I think this is probably true for Reese and Lilandra, but I think for Wolfsbane and Karma, it was honestly meant as a way to make the Dani Moonstar body a three-in-one New Mutants figure, even though Wolfsbane was never actually on that iteration of the team. I would be amazed if there isn't an X-Factor Wolfsbane in the pipeline. I wouldn't be surprised to hear that that there are no plans for an original New Mutants Wolfsbane anytime soon, though.

Hulkwummy 04-26-2020 03:51 PM

Still need a 90's X-Factor Wolfsbane to complete the 90s X-Factor roster.

I know it's a long shot, but does anyone have Lizard BaF arms and head or Now Cyclops for sale or trade?

I know what you mean. I wasn't collecting Legends when Now Cyclops came out. So my Magik and Emma Frost are grouped differently.

Also, what arms and legs did you use for Wolfsbane? Or are they fully painted?

MeLikeJinx 04-26-2020 04:49 PM

^ That TRU X-men wave was impossible to find back then though... I was visiting TRU a lot for other various stuff and never saw that wave... not once.

And there is a benefit to missing out on that wave too... I would for sure have bought Magento and Storm and maybe eventually the rest to make Jubes. And too me that would have been a waste of money since years later I got better versions of those characters with better body molds.

Captain Nash 04-26-2020 04:58 PM

Oh God, the horror of that Jubilee wave. Piece-meal bought the figures one at a time at relatively okay prices. But not something I'd like to repeat. Ever.

It's all painted. I mixed a shade to match the hands and gave the arms from mohawk Storm a quick wash to match the hands. I used the hips and thighs from X-23. The knees and calfs are the elbows and forearms from Puma. The elbow joint is perfect because one side of it is small and fits into the female thighs without any modification. The next part is a random female forearm and the toes are Puma's hands with the fingers cut off.

I wasn't collecting Legends back then but I remember I actually found Stryfe once, the box was literally torn open and the Jubilee piece was missing.

Thanks. I’m sure a lot of people have already done this but I just had a chance to and I like it.

For sure. Looks like he touched up Iceman, too.

Thanks. I’m happy that I’ve managed to do the setups based on the X-Men Blue Team and Gold Team trading cards as well as different comic covers and art.

Next you should do some figs from the marvel swimsuit specials. ;)

If you had known then what you know now, would you have grabbed the Stryfe in a New York minute, despite that?

I would've tried getting some kind of "damaged" discount first just as a matter of principle.

Benn Roe 04-26-2020 09:54 PM

I bought the whole Jubilee wave on eBay within the last two years, and managed to get most of it effectively for free by finding undervalued lots, and selling the extra figures for around the same price as the lots. I think I probably dropped $50 total on the wave, all things said and done, entirely NIB. That took buying three Storms, two Cyclopes, and one of each of the others, and it took a lot of patience, but considering how much those figures go for (a lot more now than even two years ago), it felt like a pretty good score. The Magneto and Wolverine figures are pretty bad, but I still love the other three. Cyclops and Storm are in favourite costumes of mine, and all three are great sculpts.

The interesting thing is that my local Trade Smart store was selling that wave. I had no idea it was a TRU exclusive one, but it was before I finally broke down and got into the Legends line. I was holding Stryfe in my hands because he was one of my favorite villains for the comics I read and considered buying him, only to be like, "You know what, I don't need to collect Marvel when Mattel is keeping my shelves occupied with DC."

Oooof. Hindsight is 20/20 in action, eh?

SymbiSpidey 04-27-2020 06:05 AM

I remember years ago when I saw Stryfe I believe for a modest $35 on Amazon. Really wishing I just pulled the trigger on him.

Vex 04-27-2020 09:54 AM

At this point I feel that I've effectively purchased Stryfe for under retail. I purchased a lot about two years ago on eBay of him, Juggernaut Cable, Warlock Cyclops and Uncanny Cyclops for $120 and then sold both Cyke figures for around $90 afterwards. Great times.

Dolemite 04-27-2020 11:41 AM

I've wanted a Stryfe figure for ages to use as a base for a Death's Head custom, but no fucking way I'm paying what he's going for on ebay these days. I settled for using Colossus, which is working out okay so far.

Captain Nash 04-27-2020 12:04 PM

by good coincidence Stryfe was the only one I planned to get so I preordred and got him way before the rest. I think once I got Storm I figured I'm halfway there I might as well get the rest. Though I think it took a good 2-3 years after release.

And ugh. Amazon still showing my preorder for Dark Beast to arrive on Wednesday but no updates or shipping or delays. I know a delay is probably going to happen but at the same time i'm like...just ship it!!!!

Target just informed me that my entire wave (which was set to ship today) is suddenly backordered and wouldn't arrive until the end of May. I cancelled my order and will wait. I'll probably end up seeing it in stores before then.

Boy Blunder 04-27-2020 01:15 PM

At the current rate of things actually getting stocked, I wouldn't bet money on that one.

best of luck either way! I know this pales to worldwide things, but since it's a toy forum, I'm okay with waiting on full set I ordered from Dorkside, I just really want to go ahead and and get Dark Beast. If Target and Pulse are delaying due to delayed stock I can't imagine Amazon wouldn't too -I'll keep everyone posted if it does or doesn't ship.

Agreed. I hate pre-ordering anything but soon as much check comes i am pre-ordering that wave. I waited too long for a Nate Grey and Sugarman figure.

Thor Laserpunch 04-27-2020 01:32 PM

If anyone's getting the wave but not into Sugar Man I might be interested. I would love to collect waves of AoA stuff but it's just too much shit.

Captain Nash 04-27-2020 01:32 PM

Yeah I wouldn't place much hope in retail for a few months but you never know. I went to Walmart yesterday only to get a prescription for my dog I can only get from there. Since they could have it ready in 15 minutes, I went by the toy aisle. one Wasp figure in the legends section that's it. and I see no reason that between delays and priority of needs, that toys are going to be high on the list for most retailers.

I fully intend on getting the wave, but I fully intend on tossing Sugar Man.
