Time for my bevy of thoughts round 1. Round 2 will come after the panel tomorrow provided this hasn't covered it all.

First get the big one out of the way: AOA BAF Sugar Man. Not really one I was interested in, but doesn't change the fact I was going to get this wave anyways, and he will be welcome in my collection. This pretty much guarantees a second wave and possibly some sets. We're missing main characters like Rogue, Magneto (3 pack w/ Quicksilver and pack in Charles?), Bishop (yes he IS a main AOA character, I'll fight you over it lol), Nemesis, Sabretooth, Cyclops and of course the big A himself. Maybe also Storm, Mystique, Nightcrawler, Abyss, and how about a third version of Dazzler? We'll wait to see what the year brings.

Venomized etc; Meh. No interest. Same for the game wave except for Leader who is in desperate need of an upgrade and of course Mach I - one step closer to a classic OG Thunderbolts team.

What's that about Spider-Man and his Amazing friends in 2021? Hasbro DO NOT make us wait another year for Firestar. Release in 2020 for prepping interest and then do a modern repack next year.

Is that it? I feel like I'm missing something.

Edit: OH yes, I know I was missing now. Red Hulk. Meh, if he goes on clearance MAYBE. I'm totally fine with my 2008 Red Hulk, he's not a huge favorite of mine.

Boy Blunder 02-21-2020 04:02 PM

I wonder if Sabretooth would be released in a two-pack with a more AoA-style Blink, with her original hairstyle and maybe a hooded cloak and quiver for her shards?

I'd buy it. I mean, her outfit is close enough I don't really need another blink as i have two already, but getting her AOA headsculpt would be great.

As an aside, I've already decided what the next standard X-Men wave should be, as I have a feeling FA Storm and Shadowcat will come in a set or be an exclusive: Wolverine of some type, Jim Lee Banshee, red/blue and white Angel, Modern Rogue (not sure which version though), Deathstrike, Pyro and Avalanche. This would knock pretty much take care of the very essential missing X-Men and give us a new Rogue. The funny thing, it doesn't have a single character that hasn't appeared in the line or side line of X-Men classics yet. All redos or alternate outfits. Bring it on for 2021 now that the license has been confirmed to continue.

I need to see better pics but it looks like the Gamerverse Abomination uses the Smart Hulk mold. The chest in particular appears that way to me.

So...and it may be different in the game, but he's still going to be too small for an abomination. Granted I know this is game vs comic but can Hasbro...not...get a proper Abomination done? At this point the Toy Biz one is still the best.

Well, if we assume the regular video game Hulk is the same size as the Outback Hulk they showed off (which is on the Smart Hulk body), and we compare it to the screenshot posted a page or two back... Yeah, ol' Blonsky is gonna be way undersized if he also uses the Smart Hulk body :p

Hulkwummy 02-21-2020 04:54 PM

I saw the Build-A-Figure peaces of Abomination from the upcoming Avengers video game and I have this to say, close but no cigar. I prefer the classic comic version in the same bulk as the Vintage Green Hulk from SDCC.

Dolemite 02-21-2020 05:48 PM

Hey, a Mach-1 figure! That's cool.

ariellagunas 02-21-2020 06:14 PM

I've counted how many legends and 2 packs and whatnot. And I reckoned there are gonna be as much if not more this year. And I feel pretty sure X-men is gonna be heavy.
But I wonder if the two most requested won't be held back to the big show in summer.
Still, there will be plenty tomorrow to wow us. One hopes.

TheBlueMarvel 02-21-2020 06:52 PM

Mach 1. Red Hulk.

TheBlueMarvel 02-21-2020 07:05 PM

Most everyone saw that Ultimate Beatle re-use when it came out. It's still nice to have, if a little late.

Red Hulk. Leader. My Hulk fix and a lot of other fixes are getting fixed. Keep going Hasbro.

A Mr. Hyde wouldn't surprise. And agreed on Nemesis/Holocaust being needed.

Veronica Mars 02-21-2020 07:08 PM

I'm super excited to be getting Rage, that's one more New Warrior in the line

TheBlueMarvel 02-21-2020 07:22 PM

I'm excited also, but I wanted him to be a little larger in stature.

Boogieman4hire 02-21-2020 07:31 PM

It wouldn't be comic accurate but I wish Hasbro would've made an alternate head of the Immortal Hulk's Abomination for this build a figure. That would've made it a must have as I'm jonesing for any of the designs from those comics. But as of now I couldn't care less about it.

Betty's new Harpy form (I guess we'd call it Red Harpy) would make for a neat figure, probably a BAF knowing Hasbro.

Fun fact, that look for her was inspired by her appearance in Earth X!

lordbest 02-21-2020 09:54 PM

So far the most exciting thing for me has been the new Kamala Khan leak.

Given the amount of spikes and scales sculpted on the arms and legs, I doubt the Abomination BAF is reusing the relatively smooth torso from the Smart Hulk BAF.

Also, the sculpt for the diaphragm and neck joints on the new Abomination BAF look different than the ones on Smart Hulk.

Or 'Ultimates Beetle'. Lol expected by no one was for Mach 1 to be modeled after John Lennon...

When I saw that the BAF was going to be Abomination, I really hoped it would be this version with the alt handsy faces. The character designs from Immortal Hulk have been simply amazing, and the use of the grotesque melds perfectly with the story. Just not sure Hasbro will ever buy into that particular brand. At the very least, I could see getting a dedicated head-sculpt for the Hulk.

Im sure she did too. ;)

Definitely don’t need that abomination wave baf. Woulda been more excited for it had it been rick jones abomb. Gonna get mach 1 though.

En Sabah Nerd 02-22-2020 03:07 AM

As great as the new Abomination was I'm skeptical that Hasbro would be the company to give us one since that was some horrific shit. I have a feeling Ewing and Bennett were going for a Carpenter's The Thing vibe given what was under those fingers.

Dodge76 02-22-2020 03:53 AM

My fingers are crossed for a Longshot, Banshee, Tigra or comic Falcon reveal for later today.
