I though we were past getting normal sized figures as the BAF, I don't even want Demogoblin but on principle I'm insulted. Except for Vulture this entire wave is a pass for me, maybe if the price drops I'll get the Ends of the Earth armored Spidey too.

hasbroherofan 10-26-2019 11:58 AM

I'm glad the BAF is Demogoblin since all I really want out of this wave are Shang-Chi, Armored Spidey and maybe Superior Ock.

Also people thought we were getting an Armadillo BAF?

Shang-Chi!

...Armadillo has been an underground want for years. I am a member of that particular club, but only if we also get Porcupine.

warmachine6 10-26-2019 01:11 PM

I'm happy that i can replace my winter solider now, i have the two pack which had medicore articulation, hopefully this one comes with swapable hands, wonder if hes a tease for an avengers wave.

Most likely he'll be in the Black Widow wave.

That’s exactly what I was thinking. On that subject I am really ready for them to reveal her wave. On the Spidey wave all I want is White Rabbit And Vulture.

I’m the opposite. I just want Demogoblin, couldn’t care less about the rest in the wave. Oh well. I’m not paying the $75+ aftermarket price. Glad I reduced my marvel legends collection to just a few characters. This is getting insulting.

I’m with ya. I want demogobby but i also want vulture and white wabbit!

Whoever is working the Spider-Man section of Hasbro really needs to be replaced. I'm sick of these under-whelming Spider-Man assortments. The Molten Man wave was slightly better than the Kingpin wave, but this has been a pretty lousy year for Marvel Legends' Spider-Man series. The new wave is just as disappointing, with only the Vulture being the lone "must-buy" for me of the bunch. I'm not a fan of the two Spider-Men selections, I dislike the Superior Spidey AND Ock status quos that Marvel tried to give to Doc Ock so Superior Ock with the too-skinny tentacles is an easy pass, White Rabbit's cool but not a "must-buy" for me, and I don't know Shang-Chi well enough to get excited about him.

Also, Demogoblin being the Build-A-Figure for the spring Spider-Man wave has to be the dumbest selection since the infamous Jubilee Build-A-Figure. Fans have been wanting a new Demogoblin for years, and we get a great figure -- but he'll be $120 if you buy all six figures. I hate the argument that Build-A-Figures give you a "free" figure, when A.) not everyone wants all of the figures from that wave, B.) nobody can afford to shell out $120 or so to buy all of the figures just to get the B.A.F. character, or C.) the Build-A-Figure character itself may not be someone fans know and/or want to buy. It's bad enough to still see Six-Armed Spideys, Black Cats, and even some Jackals sit unsold on pegs, and I'm sure some of this wave will have its own share of shelf-warmers.

If the retro/vintage Spider-Man wave does happen next year, I'm expecting to see A-list, fan-requested characters for the entire line (like classic Chameleon, bendable tentacles Doc Ock, classic Electro, classic Green Goblin, classic Shocker, a multi-poseable classic Spider-Man, "Amazing Friends" Firestar, classic Hobgoblin, etc.). If Hasbro doesn't extend their deal to make Marvel figures and they lose the license in late 2020, then I don't want to see their Spider-Man line end with such a whimper. It's been a long time since I went to stores, saw a new wave of "Marvel Legends: Spider-Man" figures in stock, and was excited to buy more than one or two figures from that specific wave. Since Spider-Man's my favorite superhero of all, I hope Hasbro does a better job with their character selection for the next wave(s) of Spider-Man figures.

TheBlueMarvel 10-26-2019 05:47 PM

I'll get the Vulture and I want even more Master of Kung Fu beyond this. I'm on the fence with Demogoblin, but do like the glider a lot. Maybe I'll grab a cheap one if I can, possibly Ock and Rabbit as well. I'm happy with Shang and hope the hands can be used with Danny somehow, or maybe another track-suit Shang...

That's nice, I guess. But I never cared about him. Always seemed like one of those EXTREEEEEME 90s dudes I don't have any interest in. Same goes for most of those Symbiotes they've been doing who aren't Venom or Carnage.

I'm really impressed with this one. The amount of hands they included is cool.

Bucky looks like he's using the Killmonger/Netflix Punisher legs.

I actually like the sculpt on those. If Hasbro ever does a 6-inch GI Joe series, they'd have some good parts to choose from, lol.

We get that you want these characters (even though 90 percent of those do-overs are really not necessary.) Must you mention them with nearly every post? Just saying...

Six armed Spidey didn't come with a BAF part to be fair...but I'm just being nitpicky there.

I cant see why they wouldn't work with Danny...they look like the same identical sets of hands that came out with the white and gold Iron Fist (Hulkbuster wave I think?)

Yeah, the glam-rock hair and Jordache/Members Only jackets weren't/aren't my faves either. The only over the top outfit from that period that I want is Doc Samson's red leather green mullet/ponytail get-up.

Yeah, I'm really looking forward to it, obviously. That said, on second blush I can see that the extra hands are from the Odin Wave Iron Fist and likely won't be usable with either of the recent Danny figs.

Yes!!! I love this.
And I have used those legs for my custom ML Joes, and reavers

Yeah, Odin wave, but that's the fig. Even if they fit the peg holes (unlikely with the swivel attachment), they won't look right with the wrapped wrists...

Got this set from GameStop. Love the figures. Not so much love for the re-used accessories. The effects looks fine when they're just with one figure, but having both displaying the same effect in the same set just doesn't work for me. Swapped out the Polaris effects with the ones that came with DC Multiverse Starfire. I like it.

I had that same thought the first time I saw those Starfire effects

Jay C posted some promo shots of Demogoblin and Winter Soldier. Demogoblin will have a flight stand similar to the hover stands used for the Black Series speeder bikes. It looks like it would raise the glider 3” off the ground.

Winter Solider’s cybernetic arm is new rather than a reuse of the MCU arm.

Edit: The display shots for earlier today show DG’s glider with the stand. Not sure how I completely missed it.

StuartGreen2019 10-26-2019 09:51 PM

@Trivial Psychic: I do repeat myself, I admit, and sorry if I repeated myself too much. But of the characters I've mentioned, I don't see how they're "unnecessary". We haven't actually had classic figures of Electro and Shocker in years, Chameleon and Green Goblin now go for insane prices on Ebay and Amazon for those who missed them the first time around, and so on. It's true Six-Armed Spidey didn't have a Build-A-Figure piece, but it's still a lesser-wanted figure that still sits on shelves. Also, part of Six-Armed Spidey's problem was it wasn't accurate to the comics. In the comics, Spidey's arms are bare through the holes in his suit. This looks more like the Mutant X reality version of Spider-Man. I still think that we need more popular figures for the next Spider-Man wave, is all I was trying to say.

@jwyss234 - I like Winter Soldier's new arm and especially Demogoblin's flight stand. I just wish Demogoblin wasn't the Build-A-Figure. If he'd been sold separately as a regular figure, he would've been with the Vulture as a "must-buy". It's a shame they didn't include Demogoblin in the Morbius or Venom waves next year. I feel that would've been a better fit for the character. If they were going to do a Build-A-Figure for the Spider-Man wave, I would've preferred to have seen a character like Man Mountain Marko, Stegron or even Ox from the Enforcers.

That said, I'm curious to see who they'll actually include in the Venom and Morbius toy waves next year. I'm assuming Shriek will be in the Venom wave due to the sequel next year, with Carnage and Shriek being in the film, but would they make a new Carnage figure or just re-release the previous one? With Morbius, I'd love to see Werewolf by Night, Dracula or even classic Doctor Strange. Then again, I'd just love to see more of the horror characters of the Marvel Universe get new figures.

It'd be weird if they re-release Carnage again in the next Venom wave, the first Venom wave already featured a redo of the Ultimate Goblin wave figure with additional weapon hands and a Cletus head so I really doubt they'd release him a third time outside of a vintage wave. I think we could get a new Carnage based on one of his modern looks or Ultimate Carnage.

I'm imagining we're going to have to wait for Dr Strange 2 to get a classic comic Strange figure. As for the possible Morbius wave, I could see them doing a single figure with alternate heads to knock out Werewolf by Night and Vermin at once built on the Jackal body with minimal new parts.

Nutimus Prime 10-27-2019 03:03 AM

I have an extra Dani to trade if anyone's interested.

I'm disappointed by Demogoblin. I think it looks cool but isn't the head the same as the alternate that came with Hobgoblin? I can't compare. I'm headed to work so correct me if I'm wrong. So they added a belt and a bit of sculpt with a glider and think that qualifies as a BAF? The cynic in me worries that all these regular sized BAF waves have been tests to see how much they could get away with.

Captain Nash 10-27-2019 05:18 AM

Well, Super Skrull's been revealed as the F4 BAF. I'm not sure I'm going to get this wave beyond just Doom. I'm really on the fence about it.

Also revealed was Spymaster, I'm assuming for the Black Widow wave. I like these lower tier villains so I'll probably get him even though he was nowhere near my radar.
