Someone told them the X-men are 'hawt'...

Really frustrated with the lack of Dani’s in my area. At least I’m pretty broke right now...shouldn’t buy one if it smacked me in the face.

Just across all Walmarts the fact that they're putting the retro X-wave and the 80th anniversary stuff on clearance so soon is pretty bonkers. They're willing to do that to merchandise that is still quite new but not to the all of the stragglers that have been peg-warming for over a year?

I honestly thought that the clearance prices on the 80th stuff was to clear room for the Force Friday stuff, but then not a single one of my local Walmarts received any EP9 stuff outside of some lightsabers and Nerf guns. No Black or Vintage Series figs, no Pops, no vehicles or playsets and none of the newer 5 inch line...nothing.

In fact...a couple of my Walmarts didn't even have space allocated to Star Wars. Not even an empty tag or peg. Strange.

They did get a giant endcap and center aisle display of Frozen 2 stuff though...

couldnt resist

My local Walmart also kinda didn't get shit out for Force Friday, there's not even price tags for the black series and all they got for the 3.75" figures were the exclusive Landos they were supposed to have gotten months ago. They did have the new cartoony 5" line and some of those were pretty cute.

Sorry for veering off topic.

Where are you finding them for that low price? My stores still want full price for them, which is why I have not bought Silver Samurai or Cyclops yet. I will not be buying Wolverine at all even for $1.

Awesome

urrutiap 10-06-2019 08:49 PM

one of the aisle end cap sides where stuff gets crammed into a junk pile and put on clearance.

Walmart wont get rid of the frikkin Avengers Endgame figures but all of a sudden theyll put clearance sale prices on the Retro X-Men along with Star Wars Black Series Attack of the Clones Padme, Solo Story Han, and Episode VIII Vice Admiral Holdo

The Walmart stores that I go to once a month or so, they still have Avengers Endgame along with old junk like Misty Knight and even Dagger of Cloak and Dagger

Since Plastic Man is DC I'm going to go with Wonder Man (who admittedly sounds like he should also be DC).

I figured it was Daredevil, but I guess he could be Cyclops.

Captain Nash 10-07-2019 11:52 AM

So I was in Walmart this morning picking up some special prescription to chase away my bronchitis, and I strode by the toy aisle while I was there. I was surprised at the mix of Legends they had - nothing that hasn't been out and seen already by others, but this is a Walmart that absolutely blows at stocking their toy section. For them to have some figures from the Caliban, Smart Hulk and Wendigo wave was a miracle for them.

Miracles do not last though. I could not find a single solitary Star Wars item. And when I asked about them, they said they got some boxes last week but haven't put any out. They didn't know a thing about it being brand new product or Force Friday or anything. Truly, even if I felt like doing so, this sort of thing absolutely discourages me from evening THINKING about going out for a hunt one evening.

StuartGreen2019 10-07-2019 12:07 PM

I hear you, Nash. I went out with my family yesterday to a Wal-Mart while we were running errands and I decided to see what was in their toy section. I could not find a single X-Men figure, any kind of Captain America (Worthy or 80th), no 80th anniversary figures, there were no character two-packs of any kind, and they had four of the Molten Man Build-A-Figure Spider-Man wave (Hydro-Man, Spider-Woman, Doppelganger and surprisingly Scorpion, who is usually sold out). I didn't get to check out the Clearance section due to our limited time there, so I have no idea if marked down Marvel Legends were there, but since I've been to this particular Wal-Mart frequently, you don't usually find discounted Marvel Legends figures in clearance, and if you do that is a miracle unto itself.

That said, I was rather disappointed with NYCC's Marvel Legends reveals. I have so many figures I'm hoping to see made into action figures, that making a Top 10 wish list later this year will be simply impossible for me to narrow down my most wanted figures at this point. We almost need a Top 40 at this point -- Top 10 Heroes we want to see made into figures, Top 10 Villains we want to see made into figures, Top 10 Civilians (General Ross, Mary Jane Watson, Moira MacTaggart, etc.) we want to see made into figures, and Top 10 previous Marvel Legends figures who need to be re-released after being impossible to find the first time around (I'm looking at you, Warlock B.A.F. wave Jim Lee Cyclops -- and the upcoming three-pack Cyclops with the non-removable bomber jacket isn't the same).

Thanks for reading and I hope you all have a wonderful day.

Boy Blunder 10-07-2019 12:15 PM

Our local Walgreens just put together the Marvel end cap display, and while there's no Emma or Dani is sight, they do have devoted pegs in that display.

Time to check on my way to work every day.

Same here...kinda. I’ve stopped in several over the last few days, and have seen a Marvel endcap at all. Only one had the pegs/tags for Moonstar and Emma.
