Are the movie cars just mixed in with the regular Hot Wheels cars? I saw a few people post the Batmobile recently so I've started looking at the Hot Wheels aisle, but I'm not sure if I'm looking for a special rack or if I should be sifting through the misc cars. The MOTU cars have their own peg, so I thought these might too?

MeGrimlock79 02-06-2012 09:44 AM

They are mixed in...I've also got the BTF Delorian and they also have a Ecto-1 from ghostbusters and the van from A-Team. They usually put some kind of TV themed vehicle out each year so not sure what they have planned for this year as those are the 4 biggest ones other then maybe the General Lee from Dukes of Hazard which would be easy to do seeing as how they already have a Dodge Charger in their assortment

Forgive the blurry pic, as I was shaking with excitement. Awesome toy and definitely recommended.

Also got Minimates Deadpool/Dante on clearance for $5.00. :)

I have the Batman, BTTF and A-Team Hot Wheels. Haven't seen Ecto-1 at all yet. I would love to pick that up along with a General Lee.

Thanks for the info. So these are (or they could be) in stores right now? All of those? Or am I just wasting my time looking?

If so than yes, they're either out on pegs or in the back of the stores of Target. You may need to ask them to bring them out if you have the DCPI code for them.

Nah you're not. Nothing Marvel related to really hunt so might as well Hunt for the Cons:P

Totally is! I got all 4 over the weekend, did you use the HTS 3.00 off coupon as well? They work for them.
I wasn't going to get this line, but why not:P

They're mixed in with the other hot wheels. There's also an A-Team van and Ghostbusters car for this series. I haven't seen those

Not sure if you'll find the Ecto-1 at retail b/c it was released a few years ago...I think it was the Batman, Ecto-1, Delorian, and then the A-Team van last year.

Not sure about Ecto-1 (I've never seen it) or the Arkham Batmobile either, since the latter one came out a couple years ago, but the Deloren and the A-Team van should still be fairly easy to find.

I have an extra Delorean on card, though, if you can't find it locally.

Do they work at retail, or is it only online? I found Wheeljack locally at Target. Also had BB and CJ, but I didn't have enough cash on me to buy them as well. I will eventually still get them, of course.

I was stoked ever since we saw the first promo pics of the line. And so far, I've been very impressed with the TF Prime toys and will probably attempt to go completionist with it (at least mold-wise).

Optimus Vader 02-06-2012 12:44 PM

Thanks for the Hot Wheels info, gents. I'll take a look.

You can use those HTS coupons at retail. They have pads of them laying out in TRU's by me...

this whole going to target and asking to have them bring out stock is stupid imo,so come feb. 26th when target says they will be putting these on the shelves the only thing there will be 20 bb,s.have some patience already.

MeGrimlock79 02-06-2012 12:55 PM

Speaking of the Hot Wheels, I've got like 7 different Batmobiles ranging from the original one back from the 60's show all the way up to Arkaham Asylam....I'll take a pic of them tonight if you want to see the different variations.

Do it up. If anyone doesn't want to see them they should go kill themselves.

They finally put those Starwars 3 paacks on clearance , just under $10.00 each. I will check back next week to see if they go lower.

OV just answered that for you, and yes they do, bring multiple though because only one works for one. Going to try multiple ones later, I just grabbed them all cause I figure I may not see them again.

As a MOC collector, I really dig the blue carded FE one's...And those are a bit easy to complete, even though chasing them now is a pain...should have grabbed them when I first saw them at TRU, didn't realize they would be discontinued so fast.

Agreed, but to fight off the scalper's it may be necessary it seems like. You should check out the TFW board, everyone almost was doing so...

Man, if you could pull off some real Doom powers and threaten Scalpers away I would be in complete agreement with you.

I have a story I want to share that I hope you will all read.

It wasn't until my recent ML haul that I realized the truth. I was so excited at the return of ML because I wanted to build my 6" Modern Avengers and Uncanny X-Force that I went to the nearest TRU I could find on the day they released. I got there and found 1 Extremis Iron Man with a whole column of empty pegs. I went and asked a clerk if there were more in stock, she laughed and said "You're kidding right? These sell out the second the doors open on shipment days. Its just one big race to the boys section."

I thought she was exacerbating and just frustrated with work or something and could care less about some collector and his woes with toys. While all of the above may still have been true, her comment to me completely reinforced the phrase, "The truth hurts" when I went back two days later. I took an early lunch because of a change in meeting time and decided I might as well see what the fuss about TRU at open was all about.

I shit you not fellow Arkers...there was 8 dudes standing by their parked vehicles on cell phones waiting for the doors to open. I managed to follow behind a mother who was waiting to exchange some toddler item and made it in the doors before everyone else and just made a bee line to the Marvel section. VIOLA! Full pegs of ML and it was glorious! I grabbed the ONLY Ghost rider and took only one of each figure I actually wanted and didn't even bother with constrictor or klaw.

I grabbed and bolted to the register to pay and leave, however, all the clerks were in a meeting so I had to wait. I decided I didn't like the paint apps on Steve rogers so I went back to the aisle to see if there was a better...you all know the drill. The second I hit the aisle it was packed with dudes all waiting their turn to scavenge the pegs. The first thing I hear is "I guess they didn't release a ghost rider in this box..." one guy turns sees it in my hand and 3 guys start asking if i grabbed any variants, I say there was no variants and then as I walk away one guy asks if he can just "see the ghost rider"...it was kinda creepy. Then he got on his phone saying that this wasn't the variant wave. Finally I get to the parking lot and one guy offers me $25 for ghost rider, I laughed got in my car and got the hell out of there.

That's because they're really just collectors. If you've ever met a collector who resells their stuff at any point in their lives for more money than they paid, a lot of fellow collectors would call them a scalper.

My score! I'm very psyched for these, though I'm not sure I'll ever look inside the Invaders set. It's taped neatly shut... MOC OCD what are you doing to me?!?!?

I haven't seen a scalper either I don't think...a SW collector though over the weekend, we both hit the same stores which was funny.

Ha ha, mine wasn't taped when I got mine, which was fine though cause I did pull them out to read the cards. Great artwork for sure.

KshatriyaNZ666 02-07-2012 12:49 AM

They actually have Hot Wheels (along with Matchbox - I don't bother with those though) at my nearest Dollar Tree store. Picked up a '69 Dodge Charger with 'Ocala, Florida' police deco and Eevil Weevil from the '11 Thrill Racers sub series.

As for that AA Batmobile, I've pretty much seen it all the time, just about everywhere. Picked mine up at a Stop & Shop actually, thinking I'd never see it again. I've also been scouring for that Ecto-1 for who knows how long....:(

behindthemask 02-07-2012 12:53 AM
