I saw the individual Zarya at Gamestop back in September, not as much as I saw McCree and Junkrat (who I still haven't seen that much). Either these three were way more desired or more likely stores are waiting to get rid of their wave one stock. Sadly for Overwatch fans it seems like Hasbro waited too long so the interest isn't really there anymore.

Ive seen her at walgreens and gamestops. I wouldn't hold out hope of walmart or target release. They still are one wave one of overwatch. That reinhardt is a freakin monster! I just wish gs had gotten in the green one.

Well overwatch 2 is coming so hopefully that renews some intreat. I dont like the game as it an mmo fps but i do like the character designs. Honestly i think hasbro overpriced these as Theres no baf and they are way smaller than legends, which i think a lotta people were thinking they might mix em in with their legends collection.

I have not seen a single one, at any store (Gamestop is where I've been checking the most). And even though Amazon has her, she's like $30 bucks. I'm hesitant to pay $20 as it is (not because I don't think they're worth it, but because I've got any number of Marvel Legends ahead of them in line)

Having worked with kids in a variety of capacities for a long time, I respect providing children with protection from adult subject matter, but I'd never advocate infantilizing them or dumbing down content. Shows like Rebels and Avatar are great examples of a happy medium. However, you and I seem to be talking about two different things.

You can have kid shows that are aimed at kids without "talking down" to them, such as 1990's Spider-Man, X-Men, and Batman. Those are aimed at older kids and teens. Those are "more mature" art.

You can have kid shows like Brave and Bold, Teen Titans GO, Super Hero Squad that are aimed at younger kids 7-12 year olds. Those are dorky and fun. They are fun "Saturday morning cartoons" style.

You can also have "adult" animation, like the DC Animated releases on video. Those have Nightwing giving Harley Quinn his first name and far more violence and language than any of the earlier type cartoons. My biggest issue is that I see tons of adults who get mad that any of the earlier categories get made, and they want the last category made for Cartoon Network. I'm all for a grittier line of Marvel animation or Starwars or Hasbro, but I'd rather it be paid for by adults, rather than taking away content from kids. So many manchildren sobbing that "_______ raped my childhood!" then they turn around and demand that cartoon heroes need to be grittier, darker, and cater to them, taking quality content away from the next generation.

Just a different opinion. That's all, as someone who's looking at it from being a son collecting and watching heroes with his father, as a father with kids, and as an "old man" who has seen the quality of content for children crumble even though the quantity has skyrocketed.

Hopefully OW2 does revive interest in both the gaming and collecting communities. I got heavy into the game the first year it came out but fast forward to now and the player base has dried up allowing the salt to rise to the top, I can still get into it but sometimes the other players will suck out the joy. As for the price I think they're fine, Marvel is Hasbro's only license that employs the BAF gimmick but all their other 6" collector lines are still $20. A big factor is that Legends reuse so many parts and often entire figures are just repaints of previous ones so they can easily afford to chuck in the BAF element to help push figures that might otherwise lack appeal. Lines like Overwatch and Star Wars on the other hand require a lot more individual sculpting per figure and/or lack enough large characters to even support the BAF gimmick in the long run.

Yeah, that was the point I was making with bringing up Avatar and Rebels in response to your statement, "in my personal belief, anything on a channel that is aimed at kids should focus on kids." I don't believe that content for kids needs to be vapid (i.e. Teen Titans Go - which I like for its batshit crazy). Well written stories with complexity and adult nuance can be entertaining to all audiences and there was no need for Loeb to scrap a well received show like Earth's Mightiest Heroes and replace it with junk. Especially since children would've been just fine consuming it as is (or as it was, I should say).

You said you are anti - "long story shows" and advocated "silly fun, as children's programming should be" as some sort of default setting for certain age groups. I disagree, mostly because you seem to be confusing the demographics of Disney Junior (7 and under) and the Disney Channel (6-16yrs). That said, I was reading Rom, Spidey, Moon Kinght, FF and X-men at age 7-8. Did I understand absolutely everything? Of course not. Did I thoroughly enjoy what I was reading and catch up? Obviously.

But whatevs, dude. Internet debates lost meaning for me years ago, so, feel however you want.

Zarya was released the same time as the rest of series 2 (Junkrat, McCree, and the Hanzo/Genji 2 pack and that dumb McCree/Tracer 2 pack) . Almost EVERY Walgreens I walk into has 1 or 2 of her , but I have never seen her at any other retailer.

I bought the Hanzo/Genji set, Junckrat and McCree the last time Gamestop had the 50% off sale.
Also Gamestop will be having the 25% off bag sale again Sunday -Wednesday before thanksgiving.

I'm not a huge fan of this line but I have picked up few of these as stand-ins for Marvel characters we haven't seen in Legends yet. I've been eyeing that Soldier 76/Ana two pack for awhile. I can't decide if I should get it now while it's half price at Gamestop or see if it makes it to clearance at Target.

Id grab it from gs while its cheap. Target may or may not clearance it this year, but i wouldn't hedge my bets on it. Retailers have become rather stingy when it comes to clearances.

Late to the game I know. Finally got the New Scorpion head painted but wanted to know which of the 2 scorpions would be better in the Spider man collection?

Honestly, the toybiz one is the better of the two looking at em side by side. The metallic paint on the hasbro one stands out better but overall the toybiz one has the better sculpt and height.

FYI - There's a variant of the TB fig that has a paint app with a shiny luster.

snake5289 11-23-2019 11:21 AM

That's the one I had.

I can't get over Toybiz's wonky proportions between the two. Also, classically Mac Gargan wasn't really that big. In his debut stories and McFarlane's take (which the Hasbro figure is clearly based on) he's a pretty standard-sized guy being drawn about the same size as J. Jonah Jameson originally.

Yah but the hasbro one looks TOO small. Hes bigger than pete and the Hasbro one is around the same size.

exactly, the toybiz’s skinny waist, Huge oversized hands(that are bigger then his head), And overall lankiness. The Hasbro one is 100X better imo. Face sculpt alone

Great photos! Which Flash figure are you using? I bought the Wally West that came out this year. Wish I could get a Reverse Flash at Retail.

Got some extra cash that went right into the hobby fund, getting a few pieces I've been meaning to grab. As well as the new D&D book, because Eberron is the shiznit.
