I'd love to see a beastwars movie. just my 2cents.

Thats crazy. This has always been my argument about the TF movies. How dope would it had been for the first one to be set in the 80's? Bay could've squeezed in all the cheesy jokes he wanted to and it probably would've actually been funny considering the era (the way we talked and dressed). The only person who obviously would have to be changed is Megatron. The first movie should have basically been like the first episode of the G1 series. First hour on Cybertron, 2nd hour battling on Earth. Only a hand full of humans. 2nd movie introduce the Dinobots. 3rd finish up on Cybertron. You can't tell me they still wouldn't have sold the same amount of toys. Most likely, with kids going crazy over the movies regardless os how dumb it is, they would have sold better because hardcore G1 guys would have scooped these up quick. A G1 inspired Starscream or Bumblebee with Bay-esque robot kibble? Id buy that quick.

Sorry guys. I didn't mean for my Bay bashing to hijack the thread.

In all honesty I just didn't feel like TMNT was a movie that needed a reboot, unless they were going to do the classic comic adaptation or something where they all had the red headbands.

I need me some classic Bebop and Rocksteady though and would love to see a good movie version of these two.

TMNT 1 and 2 were good movies, TMNT 3... not so much. I personally loved the designs of the turtles and the gritty feel the first 2 movies gave, a revamped 1 and 2 would be good, but I don't need this to be the same result as the Indy revamp *barf, crystal skull my ass.

There was a 3rd movie? Kidding :p

But I agree the first two were pretty enjoyable for me.

Technically, the TMNT movie discussion should be in its own thread too, since this thread's supposed to be about the new toy lines.

Anyway, back to the toys. I picked up Nick April the other day. Still haven't opened her and debating if I want to even bother. I've got the four Turtles and the van, which was my original goal with the Nick TMNT line, but now I'm starting to get that completionist itch. Thankfully, it's just for the figures and not the rest of the vehicles.

Shredder and Footsoldier are worth your time, IMO. THey suffer a bit from "LOLPLAYMATES" disease, but not as badly as Kraang, April and Splinter.

trebleshot 09-28-2012 12:29 PM

I might get them next and save Splinter and Kraang for a sale or something.

I heard on twitter that the new figures are out. Dogpound, Fishface, and Metal Head. I have no direct proof of this.

Only evidence aside from heresay is this auction: Nickelodeon Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Metalhead | eBay

Located in Cali, so not an overseas early release or "sample"

Same seller has Dogpound listed as well.

Whoa!! I havent even seen a pic and here he is on eBay in the US!!! Cool

Symbiote 09-28-2012 03:39 PM

Whoa that figure looks awesome!!!

Optimus Vader 09-28-2012 04:59 PM

I've actually been checking over the past week thinking the next wave had to be soon. And it's not like stores don't have a reason to order more of these. This line has been moving steadily everywhere I check. That BOGO 50% sale TRU ran last week really cleared things out.

T16skyhopp 09-28-2012 09:55 PM

Even w/ "lolplaymates" syndrome I'm in for Metalhead. Nick showed the first TMNT ep tonight as a preview. Friggan great.

Why wasn't this shit advertised? As far as I had been told there wasn't going to be one, that's why they made 9/29 perfectly clear in all ads... and only now I'm finding out they *did* do it.

I dunno, I just set the series to tape on my DVR which caused me to notice it. I think it two eps for the proper premiere, just one for the preview.

jaybird7072 09-29-2012 07:24 AM

Saw the preview episode last night and i thought it was pretty good. Boy do i want that metalhead....

megajonzero 09-29-2012 10:04 AM

I saw the new episode and it was awesome

FaustX 09-29-2012 10:46 AM

Yep new episode was solid but this new Bay script is looking intensely, irrevocably bad!

Well that's my problem I guess. I don't have one of them newfangled things.

I ended up seeing the full 2 parter today anyway, so it's all good. The only advantage to being sicker than shit this morning.

I saw several ads for it over the last month or so on Nick and NickToons. *shrugs*.

Sorry, but Bay didn't write the script either. That honor goes to Andre Nemec and Josh Appelbaum. Please direct any further Ninja Turtles discussion to this thread:

Thanks for the heads up on these.

Symbiote 10-01-2012 01:20 PM

I'm not too familiar with fishface or the other character they are releasing. I want to see bebop, rocksteady, casey jones, and baxter the fly.

jestermon 10-01-2012 03:19 PM

So I guess Metalhead still has no elbows or knees and such.

topnotch97 10-01-2012 03:45 PM

anyone knows if those TechDeck skateboards are compatible with the Turtles?
