After finally seeing McFarlane's DC figs at retail on Friday, I wonder if Marvel Select will experience a resurgence given that the two lines look like they'd match well together. Good luck tracking down your Hulk! |

Don't know about everyone else, but my Stan Lee order came in from Pulse. I can't bring myself to open it, which is a 1st for me.

Retro Grey Beast just went up. Comes with alternate smiling head, glasses, book and interchangeable hands:

I never though I'd be one those people. But this is a piss taking. Avengers Perez sculpt, with a post X-Men pre-Avengers colour. Wrong head on wrong colour. The brainwaves that did this only care bout money, not the fans. So you buy this, and then eventually the same figure in Blue? And do we bet when the blue one with the new head gets release it will be double pack with Wolverine dressed as a school boy.
I was all in for a grey scaled up version of the Marvel universe one, but I will pass on this, as it's an obvious money grabbing. |

Wow. They really just Beyonce'd this one. I don't remember any promotion or announcement of this figure.

Right now i just found out about new Classic Grey Beast from an email from Entertainment Earth.
I wouldnt mind getting old Grey Beast sometime but im sure Id have to go to Target or a Gamestop shop to have better luck finding it since Marvel Legends X-Men figures dont last long at Walmart where they get bought up in one day |
Could we get a redone Wrecking Crew? Maybe a new box set?

you want Wrecking Crew action figures?
What the heck were you doing when they were released for the Marvel Universe series years ago? |
Hasbro enough of the team members of Wrecking Crew for single carded Marvel universe and then one or two more Wrecking Crew members for the comic book two packs
|
Can someone explain to me the significance of Gray Beast?

The Grey Beast was the original X-Men Beast, whom experimented on himself, and turn into a more monstrous, and grey Beast.
This was part of the whole monster trend in the seventies. Tigra was another re-launch from The Cat. Grey Beast debuted in Amazing Adventures for a few issues. Later, can't remember how, he joined the Avengers and he was Blu-black, and his features softened, and became fun loving, but still nerdy Beast, whom hang around with best pal Wonder Man. Toy ways, Marvel Universe did a correct face sculpt on grey Beast in the 4" line. People, included myself, wanted a happy Avengers Beast, as depicted by George Perez and John Byrne among others. This new sculpt is base on that Avengers period. But he wasn't grey anymore. So it's a Mix-mash of the "horror" beast (the colour) and the Avengers beast (the new head sculpt). This is all from top of my head, so happy to be corrected. |

Classic versions of the Wrecking crew are long overdue to replace those outta scale monstrosities that the awful 10yr old Warpath buck was utilized for. |
Nice addition for a book accessory for Classic Grey Beast.

Yep. I sold those Wrecking Crew figures. They just didn't look right with the rest, plus I got good money. It took years for them to release all four, so I'm not siting waiting crying for them.
If and when they come, in better size and articulation, I'll get them. Also got rid of Blob. He was just repulsive. Speaking of molds. The new Spymaster and Crossbones have crap molds too. Hard to pose. On the other hand the Yelena Belova is fantastic. I did not expect that. Winter Soldier was sold out in UK first batch, so he's the one to get first. Red Hulk is also very popular here, but I have zero interest. I'd rather get a General Thunderbolt. Speaking of which, I'm hoping more Hulk characters get done. Would love a Harpy and a Doc Samson. I have the previous one, but needs to be bigger, brighter colours, etc. |

Now I finally know what that weird left hand sculpt that came with blue Beast is for. It was to hold the book he didn't come with. That awkward pose really bugged me. Now I am more irritated that we only got an angry head with blue Beast. I only wonder what 2 or 3-pack Hasbro is going to screw us over with to get a regular blue Beast. It will probably include some kind of Wolverine.

Morph is coming and for some reason, I feel like Hasbro might throw a Nocturne out there.
Magnus might get done because it would just be an easy repaint, but I don't think T-Bird will happen. Anyone think Mimic could happen? It would be ok with me if they just made Mimic or Nocturne and I could at least have an Exiles trio. https://i.postimg.cc/fLrw6DnM/IMG-0158.jpg |
Quick question/theory: with Grey Beast revealed with the smiling alternate head and book, could Hasbro make a retro/vintage "X-Men Classics" toyline based on the 90s X-Men Toy Biz wave?
Think about it: Hasbro had that 2020 New York Toy Fair panel with "Decisions, decisions..." showing the Fantastic Four animated series, Iron Man animated series, Spider-Man animated series, X-Men and X-Men Classics toylines from Toy Biz and there was that online leak of more than one retro/vintage toyline possibly happening this year. It'd be a great way to re-release classic blue Beast with the new smiling head and book, since that's what we see in the intro on the Fox Kids X-Men animated series (all we'd need are removable glasses as an accessory to 100% sell the look) and re-release Jim Lee X-Men figures with all-new accessories (like a new optic blast accessory for Jim Lee Cyclops without the bomber jacket and fireworks blast effects accessories for Jubilee) and new paint apps (hello, Jim Lee Rogue everyone wants re-sold!) and maybe new head sculpts for everyone. Plus, it'd be a great way to have a civilian clothes Logan figure. It'd also be a great way to get classic Jean Grey and Magneto that are not part of a boxed set and a non-Walgreens exclusive Mystique. What do you guys think of my guess/comments? |
