I thought there was in the second wave. Never got that because I only wanted the HoJ. Didn't want to leave it out and have someone say there was.

You're right! I always think of them as being Star Wars figure sized.

They could have done some really interesting stuff with that line. I still hope for a Hot Toys Wonder Woman.

LordMudd 06-04-2017 02:42 PM

Well Funko says they are trying to get Green Hornet and Kato in the Batman 66 line. It would be cool to have Batman Robin, Batgirl, Green Hornet, Kato, Wonder Woman and Wonder Girl all side by side in the same scale.

Not a fan of the show, but a highly articulated classic style Wonder Woman would've been great. I would want them to swap her knee rotation with bicep swivel like they did with General Zod, though. Need the bracelet pose, ya know?

Don't forget a George Reeves Superman. Haven't seen too much of the Adventures of Superman, admitably, but any extra variant of Superman is welcome in my collection. Plus, they could reuse the body for both a Black and White repaint and possibly a Kirk Alan figure with a headswap.

Lionheart 06-04-2017 06:15 PM

Frankly, if someone really wanted to they could do a really great action figure line just featuring classic DC characters in their film / TV versions;

Classic Batman
Superman (George Reeves)
Batman '66
Shazam
Wonder Woman
Isis (?)
Superman (Chris Reeve)
Supergirl
Superboy (TV)
Batman (Keaton)
Flash (TV)

... and so on. That's what I thought the Multiverse might turn out to be, but I guess not.

LordMudd 06-04-2017 07:14 PM

I always forget Shazam and Isis because they were Saturday morning and didn't really survive into syndication. Seems like they should be on somewhere.

The Multiverse was the biggest missed opportunity of all time. While I'm delighted to have the Reeves Superman and Zod figures, the rest was 90% terrible choices.

Why do toylines always decide to put their cruddy foot forward and hold back what people would actually want for "later", only to have the line then tank.

(I'm looking directly at you, Funko Game of Thrones!)

They should have released Heath Ledger Joker in Wave 1 and it would have flown off the shelves.

Morons...

Thanks. I meant to say DCIH, not "DC Universe."

But I was hoping for something with better sculpting and articulation. Something like the Solomon 2-pack, but with a more classic look.

Alas....

I could see:
Wonder Woman
Wonder Woman cape/skirt
Wonder Woman swimsuit (always wanted this one.)
Diana Prince
Wonder Girl
Drusilla
Hippolyta
Colonel Steve Trevor
General Blankenship
Etta Candy
Andros
Andros chase (Tim O'Connor)
Skrill
Baroness Paula Von Guenther

An Artemis would be cool they could do her Wonder Woman variant costume and her rebirth look.

Or perhaps just LESS Batman stuff, and spread out to other DC franchises. I mean, 98% of the line was Arkham Batman, and there were only two Superman related figures in the entire line...And they understocked the hero, and overstocked the villain!

snake5289 06-05-2017 09:21 AM

I liked all the Arkham stuff but it bummed me out that they neglected a lot of the central villains from the series like Ra's and Poison Ivy.

And I definitely wanted some movie and TV stuff too.

True. Still, they could've made at least ONE more Superman related figure. I'd vote Lex Luthor or Clark Kent(if you want to have a variant like the unmasked Keaton).

snake5289 06-05-2017 03:02 PM

I would've loved that. Or a Superman/Clark Kent two-pack would've been awesome too.

Yes, more and different franchises for sure. But, for Batman, why not pick from arguably the most famous Batman product of the last twenty years, the Nolan films. Sure, the games have a huge following, but the following for games is always going to be smaller than the following for a massive hit film.

I had no clue who most of the Multiverse characters were.

And, yeah, stores are still choking on about a billion Zod figures long after all other traces of the wave have vanished.

Autobot_Goldbug 06-05-2017 04:45 PM

Zod needed to be put in a 3 pack with his 2 cohorts!
It is a fantastic figure but they flooded the market. :(

and gamers prefer to spend their money on games anyway, but what executive could ever be expected to be intelligent enough to figure that out?

I would have *loved* a Reeves Clark Kent to go with the Superman figure. I bet it would have sold almost as much as the Superman figure itself.

An Ursa figure would have ruled!

A Helen Slater Supergirl figure would have worked well too, especially with the TV series just starting at the time.

I think decisions like 'unmasked' Keaton were a mistake. Mediocre head sculpt, should have been packed in with the regular one. Not sure the line ever seemed to be done right. They could have released 'classics' which would have appealed to some people, games related for others, and contemporary for the rest. I don't think the balance was ever right. The artic for things like Superman was also not quite what it could have been.

Even worse, their heads are on a peg from what I can tell, not a ball joint. Movement is thus far more rigid, and can't remove them easily.

Gotta admit, the Batmobile's squished shape is still a bit disappointing, but I love the car too much to complain.

Also, a small question about customs:

Is printing logos onto paper for application to customs a no-no?

Basically, I'm asking this question because one of my custom goals to work towards is my second favorite Superman costume, which is this:

http://scifiaddicts.com/wp-content/u...igns-notes.jpg

Now, most logos that aren't the George Reeves style logo are more straight and triangular, where as I want an S more akin to what you can actually see on his chest. Despite my skills with drawing the symbol, painting it is not an option, so I grabbed a screenshot from Superman 2's opening titles and carefully outlined and recolored a logo for the front and back(which I will share on here if anyone wants to use them). Biggest problem once I eventually aquire my formula is gonna be application. Cape shouldn't be a big problem, but chest does present a potential headache. Thoughts?

snake5289 06-06-2017 09:32 PM

It can but it can be tough and make sure it's a good picture.

That's a black sticker I glued on, painted red, and coated in glue to give it the glossy thicker look and to make sure the paint won't get messed up. I was going to go with a printed picture but when I printed it it turns out it was at a weird angle so one side was fatter than the other.

Okay. Thanks. Sweet custom, btw.
