Neat! I've really enjoyed that Batman TAS design over the years. The cowl in particular. It reminds me of the look of your avatar, which happens to be my favorite look for the Bat. If I'm not mistaken, your avatar was drawn by Neal Adams, a seminal and iconic artist who influenced many illustrators that followed him...as a kid in the early 80's, I enjoyed Bill Sienkiewicz' work on Moon Knight (and Power Man and Iron Fist) very much. I even liked when his style changed dramatically during his run on New Mutants. I bring up Bill because as I searched around for art that had a similar gritty feel, I stumbled upon back issues of Neal Adams' Batman stuff and realized that Sienkiewicz' work had to have been inspired by the earlier luminary. Long story short, my love for Moon Knight/Sienkiewicz created a love for Batman/Adams...Hopefully I guessed right on the creator of your avatar image! lol

The pic in my avatar is by Jim Aparo. He & Dick Giordano followed the steps of Neal Adams in the 70's. Aparo was the main artist on Batman when I was a kid & discovered the DC universe, what's why he is to me the ultimate Bat-artist, just like Sal Buscema is the definitive Captain America artist.
I'm also a great fan of Sienkiewicz's Moon Knight. Jerome Opeña art from the 2009 series was very reminicent of the "feel" I had with Sienkiewicz's art on MK (+ the story was great too!!).

Shows how much I know about Batman! Thanks for telling me that. Looking at Aparo's Batman art, I see the uncanny similarity (yet, still enough of a difference) in presentation of the hero. That said, I can see why you prefer him. I remember Aparo's striking covers when I was kid, in spite of being Marvel-centric. My only DC titles, at the time, were Titans and Legion of Superheroes. Wow, Aparo's stuff was inspired, I'll need to check into trades/omnibuses...

I cancelled a pre-order for a random handful of those MOTU minis, I wanted to be able to pick and choose what I got.
But damn, am I regretting not grabbing at least a few. They look awesome in that shot. Skeletor and Teela are at the top of my list.

That's very cool and I respect your craftiness (the good crafty, not the sneaky bad crafty lol). I've been thinking about picking up some paper mache to do something with Storm, but it's a fair amount of work for just one set of photos and I'm not sure I could get as many uses out of it as you might with your mini forest...
