Guys, guys. We're all friends here. Unless someone is posting that they went and bought up all the stock from a store to then sell for double the price online or for their own business, no one's scalping. :)

First Avengers wave is partially showing up on Amazon - snagged a Scarlet Witch without too bad of a mark up. Didn't see Captain Marvel on there anywhere though.
Amazon.com: Avengers Scarlet Witch 6-Inch Action Figure: Toys & Games If I see another one or in the wild I'll get one more to try and make an Enchantress.... Never mind - Found Captain Marvel on there now. Also snagged one: Amazon.com: Avengers Captain Marvel 6-Inch Action Figure: Toys & Games The rest of the wave seems to be showing up there now too, but honestly not intersted in anything beyond these two. |
The sad thing is that I'm sure scalpers use the same resources that we do. Websites like this one. Puts a different spin on sharing DCPI numbers. I'm not suggesting anyone curtail efforts to help others (a shared DCPI # is how I got the Target Cap 3pk a day before it released), it just grinds me a bit that they are shrewd enough to frequent the same websites we collectors utilize....

I'm just always sick of seeing people whining about scalpers. Just because someone is a more dedicated toy hunter than you doesn't make them a scalper. People need to realize that there is always going to be someone who has more time, money, effort, etc, to put into finding the new figures. I just don't get why people aren't just like "well shit, someone beat me to the punch" or something along those lines instead of immediately crying "scalper"

in reality half the time I luck up on the figures I want. I have learned the art of patience now. what seperates me from a scalper is I only buy what I need(usually 1 of each figure) I may wait a few weeks and buy a double(mostly SW Troopers) but that's it. and if I sale to any one of yall its usually cost plus shipping. but since Zoffy called me a scalper(lol) ima sale to him for 3 times the cost. |

I am an old school toy hunter, I hardly ever buy new product online, I go almost everyday at lunch and check the store. Well I've been going to Target for the last 4-5 days since the Odin started showing up in Canada and CA. And today I found the entire wave at Target in Denver. It's the first time I've ever gotten them all. Usually they are picked through. So a little victory for me today. Good luck to you all, collectors that is.

My ML Maidens shipped from TRU today. I will pick up the rest at my leisure. Right now I am trying to decide if Sentry, Iron Fist or Machine Man will sell quicker but over time I think all 3 will peg warm. I have learned over the years to be patient. I see things picked over sometimes, other times I am first to the pegs. I don't usually think "Damn Scalpers" as my first thought, just someone got there before me. I usually will take the women first in a toy line just on the demand principal, but sometimes that is not the case. I lost track of how many Black Cats, Spider Girls, and Gamora I have seen in the past few months. But look at the Guardians line , the girl sat on the shelf and the Racoon was the in demand figure.

My goodness...may I ask which city you get this in? I told this story before, a certain e-retailer sends employees throughout NY, buying up all the hard to find figures and re-selling them. They have a warehouse in lower NY state. So in NY we have to compete with those guys. They send an army looking for those single pack figures; Archangel, Storm, White Queen, Black Widow, Witch and Davers....yep....just terrible in NYC finding those hard to find legends. |
Pretty sure he's messing around, Vash...maybe you are joking too...IDK I live in the NY tri-state also and can confirm that it's extremely hard to find entire lines in stores. Scalpers? Faster, better informed hunters? Probably a little of both. In any event, as Warmachine mentioned, ordering the line online is more cost effective for me. I avoid frustration, save on gas, and eliminate disruption in my schedule. The only caveat is that sometimes I end up waiting on my shipment while watching hunters celebrate acquiring their figs...I'm currently waiting on my Allfather wave, all the while trying not to be jealous of the many people on this thread posting pics of their victories...but I'm happy for those of you that have gotten your goods already! Mine will be here in a week or two...no bigge.

HAHAHAHA I love Amazon. I clicked on Captain Nash's Scarlet Witch link and the cheapest one was ~$45.00. Closed it and finished reading the thread. Went back, clicked on it again and now they have her up for $21.99 with Prime.
I wish I could find out how soon my case from BBTS will ship. They changed the release month to February today. I get the twitchy figure buying finger when I can get them with Prime shipping from Amazon. |
Short on time Witch and Davers Amazon 22 dollars as of 9am eastern Saturday Morning.
To answer question above, dry humor. |
Ended up getting my Iron Fist from Ebay's TRU, should arrive next week. Now to look for those flame effects from the Toybiz version.

i guess since i'm not a regular legends collector, it hasn't hit me like you guys, but every time i go to a wal mart or something like that i usually see quite a few legends just sitting there.
When the past Spider-man wave came out, i seen quite a few times Superior was available, Spidey, toxin, carnage etc... i know the females were harder to find. I guess i'll have to wait and see when this new Spidey wave comes out, i was planning on jumping on at least 2 or 3 of them. I have noticed if you go to a Toys R us store, and you try and get one of those lazy sack of know you what teenage or 20 something year olds to bring out a fresh box, you immediately get the same old response.... " What ever is on the shelf is all we got. " i recall when i was child and i used to go with my grandmother to the local toys r us she knew a woman that would come out to talk to her and she would bring us boxes and boxes of the original Teenage mutant ninja turtles so i could go through them and get the ones i wanted.. those were the days. try finding someone who'd do that nowadays. |

But as a child you were lucky. My dad nada. Five bucks was to much for him. He we a college professor btw, he wwe maaaadddd cheap. I cannot blame TRU employees. All underpaid like most Americans. But i do think the20 year olds and younger have some real attention issues and i agree as much as they are underpaid a lot have bad attitudes. They have in stock but almost never check. I always approach men who smile and LOOK friendly but those are rare. I find female employees give the most trouble, in the effort end of finding products. Sometimes you must ask a couple of different guys and hope one is willing. |
