Remember when everything was so extreme back in the 90s, even J. Jonah was juicing?

Still nothing from my Walmart stores on their BW.

Also, I finally saw Crossbones today and he had a big ass chunk of paint missing on his skull face, so I decided against buying him since that is like the most important feature for Crossbones.

Anyone have a recommendation for a flying stand strong enough to support Sauron? I picked up some Obitsu stands recently, and they're great for Rogue, Storm, Sunfire, etc., but not nearly strong enough for Sauron.

NECA flight stand could hold him- but they're kind of clunky and ugly. but put far enough back on a shelf would work

I picked these up on Amazon. I had to rig them like this for Sauron and Archangel

Looks awesome. The flesh tone looks amazing again. What do you use? On the white rabbit head it looks like you painted perfectly around the stock eyes and eyebrows.

I use Reaper MSP acrylics and a very small brush. When dealing with skin tones I find it works best to thin out the paint and do multiple coats to get a smoother finish

Thanks, I will have to try some of that paint. I 100% agree that multiple thin coats is the way to go. I do like 10-15 coats when I airbrush body parts. I do ok with a tiny brush too. It's just something about painting flesh tone on faces that I cannot do. Yours always look great and now, even though I have like 5 works in progress, I really want to make an M.
Dammit.

She jumped ahead of Namorita and Penance who are both stalled for the moment

I've never seen BW at Walmart, and I have ton around me. Looks like jumping the gun and buying her on ebay wasn't a bad idea after all.

I've seen a lot of them with fucked-up skull face paint, which is a bummer. Again, I went ebay and just looked until I found one that was perfect. Annoying to have to do that, however, but OCD be damned.

Imagine how easy life would be is all toy companies had 100% positive quality control records and you could just buy any figure sight-unseen and just KNOW you're going to get a perfect one each and every time?

Yeah, I find using multiple thin coats of paint gets the best results as well. Yours looks almost factory-done, very impressive.

I see a lot of people who are either inexperienced or impatient and just use, like, one or two thick coats and their figures look like they were painted with oatmeal.

I actually tried that exact configuration and Sauron was still far too heavy. Curiously, my Archangel didn't need that treatment either. I have him flying in an upright position, but just a single grabber was enough to hold him that way. I used my five for Archangel, Dark Phoenix, Rogue, Jubilee-wave Storm, and AoA Sunfire. I think I want two more packs of five for Angel, Gladiator, Jean Grey, classic Magneto, black Magneto, Nightcrawler, Phoenix, classic Polaris, 90s Storm, and X-Man, and then something heavier for Sauron.

I also found that tightening the screws on the stands helps with heavier figures, alternatively most of the reviews I've seen of the deluxe movie Widow figure say the stand she comes with is really sturdy.

Hypnotia, because short of a exclusive multi-pack I don't we'll see her in figure form

Does the one from the new Black Widow not work? I have not tried mine with Sauron yet, but I plan to when I finally go to take some pictures this week.

Use the leg support piece. I have Annihilus on an obistu stand and he is probably about as hefty if not moreso. Depending on how you want to position, you could always rig him with 2 stands. Tighten all screws also.

One: 12 bases also good and usually on ebay around $10 if you can deal with the base having a logo on it.

FEXT looks like it will be good also.

Whoo hoo for the Queen Cat love!

Hoping we see a proper figure of Lily as Menace at some point...

I don't know! I only collect X-Men figures, so I didn't pick it up. I have copies of her at my store, though, so maybe I'll open one up and sell the figure. Let me know if you end up trying it and it works okay!

I tried with the leg support piece and couldn't make it work. Might just be the pose I'm trying to do. I'll look into those others, though! Thanks.

Depending on how you position it, you might have better luck if you grab around the wings vertically with the big clamp. I've done some pretty hefty figures supported by just the crotch and apparently nothing else but sheer willpower using these chintzy things too, so I know it's possible, just gotta play around with it and how the weight is distributed to the stand and base.
