Hope Doctor Strange and the FF boxset turns up at BBTS soon.

Thanks to the person who posted the link to the cheap Nick Fury eBay auction I've now got him (cheers!). When he arrived with his silly mouth expression I felt obliged to make a cigar for him so here it is:

(As people appreciated the table cloth I'd though I'd use it again!)

That was done on purpose, actually. I remember the Q&A about it (back when it wasn't a joke). Fury needs his cigar, but Hasbro has a firm "no tobacco products" policy for their products. (along with a lot of other things. See all the grief Wizards of the Coast went through with D&D, or the Indiana Jones line) So as a compromise, they sculpted him with a mouth that could hold a non existent cigar accessory, so fans could more easily make their own.

Yeah I kinda guessed that!

I guess it was tough to make it look good without a cigar whilst still being able to hold one.

I was able to snag a Skaar today thanks to a forum member on tfw2005 looking out for me by stashing it.
I think Optimus posted a similar picture to the first one below and I thought it looked pretty damn cool. Also a few random shots.

Awesome pics!

Optimus Vader 07-14-2011 08:01 AM

Nice bruiser battle, omega. Do you like Skaar's hands? I'm not sure if it's my imagination, but it feels like they used a more rubbery plastic on his hands.. and I mean this is a good way, not like movie line knees or anything. Skaar's hands feel like they could never be stretched or stressed. Very durable.

My contribution for the day is a bruisers update picture..
http://i855.photobucket.com/albums/a...sersJune13.jpg

Maybe not the most poseable, but I think the big guys in this line have some of the best scuplts and detail.

omega145 07-14-2011 08:44 AM

I agree on Skaar having better hands. He's able to grip the weapons better. I put the WW Hulk axe in Skaar's hand and he's able to grip it unlike Hulk. I will say that WWH is more posable which I like.

Nice group shot, I just need that SS Venom. Overall, they are all great figures with a lot of details in them. The showdown Thing is a better figure though.

You could add in red hulk, grey hulk, hulkbuster, iron monger to that bruiser pic.

neatogecko 07-14-2011 09:05 AM

The Lizard figure from the Spiderman line would fit in with the bruisers too. He's a larger format figure kind of like Venom (although I don't think he's quite as large as SS Venom). Although in a comic accurate sense I don't really consider Lizard to be a bruiser.

Optimus Vader 07-14-2011 10:56 AM

I keep passing on the other colored Hulks, omega. I'm inching closer towards that red one though. I have the single carded regular Hulk too, but I only keep one of every character out (usually).

I'm trying, gecko. Lizard is definitely on my list. I can't find anything from the Spidy line. I JUST found Rhino last Fri, and the SS Venom I bought from a marvelousnews.com member.

omega145 07-14-2011 11:44 AM

I did the same thing until I went on a Marvel Universe and Hulk binge. The Red Hulk is actually very cool and Im a fan of his face sculpt.

Im going to have to gather the hulks when I get home tonight to get a good group shot for you.

Tiberius 07-14-2011 11:48 AM

I'm going to try and get pics of my Red Hulk with the upgraded paint job. I just hope my camera picks it up for you can see it. Pics coming in like 5-10 min =D

Those pics confirm it, that old Hulk mold is crap and all those older Hulks need to be remade using the current Hulk like molds.

These pics also remind me that I need a Skaar figure as well.

So, here is my adventure for the day and I didn't have to leave my house! So, I was trying to take pics of my modified Red Hulk, having some difficulties trying to pic up the minor painting I did. Then, I heard a bang on my sliding glass window...

Optimus Vader 07-14-2011 12:22 PM

Well you guys just sold me on the pissed off Red Hulk.

I'm jealous, Tiberius. When I turn and look out the window of my office right now I see the lovely paved roads of Philadelphia and the skinny jeans wearing jackasses that roam them.

Tiberius 07-14-2011 12:27 PM

Well think of it this way Vader, at least you can find MU figures =D lol.

LOL

Fair enough.

Tiberius 07-14-2011 12:37 PM

I will trade you Bambie x1 for Thanos x1. Yes yes?

I need to check with her first...

http://i855.photobucket.com/albums/a...ogueBee1YR.jpg

She likes to eat other animals :D

Tiberius 07-14-2011 12:56 PM

Nice dog! Black Lab? I am no dog expert :P. I also like your means of transportation too ;)

Optimus Vader 07-14-2011 01:58 PM

Thanks! Yup,.. she's half Lab and half Pit Bull. She basically is a shorter and stockier Lab.

..and that's RoTF Ultimate Bee by her. I'd been using him in pictures as kind of a growth scale.

Same Bee, previous year..

Cute dog dude! As a puppy shes like the size of my cat lol.

LOL. This is why I love this site.

Jason Abbadon 07-14-2011 05:36 PM

I see a big honking lizzard on the screen with my cat watching it like it was a magical Star Wars porno.

So..I went out today and found ....almost nothing!

I was suprised to see ToysRUs had gottn a new revision case- witha fig I'd never seen before- Thing in his FF dark blue and white costume! CRAP! I wish I'd had this before painting my Reed and Sue customs into a later costume!

Anyone need this variant? this would be my third Thing...and I only need one of one kind. (hint: not this one).
I juuts picked it up because I figured some Arker would go "Ohh! Ohh! ME!" with excitement.

Tiberius 07-14-2011 06:08 PM

Hahaha I've never seen one of him. I ended up painting the blue and black one into the blue and white costume, turned out great actually.
