Seems these will be popular. Maybe I'll have to snag any I see in my area (exclusives tend to shelfwarm here) to help out for those looking.

Also, I'll be trying to grab the gray Window. It's Walmart so... fingers crossed. |
Like webz, I am usually able to find Walmart exclusives so I'll see if I can snag extra gray Widows also.
Honestly, the one exclusive I never actually saw anywhere was a Target exclusive. The Iron Man and Spider-Man Infinity War 2 pack. Hopefully the Origin Widow is more like the Target exclusive Captain Marvel. |

Yup, put me down for Alkhema, but I don't see us getting a Yellow Claw (nor Fu Manchu) due the blatant bigotry on display in character design and ethos. I'm a staunch proponent of back stories and characters being brought forward in modern media warts and all, but there are bridges too far. Characters like those and Black Mariah (one of the few live action reimaginings I was totally on board with) should remain relegated to a less sophisticated/culturally conscious era. I always dig going down memory lane with you, we obviously started reading at a similar time and mostly the same books - Defenders, Rampaging Hulk (you are the only other person I've seen mention Bereet), Master of Kung Fu, Cap Britain and Jasper's Warp and the Fury, etc. Good stuff! Let's hope we get Hellstrom at the very least...maybe the Presence and Starlight too so that people can troll our dreams coming true! ;) I've loved all of Perez' runs on the Avengers and pretty much every team book he's graced. He's one of my very favorite artists and his redraft of Firestar was IMO her best look. Quote:
And the Vamp stuff...dude...he steal your lunch or some such? I've been meaning to ask you about the preoccupation for a bit, but always lost interest before putting words to my thoughts. I think I may have been one of, if not, THE first to notice the handle change and thought to address it publicly, ultimately deciding against the action because...whay? Now, I'm not going to pretend that I haven't had dust ups here. Nor am I going to pretend that there aren't more than a few heads that I've no love for whatsoever. However, I try my best to walk in peace, now, and while I'm not going to curb the way I express my opinion (you'll get over it - those that know, know...or they will know lol), I'm also not going to engage in ostracizing people because they're a little off by my standards. Not trying to be sanctimonious, nor am I singling you out, because many people do this here....just sayin'. ...and I'll take a ridiculous Turner D and set him next to the more ridiculous Spymaster that you've been waiting all your life for! :p:D;) |
@ Blue Marvel.
oh my god, you're right. Gulacy draw sweat! Haha! Yeah, it all felt claustrophobic and dangerous, because of the realism. I was just a kid but I knew even then how cool it was. Paul Gulacy also did the super Cool Slash Maraud for DC, and who can forget the sexiest Widow ever, when she meets Humphrey Bogart, in Bizarre Adventures I think it was. In fact all of the Bizarre adventures/ Marvel Premiere, was way more sophisticated than I'll ever be. Loved that original Starlord, which was super mysterious (and needs a ML), Parallox, Lady Daemon, and the more grounded stories with Thor, Punisher, X-men (Jean, Bobby and Kurt, actually that cover was Gulacy too!) etc. I didn't read Son Of Satan then, but I was obsessed with Ghost Rider, Werewolf, Morbius, Satana and Lilith. No wonder I was a goth in my teens....lol. And Turner D. Century in a bike with a mannequin. Yeah, I'll buy it. Also Dominic Fortune, whom together with Spidey battled Turner in Marvel-two-in one. In fact M 2in1 was a great showcase for new characters. I believe White Rabbit and frog Man started there, as well as Mockingbird, when she stop being The Huntress. Those were the times... |
Aaah, quick search shows me Awkwafina plays Leiko in next Years Shang-Chi movie. I forgot that was on the cards. Also Mandarin proper will appear...interesting.

I figure most will see it here so I have 2 Cuckoos, 1 Emma, and 1 Dani.
I am looking for Iron Patriot, Valkrie, Hiemdall, comic Mysterio or Shocker. Pm me if interested. |
Wow, loving the new Widow store exclusives! So glad they went with comic releases. Gonna need a bunch of the white suited version, may get a few of the gray.
Now, if they could just release one of these collared base bodies in yellow plastic and finally give everyone their favorite D-list character...;):p Quote:

https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...faed4260_b.jpg This figure is fantastic. Doom looks phenomenal and he's still pretty damn well articulated for a guy in full armor with a cape and tunic. I love that he has two heads so you can choose classic or modern and they both came out great, personally for display I'm leaning towards the modern head because the hood cuts a nicer shape overall. I am so glad that Hasbro made this wave a standard release and not any kind of exclusive because this Dr Doom deserves to be as widespread as possible. |

I remember Marvel Magazine/Premiere/Bizarre Adventure, I was too young to know where to routinely get them, or understand what made them different - in hindsight, I now understand they may have functioned as safe places to intro new characters and experiment with different concepts using existing heroes outside of their regular continuity. I got my hands on some Hulk mags that featured cool Doc Samson shorts. I also had a couple of Dominic Fortune mags that I hid from my rents because they were more...ahem...mature. Haha, I thought I was pretty slick at the time for managing to nab those - now that I think about it, those oversized mags were my gateway to the more adult themes of Epic books and, eventually, Heavy Metal. And, yes, I do remember how Gulacy illustrated Widow, he excelled at illustrating the human form sans clothing in a way that suggested that he'd penciled many nude portraits. I also recall Gulacy styling her hair, much like he did many other females, with that feathered bang look popularized by Farrah Faucet and other starlets of the time. Human memory is a such a fascinating phenomenon, sadly, I'll likely be a vegetable someday. Barely able to recall my own name, feed myself, or manage to keep from soiling my pants...if I'm wearing pants. Frail is the mortal coil... And, yes, I'm also a big fan of Marvel 2in1 and Team-up as defacto Thing and Spidey books with lesser knowns in tow. Marvel was far more clever back then in marketing new heroes anchoring them with proven commodities like Peter and Ben. That's the sort of credit I attribute to Stan Lee, not the creation of characters that he claimed he co-created, but the bigger picture orchestrations for which an editor is responsible. So many people seem to worship him for shit he frankly lied about when he was broke. It's sad that he felt the need to do that, he really was a brilliant publisher. Creator? Nah, he couldn't even keep the civilian names of heroes straight. Well, enough of that. I'm starting to drift in this stream of conciousness. Back to being a curmudgeon and intermittently kicking shit over and laughing at the mess... |

Found White Rabbit at Walmart today, she's a surprisingly fun figure (for a D-List character  )

Preorder page for Black Widow at Target.com. I was able to get an order in just before this post. Not sure how long it will be available.

Someone should also ask Hasbro at a con why they continue to give exclusives to chains that have no real interest in carrying them, but I know that will never get answered and I likely know the answer anyways. (Money, it's all about money) |
