hit it's zenith.

I sort of agree. I'm still wanting a ton of figures but as far as essentials, there's really only a handful of never done before characters/costumes and a handful of essential remakes that NEED to get done.

The truth is, after next year, I'm going to take a look at my wishlist and pare the whole thing, new characters, new costumes and updates, down to 50 wants. And not get anything other than what's on that wishlist - right now it's at close to 150 figures. That doesn't include A0A X-Men characters which I know I'm going to buy pretty much anything they release on that, which is why I'm not doing this until 2021.

LOL Those AOA figures are going to tough for me to resist. The thing for me is that I just don't have the space to display multiple versions of multiple characters. I'm really trying to identify what I consider to be the iconic version and keep it at that. Obviously there will be exceptions, but that's the overall goal for myself. And looking at my shelves, I can say it's almost pretty much there. This Doom checked off a major character. I need a classic Dr. Strange (still have my ToyBiz version on display). There are still plenty of characters that I would like to have, but my "absolute need" list is getting pretty short.

Still need a few from the old ToyBiz line from the 90’s.

Exodus
Gideon
Senyaka
Lady Deathstrike
Deathbird
Hellfire Club box set....

Still a bunch of X-Men baddies out there. Mojo?

Sometimes I feel like I'm hanging on to the figures from that toyline just so I'll have something in scale to display Exodus and Deathbird in. If we got those two I think I'd be fine selling off the entire collection real cheap.

Trivial Psychic 10-04-2019 08:56 AM

Those of you still looking for Emma Frost, Walgreens are starting to set up Marvel themed endcaps featuring the new exclusive Pops, Minimates and Legends. I've run into quite a few Emmas these past three days...
