Honestly if I could take Weber and put him in Kubrick's version it would be nearly perfect. |

Never saw Surfer, as far as I can remember. Quote:
For me, it’d take a lot of work to get my perfect version. Who knows, maybe now that It and Pet Cemetery came out, the shining will get a reboot... |

Not to mention the cinematography, music, look of the hotel, and acting were better in Kubrick's too. |
Well it doesn't look like I'll be getting Doom until next year, so I'm going to go ahead and do my top 10. This was a hard year to do that list. There were so many good figures I could have easily done a top 20. So it's not that the figures not on here weren't good, I just had to juggle finally getting some key figures and getting some great figures redone or new costumes. And yes, this is very X-centric since that is where most of the really good stuff came into play for me.
10. Mister Sinister - really didn't think we were getting him this year, but we did and while the update wasn't as much needed as others, he still kicks ass. 9. Blink - my main question was how they would pull off the skin tone, and it really really works. 8. Ebon Maw - really amazing sculptwork on this and the below. 7. Corvus Glaive - ditto as above. 6. Moonstar - It's not that the figure itself is amazing, but she's been in my top 10 and then top 5 for so long, I had to include her somewhere. 5. Professor X - Nothing much to say, we all know he was perfect for the riders seris. 4. Nightcrawler - Another figure that, until NYTF, I thought we wouldn't see until 2020. He's so well done. 3. Mystique - When she was released originally I thought she would end up being figure of the year for me, so it's pretty close. Really solid well done sculpt. 2. Jim Lee Storm - I REALLY wanted to put this at #1. She's so well done but there's little things that end up putting her at runner up, like the cape being soft fabric and the difficulties in getting her to stand up. Plus.... 1. Beast. There's no way I couldn't put this guy at #1. He was not a crucial redo from Toybiz to Hasbro, but my goodness, they absolutely killed it. Granted a calm head sculpt would have been nice, but that doesn't take away from the magnificence of this figure. BAF: Hasbro really didn't come off all that great with the BAF this year, IMO. I didn't complete half of them, and some of the ones I did complete were just okay (Caliban) to "meh, I'll keep it" (Wendigo). That said, there was really ever one contender for BAF of the year and like others, it's Kingpin. Of course. Worst figure of the year: even though it was a great year, there were still some boring figures, but really, only one "bad" figure to me and that's Cannonball. Which, he would have probably made top 10 if they'd just included legs. Such a bad, bad, cheap move on Hasbro's part. Set of the year: Alpha Flight. While none of those figures make my top 10, the sheer mix of ballsiness and fan service of this set absolutely make it a winner. I have said it before, I don't know how Hasbro will top 2019. But I said the same last year, but I REALLY think they hit all the key point and more this year. Now it's just a matter of filling in missing characters, outfits, or redos more geared to a personal wants and niche figures, rather than Hasbro having a huge list of musts dos, because with few obvious exceptions I think they hit most of it this year. Of course, they're welcome to prove me wrong. |
Damn it... I think Gamestop just raised the prices of their Legends figs to $24.99... used to be $22.99 for like the longest time... I hope I will be able to find a Doom somewhere other than Gamestop. As of late Gamestop has been the only place I have been able to consistently find Legends that don't end up being peg warmers. Over here I think even Walmart and Target sells Legends for 22ish... only Best Buy and Walgreens still sell them for $19.99.

Id love some Comic Guardians Of The Galaxy Figures. I am reading Donny Cates run right now.
Love to have Mowhawk Groot Starlord in his blue long sleeved shirt Phyla-Vell and Moondragon a new NOVA Richard Rider figure would be nice too. |

BTW, the new Pet Semetary is one of the worst movies of the year in my book. Just awful. I've never seen the original, but it fell to pieces after the daughter's death. |
Gamestop running a sale. Search the figures and you will see it.

And since I'll be running around a lot in the coming days, Happy Holidays to everyone on here! I always love talking toys with you all. I'll be back in 2020. I'm getting married 3 days after Christmas, so I'll be busy. |

Amazon is no different unless you have Prime or qualify for one of their free shipping deals. Hell...even Ebay is adding taxes to all purchases (including second hand pick ups) so that's not even the cheaper option it used to be. This is not meant to be a personal attack at you X, but in general, the amount of pissing and moaning I see here over Gamestop prices never ceases to amaze me. I'd honestly rather pay a buck or two more and just be done with my search (with figure in hand) over spending hours scouring my other retailers in hope of saving 2 dollars (which you will easily burn in gas as you drive from Walgreens to Target to Walmart over and over again.) Plus I get to inspect my purchase before I buy, and help out a place of business that is employing people LOCALLY, as opposed to some distribution center across the country. I can't help but laugh at how many folks here run into a hard to find figure at Gamestop that they have been clamoring for, only to pass on it, and then are crying about it when months later they never see it again and the secondary market is driving the price on the up. Going forward into the new year, Gamestop is changing their rewards program to a system where they now give you a 5 dollar certificate every month for the year, on top of the rewards you already earn. It's really not a bad deal when you stop and think about it. The general rise in prices for Legends however is why I am starting to feel like the line is becoming a money pit for me...however that's another topic for another time. |

As for the price increase, Hasbro did alert us in advance that the tariffs would have an effect so it shouldn't be a surprise if the retail chains also start charging more. |
