That's probably not a bad way to go after him!

Wolverine: “Chewbacca, that better not be what I think it is, dribbling down my arm and leg...”

Puck: “Relax, eh! It’s just snot. Sasquatch has a cold!”

Nice Bo! Wolverine has never dealt well with authority figures...and yet one more quasi love triangle between Heather and Mac. ;)

Kinda...he gets interest, but the ladies never quite go his way. There're broken wings and then there's James Howlet. Only the crazies get crazy. He should have stayed with Yukio...

Watching Avengers:EMH on Disney+ reminds me pic- how many villains are still in need of thr Legend treatment!

snake5289 11-22-2019 12:13 AM

That was a solid show until about half way through the second season.

I never got around to watching EMH in full, I liked what I saw I just didn't commit to it. Returning to the subject of villains needing Legends (or redos) my list still starts with Kang but also includes classic Ultron, High Evolutionary, Annihilus, classic Helmut Zemo, and Mephisto. The list could go on but I try to keep expectations in check.

The best part of the MCU having the X-Men & Spider-Man is now they can do a movie inspired by Marvel Team-Up #74! (Which current SNL castmember would an acceptable substitute for Jim Belushi though?)

That's when Loeb took over the Marvel Animation. He never liked on-going stories in "kids shows" and immediately set about changing things and it really shows. He killed EMH in favor of that generic soup animation that brought us Ultimate Spiderman, Avengers, GotG... most of it pretty unwatchable. Yuck.

Boy Blunder 11-22-2019 10:29 AM

Avengers: EMH is really one of the only reasons I want the 80th versions of Tony, Thor, Steve, and Bruce - I want to have the lineup from the show. Otherwise, the core Avengers take a backseat for other figures I want more.

It pains me that we'll never get a Legends-style version of Wasp in that outfit.

I know. What killed it for me was the first Spider-Man episode. They get the cast of Spectacular Spider-Man to reprise all their roles and then at the last minute they replace Josh Keaton (who is THE voice of Spider-Man as far as I'm concerned) with they guy from Ultimate Spider-Man and it was a huge step down.

Wow. Shows how different people are. I totally agree with Loeb. I don't like long story shows. I don't mind seasonal storylines, but I don't like long stories. I prefer everything return to the status quo by the end of each episode. Reason being is I was never able to always catch tv shows on first airing, and I hated feeling left out on shows that forced you to watch each episode. With streaming today, it's not as hard to do, but still, I'm not a fan of having to remember what happened the last time I watched, and I hate the waste of time of "previously, on ______".

Having Disney+, I'm finally able to watch the marvel cartoons I haven't seen before, as I don't have cable or satellite. Last marvel cartoons I saw were Spectacular Spiderman and the Super Hero Squad (both not on Disney+) The cartoons available are all pretty good. Wolverine and the X-Men is probably my favorite so far, but I'm not as venomous towards the Spider-man cartoons as many on the net are. They are silly fun, as children's programming should be.

Then it must be difficult as hell to be a Marvel fan of any kind, having to know at least 10-40 years of continuity to make sense of half of what's going on :D

This has been the sentiment of my friends and I for years and largely the reason (in our opinion) that DC is far ahead of our preferred pantheon as it regards cartoons. If Marvel wants to pander to children and short attention spans, more power to them. I'm just not a fan and will continue to enjoy DC's animated universe.

On another note, Disney has much to do with why cartoons are still regarded children's vehicles here in the states. The irony is that Japanese animators learned the craft from Disney's early efforts, but years later America still hasn't grasped what the Japanese have known for a long time which is cartoons are just as viable a medium for telling adult stories as any other. In fact, due to ballooning live action production budgets, 'toons might just be more viable for certain adult themes.

Nah. You'd be surprised. My mother, in her 60's, hasn't watched ANY of the MCU before. She recently watched Thor Ragnarok on netflix. She LOVES it. Has no interest to see anything before or since.

I can't tell you how many new Marvel fans inform me, with pride even, that they don't like to read. These same people tell me I use big words, words like "ergonomics." LOL SMH My response is that the word "dictionary" is just as big of a word and it might help them with many other words they don't know that are commonly used by grownups.

Beyond what this means for comics, we are pretty much doomed as a society if the rank and file disdain literacy...kinda explains why we are where we are politically.

I agree, but my big issue is with adults that BLAME a studio for making content for kids. I know people who were PISSED and boycotting Batman Brave and the Bold, Spectacular Spider-Man, Transformers Robots in Disguise, and Teen Titans Go because they were too kiddy.

In my personal belief, anything on a channel that is aimed at kids should focus on kids. If adults like it, all the better. For instance, My Little Ponies. They didn't change things because there are now a few hundred adult Bronies on forums.

I love DC's universe for one thing... the "adult" stories are separated and they make adults pay for them. kids stuff is on tv stations and streaming. I wish Marvel and Hasbro did the same thing. If I WANT a depressed, moody, angsty Spider-Man, I can by a DVD or streaming code. If I want a kids show, I turn on Disney+ or Disney XD. I really wish Hasbro would make a Transformers disc series so that I can finally be rid of the adults who whine about how Hasbro has destroyed their childhood by making kids cartoons. This way, they can have an animated "Wreckers" story and other IDW stuff and I can enjoy content with my younger family members.

Yeah, we don't agree. Kids benefit from material that's thought provoking. Having worked with kids in a variety of capacities for a long time, I respect providing children with protection from adult subject matter, but I'd never advocate infantilizing them or dumbing down content. Shows like Rebels and Avatar are great examples of a happy medium. However, you and I seem to be talking about two different things.

I just wish they'd release that damn Zarya already. We know she's next in line! Haven't seen her hit any stores whatsoever, though.
