I don't know about green blast effects, but those are some cool mods you've made there.

A classic Electro and a bigger Rhino would be nice.

This is completely conjecture, but heres what I dug up: https://www.reddit.com/r/MarvelLegen...&utm_term=link

To save people the click: Spider-Man, Peter Parker, Gwen Stacy, Daredevil, Green Goblin, & Electro.

It’s most likely fake, however, it is exciting if it is real. Namely Gwen Stacy & Peter Parker, figures I have wanted for years. Although, they’re why I doubt it. Two civilian figures in a standard-release wave, without BAF pieces to help move them, seems like a dicey move. All the same, I hope it’s true, as that is a solid line-up.

That would be pretty decent for a Vintage wave. and I do highly suspect this year's vintage wave will be Spider-Man/ and other street level characters (like Daredevil in the link you shared) as opposed to Avengers or X-Men. I personally can pass on all of them but it hits a lot of spots for those not collecting as long.

Unrelated:

Can't believe NYTF is in two weeks, hopefully we will see a lot of previews, including hints for the Vintage wave. I know there's supposedly a lot of X-Men stuff coming but I'm worried still because aside from AOA wave (1? of 1 or 2 or 3 or what) and the Deadpool/X-FOrce wave we haven't seen much.

Really hoping and needing to see Firestar and FA Storm. Figure we'll see a 1 to 3 figures for the summer Spider-Man wave we can guess is coming. the BAF for the AoA wave, the Marvel video game wave, all or some depending on when it drops, and of course the rest of the Deadpool/X-Force wave. But I need moooooore. :o

I used a Celeste for Magma and a Mindee for Selene. I think I am going to use a Phoebe for a Goblin Queen. There are some pics on the previous page of this thread.

@Ultra Seven - If the leaked retro/vintage Spider-Man wave is true, that is AWESOME! I'm not surprised by Electro, as classic Electro is long overdue and an interview with Boog_ACBA last year with the Marvel Legends reps said they were "almost there" in completing a new Electro toy. I AM surprised that Gwen Stacy, not Firestar, is the wave's female figure. I get it, since if you have a new figure of the Green Goblin (and preferably it's a new classic Goblin with brighter suit colors), it makes sense to include Gwen. I am also thrilled to hear Daredevil's getting a new figure, as I missed Hasbro's previous red-suit Daredevil release, so that genuinely and pleasantly surprised me. I hope it's the red suit for DD and not a more modern suit. I am keeping my fingers crossed the Peter Parker, Spider-Man, Green Goblin and Gwen Stacy figures all look like John Romita Sr.'s artwork.

I know I'm a broken record, but I'd still love to see Hasbro give us a new Doc Ock based on John Romita Sr.'s art or the white Armani suit with bendable wire tentacles. Giving Doc Ock the "static" tentacles last time was almost as disappointing as not giving the X-Force Cannonball figure legs. I need bendy tentacles! Then again, I just need to see more Spider-Man figures! The recent waves like last year's Kingpin wave and the current Demogoblin wave have left me underwhelmed.

It's so odd to say the New York Toy Fair is less than two weeks away. I can't wait to see what Hasbro unveils for Marvel Legends' figures for Avengers, X-Men, Spider-Man, etc.! However, I am more excited to see new classic comic versions of Marvel Legends figures, and even the rumored Fox X-Men films wave, than I am with more modern looks and Gamerverse looks for Marvel's heroes and villains.

Thanks for reading and I hope you all have a wonderful night.

If true, I really hope to the gods it includes a Romita Sr Spidey on the 2099/Sunfire body with multiple hands, a Romita Jr-esque version of Hobgoblin with a bigger glider, Classic Electro, Classic Shocker, and Molten Man.

snake5289 02-09-2020 11:27 PM

If they're re-releasing BAFs then I really hope Dormammu isn't too far off.

Nimrod 02-09-2020 11:39 PM

A classic Tarantula is long overdue as well. Green Goblin has been done & is a good figure on it's own. Rather see Tarantula done in a vintage wave than another umpteenth Goblin figure.

StuartGreen2019 02-10-2020 12:03 AM

I agree with Dr Kain and Nimrod that we need new figures of comic Molten Man, classic Shocker, a John Romita Jr. looking Hobgoblin, and classic Tarantula. Of course, J. Jonah Jameson, a John Romita Sr. version of first appearance Mary Jane Watson, the Chameleon (he's long overdue), purple-and-blue suit Boomerang for Sinister Syndicate collectors, and non-Build-A-Figure new classic figures for Sandman, Lizard and Rhino would be icing on the cake. But I'm not knocking a new Green Goblin. I couldn't find the last figure and it's nice to look for one without resorting to buying the previous Sandman Build-A-Figure wave figure overpriced on Ebay and Amazon.

Personally, I'd love to see the Green Goblin look like John Romita Sr.'s artwork, or an 80th anniversary style Alex Ross masked head, and to have some alternate heads. Since Norman Osborn, Harry Osborn and Bart Hamilton have all donned the Green Goblin costume, it'd be great to get one or two alternate heads included. Heck, I'd even take a "broomstick" accessory from Green Goblin's first comic appearance.

Maybe when Multiverse of Madness is coming out they'll do Dormammu either on his own or in some two pack. It's also possible in the wave for the sequel that we could just get classic Dormammu, although I do kinda prefer the BAF's look.

Regarding Green Goblin, I think it's a good idea to throw him in a vintage wave. He actually did have one of those Toybiz releases and the Sandman wave figure is not reasonably obtainable to newcomers, Spidey's main foe shouldn't be one and done. Also, as discussed before, it would be an opportunity to give us a proper classic Goblin because even though I really like the Sandman wave figure it's definitely a more modern version of his classic look.

I'll take em!

MeLikeJinx 02-10-2020 07:25 PM

I think they will only re-release BAFs of popular characters... so Kingpin and Apocalypse are a lock IMO. The bigger ones will probably have to wait for the next wave of MCU 10th ann./Marvel 80th ann. double pack box sets like the Juggernaut/Colossus box set.

And I didn't know the Venom BAF re-release had a different more classic looking Venom spider symbol on his chest... that alone makes me want one now.

Not including figures first available in convention sets who were later BAFs (like Dormammu, Sandman, and Abomination) so far the BAF redos we've gotten have been, not in order:
comic Thanos
Infinty War Thanos
Groot
Ultron
Hulkbuster
Juggernaut
Rocket Raccoon
Puck
Venom
MCU Giant-Man
Arnim Zola
Ares

I might have missed some. I don't count Jubilee because the individual figure we got was a completely different look with hardly any reused parts.

Allegedly Kingpin will be joining this list and I do hope that's true. Apocalypse and Rhino are the two I personally most want to see. I don't think an argument needs to be made for why Apocalypse deserves re-release, and like I said before making him in the cartoon colors would be an easy way to keep people who did complete the BAF from bitching that theirs is rendered pointless. My argument for Rhino is that he's a classic Spidey villain but his wave came out basically half a decade ago and his classic mask head was practically a joke so just re-releasing that figure on its own with a new and better classic head would take fairly little effort and give newcomers or people who just never completed him a shot at owning the figure.

BAFs like Mantis, Okoye, and Super Skrull should also be made available later as in all three cases some figures that you bought to build them were bigger than they were when complete and they're reasonably popular characters. Similar sentiment for M'baku.

MeLikeJinx 02-11-2020 12:00 AM

^ I wonder about MCU Mantis too... but I didn't realize so many BAFs were re-released already... I never even realized Ares was a BAF before. And that Arnim Zola 2 pack was a strange 2 pack now that I think about it... I never saw anybody buy it until it was on deep clearance.

With GotG3 coming eventually I'm sure there'll be space for Mantis, although maybe not the BAF again. Ares was the BAF for a Walmart-exclusive wave in 2008, the figure was repainted and put in the Ragnarok wave. Also yeah the Zola pack didn't move well although I'm mainly pretty sure it was Hydra Cap's fault. There are a few characters who were done as BAFs earlier in Hasbro's run that I would rather just see a new figure made instead of repaints of figures that don't compare well to modern offerings.

SymbiSpidey 02-11-2020 07:43 AM

My only other question is IF Green Goblin is in that vintage wave, what happens with his glider? Unless GG gets his own unique kind of retro packaging, there's no way that even that tiny glider Hasbro gave us is fitting in the vintage packaging. And honestly, if we're getting another Green Goblin, I'd like to see them do another glider for him, on par with the recent Demogoblin figure as far as size.

Given that the previous gliders were wrong on all accounts (the glider Hasbro gave to GG was actually used by Jason's Hobgoblin), so they all need to be redone. I would also love the new gliders to use the stand Demogoblin came with.

Now that's a solid idea! I was thinking of making a Black Queen/Selene. I might that route.

hasbroherofan 02-11-2020 10:47 AM

Retro Spider-Man wave doesn't really interest me. I'm fine with the Electro and Goblin we have.

Hopefully we hear about another Spider wave with Mr. Negative and some additional Spider-Verse characters.

I tried a couple different heads before going with this one. The flesh color is a perfect match.

Considering they're supposed to be clones of Emma, they'd better be the same flesh tone :p

I think I'm going to go with that too...though the Hela face, aside from flesh tone and size, LOOKS more like Selene, this matches up better. It's mainly that I wish the hair were longer.......could the Hela hair go on this head?

I think though most of us could most likely agree, that body, while not a perfect representation of the outfit Selene wore, works well enough for those of us with no real sculpting or painting customization skills, and is likely the best we'll get unless we get an official Selene. I really wish they would have included a Selene head with Emma.

Off Topic, while i'm still hoping for a Hellfire Club SDCC or Amazon set as it wouldn't be a good fit for Brick and Mortar retail, I'm also really hoping with all of the 90's X-Men love we get an Acolytes set, following in the pattern of the Alpha Flight set. Just imagine it: Exodus, Amelia Voght, and Fabian Cortez for sure, and possibly 3 of Senyaka (yes please!!), Frenzy, Unuscione (my choices), Scanner, Neophyte, Milan, Rusty, Skids or the Kleinstock brothers. Maybe even Colossus or Magneto. This would probably have limited appeal but it would be a dream set for me, even if the main one I would want would be Exodus and i"ll be thrilled just to get him as a single figure. The Acolytes were my favorite X-villain group of the 90's, and I wish we had gotten an on-going of them.

I feel the same way about slapping the "wild, blank-eyed" head from the Dark Phoenix set onto that body and calling it Madelyne.
