Agreed on lockhaw! Theres lotsa characters that werent toy friendly that got made in the regular line. I just hope with the eternals movie cookin’ that we get a comic starfox.

Spyne98 02-05-2020 04:32 PM

Come on! I didn't even have a chance to read Marauders yet! Not cool!

Boy Blunder 02-05-2020 06:41 PM

Cool. Thanks for that.

Black Arbor 02-05-2020 07:10 PM

I guess the only consolation I can give you guys is that comics kind of have a revolving door about this sort of thing haha, but yeah, that was a crap way to be spoiled!

And that's why I noted the spoiler

The Super Skrull is too big to be reused for Eros.

Minus the shoulder flares for Captain Britain & yeah, Starfox is not anywhere as buff as Kl'rt. Sunfire buck for him.

Knowing Hasbro they would still just reuse the Hyperion body again because it's easy. Ignoring whichever body they'd use for classic Brian I feel like the most likely way we'd get the figure is in some kind of multipack, something like an Excalibur set, since he was in the Abomination wave and he's not popular enough for them to go back for in the main line yet.

Very cool! I was wondering what I could do with all these extra Cuckoo heads. This is a fantastic idea.

Agreed.

Nice work, Red. With a few alterations, it could also function as Dust from New X-men.

I'd like to see the child version of Death from Samaritan as a figure, at some point. I know how unlikely this would be, but I've always considered that form to be Death's creepiest incarnation. The juxtaposition of her child avatar, which could easily be interpreted as symbolic of life, in contrast to all we know of the goddess of the void/entropy creates an effect that is equal parts spooky and heady.

The dialogue she shares with Thanos in the story also adds to the perversion and spectacle. It was one of the few occasions that I've encountered in which Death demonstrates actual affection for Thanos. Thanos himself even appears to be off-put by her choice in form, flipping the tables of unrequited love and spurning her advances. Even Thanos has limits, apparently.

It's one of my favorite Keith Giffen stories. Giffen is one of the most sorely unsung sci-fi and cosmic comic writers IMO.

Which one should I put in my X-Men Collection?

Reviews are already up for the Venom BAF re-release. Straight repaint with no additional accessories unfortunately. Glad it's being done, but man, what a missed opportunity. A proper Madness or Ultimate Venom would have required no more that a new headsculpt or two.

My thinking is go with white since it's closer to how she looked in the comics, Jim Lee having said the costume is supposed to be silver, and then if/when we get first appearance Storm that can be the black costume so it'll be a different color and a different outfit. Just as toys I think they both look great so if you prefer the black outfit go with that.

Definitely the white. I'm really confused why the black one even exists. I think it's confusion stemming from a lazy repaint in the 5" Toy Biz line that forever bound her black Outback outfit with her silver Jim Lee outfit.

MeLikeJinx 02-06-2020 11:50 PM

Go with the black imo... to represent the reflective silver/black highlights version from the comics. White version if you are doing a mainly cartoon display though. And IMO yellow electricity accessories look better with black storm.

Dr Kain 02-07-2020 08:12 AM

I vote for White. The black just looks weird.

I would go with the black outfit. Yes its not as iconic and recognizable as her wite one, but it will also wont show the discoloration the white outfit will.

Dr Kain 02-07-2020 10:09 AM

Is Discoloration even a thing these days? I thought it was fixed like GPS.

Photodegredation is always gonna happen, it just might be happening slower these days due to the changes in plastics.

Yah it is. Look at that antman and stinger set. Brand new on the shelf and never opened Stinger was like 3 different shades. White plastic gets it the worst though.

That wasn't photodegredation though, that was just poor matching of plastics/paints. The Multiverse Wonder Woman from the Lex Luthor BAF wave has the same problem, though it's less obvious depending on the lighting.

Last week when I was out of town and looked around in the Walmart store, I found the Fantasetic Four Super skrull build a figure wave. the new She Hulk figure based on the previous She Hulk/Hulk comic a year or two ago, the new She Hulk figure looks nice

tierneygreen 02-07-2020 04:12 PM

^ Indeed. Just picked her up myself. I was waffling on getting her, but all the glowing reviews swayed me. It really is a well designed and executed figure. It definitely sets a high bar for other variations of the character down the road.

Found a very odd packaging variation on Guardian today... anyone else seen this? Is this something they've done to others in the Wendigo wave?

I don't think I've seen them change box art before but I guess they changed it because his costume is asymmetric.
