Just fyi, I clicked the icon for your pic even tho it shows as a dead link icon. It brought me to your imgur link and it gave a warning, something about your post containing erotic or adult content.

Obviously a picture of a toy Captain America on a toy motorcycle isn't anything of the sort but maybe that's why you're link broke lol.

That is very uh.....odd....haha.

Well, here goes direct posting. Sorry for it being sideways....yeesh this is why I rarely post pics.

I have found that cropping photos slightly by using the 4:3 aspect tool on your phone gallery tends to fix photos from turning sideways when you post them here.

Hey, if any of you guys are still in the market for the Walmart-exclusive Black Panther figure (the Vibranium Armor one, AKA "Pink Panther"), I stopped into a local Ross while on my lunch. They had an entire case of them out, for about $12. Check your discount stores!

Also, for the Overwatch-inclined, they had single figures for $5 and the Shimada Bros. two-pack for $10.

MeLikeJinx 12-17-2019 03:49 PM

^ Thanx for the heads up. Damn it ROSS... why you getting so stingy with your prices? Two years ago they had the entire Onslaught Cap wave for 6 bucks each... was able to build my Onslaught for so cheap. I recently saw the MU 3.75" PS4 Spidey and white suite guy 2 pack for $12.99... Gamestop cleared the other 2 packs from that wave for $5 each. And the MU comic 2 packs like the Captain Marvel one used to be like 6 or 7 dollars I think at ROSS.

But OW figs being 5 bucks at ROSS is not good for OW.

Given that most stores did the same thing that they always do, and over-ordered the first wave of Overwatch, I don't think it's indicative of anything other than them having a glut. And tbh, I only found one OW single, and it was Blackwatch Reyes, the obvious pegwarmer.

The Shimada Bros two-packs are odd, though, since I just started seeing them at retail (aside from Gamestop).

Either way, the real boggler is those Panthers. I mean, those figures are, what, almost two years old? And then Ross is just getting solid cases of them? That's crazy. The price is a bit high for what they've charged for ML in the past, but who knows, maybe it's because they have that "Walmart exclusive" sticker on them.

Bummer. I just found out tonight was the last night to donate toys for Toys for Tots. I was planning to pick up a few things this Friday when I got paid for it. :-(

Man, I was going to drop off some stuff later this week. I wish they made the deadlines more prominent.

Maybe it'll be different in your area?

I think they should extend it considering they only reached 40% of their goal this year.

Aw, that’s a bummer. They ought to extend it, if that’s the case.

TheBlueMarvel 12-18-2019 02:57 PM

Nice to see that people are thinking of others during the holidays. :thumbs

...don't forget you can always volunteer at a local shelter to be a server on Christmas day as an option. Our family has done that for Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years throughout the years. It's a nice way to connect, give back, and keep things in perspective.

Toys for Tots isn't the only one you can donate toys to. There are battered women & children shelters, any local church clergy will know local people in need of a good Christmas for their kids, as well as the local law enforcement, and maybe your own employer knows someone.

A few years ago, I worked with a guy who had the misfortune of needing a triple bipass right after thanksgiving, and his family was put through the ringer. As a department, we donated sick and vacation time to help him, as well as got toys, coats, and items for his family at Christmas. It's great to help your community, but it's even better to help someone you know.

Thanks for the tip! Found some more local charities, donated some stuff to them this afternoon. This is the way.

She and Lockjaw are two of the most prominent remaining FF-related characters who have never been in Legends in any capacity.

From what I hear, the Ms. Marvel tv show will feature some classic Inhuman character so it's possible that we get a few more members of the royal family around the time the show drops. Besides, Karnak is too easy (and too awesome) of a character not to make a figure of.

I was thinking:
Endgame Captain Marvel
Endgame Armored Thor w/ both weapons
Endgame Nebula
Endgmae/Ragnarok Miek
The Black Order (616) - Supergiant
Guardians of the Galaxy (616) Gamora in her modern white battle armor.
If going for 7 maybe Wong (Who I guess would get a figure around the next Dr. Strange film) or a Chitauri soldier
BAF - Thanos Outrider

Edit: Then again they could probably get away with an MCU classics wave to make newer versions of older movie characters. It'd fit with the Avengers era Cap that came with the Lebowski Thor wave and and allow for new Thor/Avengers 2012 Loki and Hawkeye figures and maybe allow for all the missing villains and side characters like The Warriors Three, Kaecilius, The Ancient One, Malekith, Kurse, The Shocker, Batroc, Ayesha, Korath (GotG), all the male Starforce guys who'd really only need multiple heads on the Yon-Rogg body, Whiplash, etc.

Very likely we'll see missed characters at some point. I just wonder if they'll be a special line or if they introduce them in regular waves.

I didn't really need another version of Nebula but after looking at the SH Figuarts version I'd be up for her in the Ravagers uniform. I'm assuming that's what she wore during Endgame as well.

Hard to say. Hasbro puts out "blink and you'll miss'em" characters from 30-40 year old Star Wars movies. You might say well that's Star Wars. Well, I'd wager that there are and will be generations that feel about the MCU like we felt about the Star Wars franchise when it first started. Now, if the MCU fizzles out in ten years then I can see collectors losing interest in the figures as well.

Bravo!

Has anyone found it odd that the Legendary Riders Ultimate Captain America hasn't had any significant price reductions? I can't imagine the set is that popular.

I imagine the selling point of that set for a lot of people is the realistic looking motorcycle, maybe people are buying them up to outfit their military figures? :D

Ain't really much out there in terms of 6" scale military figures and even less WW2 themed stuff. But I can relate to the idea of wanting the bike more than the figure. When I get the set, the bike is going to MCU Cap and Ultimate Cap will likely wind up as custom fodder.

Weapon X 12-19-2019 12:26 PM

That look of Cap is a famous look for him, and a lot of people including myself have been wanting a good 6 inch version of it for a long time. They released a different version a long time ago, but it was god awful. That, compounded with the bike, which is amazing for the figure himself, ad-hoc rescue MCU Cap, and for other figures, makes it a strong seller. Plus, it ain't really easy to find.

Yeah, beyond the Plan B toyline from the early 2000's, it's pretty much just Call of Duty figures and whatever 6" GI Joe derivative Kickstarters are out there haha

Plan B....man I wish I could get my hands on some of those figures...

jwyss234 12-20-2019 02:26 PM

Picked up Superior Ock today. I can confirm that the tentacles are NOT bendable. I tried bending them and they sprang back into place.

Not really that hard to find 'em. I've amassed a collection of a couple dozen in the past two years. I even think you can still buy surplus stock directly from Plan B.

Trivial Psychic 12-20-2019 03:53 PM

Finally had my pile of loot sent from BBTS to close out the year. Here's a couple of thoughts...

https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...3a5c84_c_d.jpg
  • Punisher War Machine: Decent repaint of the Civil War version, though it carries the legacy issues over the previous rendition had. I may end up gluing the weapons attachments into place. Wish Hasbro could have been bothered to paint the skull on the helmet.
  • Nemesis/Urban Punisher: Really good kitbash here, and both of the headsculpts are dynamite. I always said the "Jim Lee" headsculpt reminded me of Dolph Lundgren, but with this paint scheme, it really shows. I actually prefer it over the Nemesis paint deco. Easily my favorite Punisher figure, and one of my top ten Legends figures of the year.
  • Cyclops: Not a version of the figure I really needed, as I already have a cloth goods jacket for my other Cyclops, but I do like the casual headsculpts. I hate the bright yellows used, but I'm glad they actually got his bandolier to fit properly this time around.
  • Jean Grey: A nice update, but the headsculpts which were the biggest selling point, left me underwhelmed. The eyes and lips have a certain amount of slop to them. I spent a bit of time trying to touch them up. The hands look small as well. Still a step up from the Rocket Raccoon version. The heads from this figure also work with the RR version...if you are willing to do a paint touch up to the cowl.
  • Wolverine: Figure I definitely didn't need, but shocker, it's my third favorite Wolverine this year, behind First Appearance and X-Force. I really like the colors of this one so much more over the original Tiger Stripe Wolvie. The bone claws on one hand tend to keep popping out as well...I might need to glue it in.
  • Polaris: It's okay. I'm not huge on the character, but this figure is done pretty well. It came out way better than Jean.
  • Havok: Was actually impressed with how this turned out, as I can't find much to complain about outside the comically small hands. I had a set of spare wristbands from the Vintage Samurai Wolvie for fodder, which do a good job hiding the gaps. I hate these legbands though, and wish Hasbro had just opted to sculpt them on Havok and Cyclops as opposed to this rubbery, ill fitting, fidgety slop.
  • Big Time Spidey: I'm glad to see this costume re-released, as I hated the look on the original figure. It wasn't without it's let downs though, as mine has some sort of black staining on the left eye that keeps it from being nearly perfect. Only thing keeping it out of my yearly top 10.

I wonder if that's changed in the last few years. Used to look for the Swat and fireman ones, and would scarcely find them listed, and when I did it would be really expensive.

Has anyone started watching the Witcher yet? Critics are absolutely roasting it, but I’m loving it so far. I put some hours into the Witcher 3, and feel like they pulled it off with the Netflix series.
