Of just the canon characters that have been redone since the Return of Marvel Legends in waves/multi-packs/box-sets:

Colossus - 2
Juggernaut - 2
Havok - 2
Cyclops - 7
Jean - 6
Cable - 2 (3 if you count Stryfe)
Psylocke - 2
Angel - 4
Mystique - 2
Sabretooth - 2
Beast - 2
Iceman - 3
Jubilee - 2
Storm -3
Magneto - 3
Magik - 2
Dazzler - 2
X-23 - 2

(thought to include Wanda - 2, but I view her as more of an Avenger redraft)

I've, of course, left out Wolverine and Deadpool because I can't recall off the top of my head how many there have been. And we are certain to see more revisits as we move forward.

Based on this quick list, the X-men might just be the most egregious example for Hasbro's redraft exploits.

Edit: not a fan of the character, but Strong Guy looks pretty damn awesome.

Ha yes, we've had quite a run of X-Men redos and new costumes. I guess what I meant was that applying the X-Men exclusion (X-Clusion?) for the preference of new vs. remakes to the time when we were just starting to get X-product again in 2016. Three years later they've come a LONG way to updated everything that's already been released.

Honestly to me there's only about a dozen remakes/alternate outfits I'd like to see redone for the X-verse, the rest of my wants is heavily skewed to completely new characters, just like it is for the other corners of the Marvel universe. Total, including those 12 X-Men wants, I think I have a list of about 30 redos and alternate outfits I'd like to see done.

And yeah I agree on Wolverine and Deadpool. I think 90% of our collective wants for those characters is taken care of. But, like Cap, Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, Spider-Man, and now even Daredevil and Black Widow I'd say, we know there will be more down the line.

My main point being, and this IS just my opinion only, I think I'm pretty near the end of needing second figures of existing characters. Getting an entire wave of F4 figures, of 6 figures even not even 7 figures, and the BAF all being redos/new outfits, is a mostly easy pass for me because of that. But as I said before, Doom is too good to pass up and part of that is because all the Dooms we have are lacking. I can't say that for the rest of the F4, this She Hulk doesn't fill the niche for what I'd want for a remade She Hulk figure, and I still think the TB super Skrull holds up well. But again, YMMV.

If Hasbro spread the team out over two waves each year, then it wouldn’t feel so repetitive. Depending on the number of figures in each wave, we could get 12-14 F4 figures each year. Only four of those would be the F4 while the remaining 8-10 would be characters related to them.

Something that should be taken into account with the FF thing is that in this case, the line-up was likely chosen to appease retailers. The Fantastic Four have not had any sort of mainstream pop culture presence in quite a while; their last TV show was close to a decade and a half ago and their last movie (which bombed) was four years ago now. That's not to mention a lack of video games and the like.

So they're not a strong brand right now like the Avengers, Spider-Man or the X-Men, and it was likely decided that any retail wave for the franchise had to have the four leads themselves plus Doctor Doom, since he's their most popular villain. Even with She-Hulk, the Hasbro reps basically all but confirmed her inclusion was due to it being announced that she was coming to the MCU.

There are definitely some lesser known characters I'm sure fans would've liked to see like the Mole Man, Wyatt Wingfoot or the Wizard, but coming out with the big guns blazing makes sense.

I totally agree. The only thing I wish was tweaked is that Sue had a solid-colored arm. Other than that, this will be a hard set to beat. Although the accessories on the new Sue are pretty sweet.

I'm right there with 'ya. Doom is my only must-have of this wave. Would love to have the Super Skrull, but with him being the BAF, it doesn't seem like that's in the cards for me. Not sweating it, though.

This is actually a really good point, and one that I think we may tend to overlook sometimes. I could understand them releasing a F4 wave of figures with a deeper character selection when the MCU finally gets around to releasing a movie. I'm happy that they're doing as much as they've done this past year ( and next ). It actually gives credence to the theory that Hasbro is pumping out as many "essentials" as possible while they still have the license. Not to say that they'll lose the Marvel license, but you never know.

Personally, I'm just happy to have a solid roster of what I consider to be the heavyweight characters of the Marvel Universe in figure form. Almost every essential character has been checked off my list.

There is something off about the GAMEVERSE red white and blue spidey. I like the first one more.

Yep, I just preordered Doom and Vulture on Pulse.

En Sabah Nerd 10-27-2019 10:47 PM

I am so glad that Doom is two per case, that should make getting him a bit easier.

DiscoJ 10-27-2019 10:47 PM

Spy Master?

Really?

REALLY?

lordbest 10-27-2019 11:26 PM

Just White Rabbit and Shang Chi for me from the Spider-man wave.

I'm not a huge FF fan but I'm enjoying the new run and it's a fine looking wave with good looking BAF so I'll get the case. I know this will be a minority view but I'm most excited for the grey JenHulk, followed by Doom.

SymbiSpidey 10-27-2019 11:36 PM

So that Demogoblin wave is sorta weak to me, despite definitely wanting 3 out of the six figures (Shang Chi, Vulture and White Rabbit). The BAF is disappointing to me (Demogoblin could have been a single carded release), I don't care for the two PS4 suits they chose (the Anti-Ock suit would have been great) and I'm just not as excited for Superior Octopus as I initially was and I can't put a finger on it. Maybe it's just because of the context of the rest of the wave. I don't know, I think replacing one of the Gamerverse figures with a Mr. Negative would have done wonders. It's crazy to me how we have 3 of the suits from the game but not one of the core antagonists, who could serve as both a comic and video game figure. Even more baffling is that it'd be an incredibly easy repaint. Maybe I'm just reaching that point of not getting excited for Spider-Man waves anymore because they've covered about 90% of the figures I want.

The Fantastic Four wave, on the other hand, is looking like the best wave of figures that I mostly don't need. What I mean is that I pretty much already have my definitive Fantastic Four in my preferred looks so this wave isn't personally appealing to me. But the figures came out great and I do like the designs of the new suits. She-Hulk is, again, a figure that looks great but isn't my preferred look. But....Doom looks phenomenal and we're finally getting a Super Skrull and it looks great. Some people are upset it's the BAF but I can understand why, since it has a fair bit of new tooling and interchangeable parts (thank goodness Hasbro didn't do him like they did Sandman). I think I could get behind preordering the full wave since I'm just happy to see Fantastic Four getting some love again. Hopefully they follow up with a wave 2 featuring the Negative Zone suits and some more classic villains.

Winter Soldier is a much needed redo and I'm beyond thrilled to add him to the collection, especially now that we have a pretty much perfect Captain America (IMO). Spymaster....I have not a goddamn clue who this character is, but I'm always happy to see lesser known characters get representation in the line and it's an opportunity to learn more about a character that I otherwise might not have known about.

But really...the winner of this weekend for me is seeing Strong Guy. That looks like one of the best BAFs Hasbro has done yet. It looks like it leapt straight off the comic pages! I'm just upset that I'll have to wait until late next year to add him to my X-Factor roster...

Captain Nash 10-28-2019 07:11 AM

Well looks like I missed out on Dorkside singles for the three figures I wanted. The page is still there for Doom but it keeps erroring out on the cart. Singles for Vulture and Shang Chi are not showing on the page but the links Shoo2 provided still work- thanks for those links! - but my guess is they are sold out.

Resorted to ordering through Amazon for now. If they come back up on Dorkside I'll order through them instead but I've had good luck through Amazon as my secondary go-to. I'll keep the second Doom though as one always needs a Doombot!

tierneygreen 10-28-2019 07:49 AM

I put in my order for Doom and Vulture on Pulse shortly after midnight. For some reason White Rabbit wasn’t listed, so I ordered her off Amazon. Doom looks off the charts awesome. I would like the Super Skrull, but I have no interest at all in the rest of that wave.

Spyne98 10-28-2019 07:49 AM

Is White Rabbit up on Pulse? Or Invisible Woman for that matter? They were the only ones I couldn't find.

Maverick 10-28-2019 08:51 AM

Finally was able to find 3 moonstars this morning at a Walgreens I normally dont visit feels good. They also had a ton of the new general kenobi.

Boy Blunder 10-28-2019 09:21 AM

Seeing the new promo photo, I might bite on the Vulture. He's kooky.

If worrying about characters that could potentially shelfwarm was an issue for Legends, about 80 percent of these characters likely wouldn't be made. I could make a house out of all the leftover Lashers and Screams I've seen near me, lol.
