I love that they included Nimrod's classic John Romita Jr. head...I was disappointed with the initial reveal at Toy Fair, but that head seals the deal for me.

I wonder how the head swap will work? It's not like Nimrod has a neck or anything.

And let me say, if we get a HC st and Selene is not in it, my angst will be so loud you'll hear it from wherever you are.

I realize she's not Dark Phoenix era HC, but she's been a solid member.

An ideal set, for me at least, would be Shaw, Pierce, Leland, Wyngarde, Frost, and Selene. With a bonus Tessa, if at all possible.

Followed by Pulse doing some army-build Hellfire Guards.

EDIT: Judging by the photos on Marvelousnews, Nimrod's head is a separate piece, even if the armor makes it look flush. The heads will likely be easy to swap, just with limited poseability.

Oh, they could certainly get some mileage out of that foot, to be sure.

That would be a great set up. I'd sacrifice Tessa for Leland, but obviously not Selene for Leland. Ideal 6 you just listed, ideal 5 minus Leland. Frankly as long as we got Shaw, Frost and Selene out of it I would thrilled.

Veronica Mars 05-22-2020 10:13 AM

I wonder if Nimrod and Rogue are still part of multipacks

I mostly agree on the Hellfire Club except I think Tessa is more important than Leland.
5-pack Shaw, Pierce, Wyngarde, Frost, and Selene.
6-pack +Tessa
7-pack +Leland

I will army build the shit out of some Hellfire Guards too.

Peek at the giant Sentinel from Haslab.

Veronica Mars 05-22-2020 10:16 AM

Since Walgreen's exclusives are Avengers this year, could Tigra be next after MK?

Yeah when I saw that....I already know it's going to be too big and too expensive for me to even consider.

@VeronicaMars - I am completely confused on that Rogue too. I guess we won't know til we see some kind of packaging. Single figure? two set? Wave? Exclusive....I just know I want it. Pack it with the FA Storm and I'd be happy.

Goblin's glider is now compatible with the Demogoblin glider stand AND they gave the new Spidey the same abdomen style as the Power Rangers line, so hell yeah!!!!

Only disappointment was they never talked about first appearance Storm.

New Spidey is old news. The mold was already released as Superior Octopus.

No it wasn't. This Spidey is an entirely new mold made for that Spider-Man specifically. The Superior Octopus thing did not have the lower ab crunch like teh PR line.

I'm thinking MODOK is getting an update this year since the Hulu show's coming out.

Slight issue with Iron Man 2020's effect pieces. The hand repulsor pieces are fine, but the boot jet/exhaust pieces are made of a slightly soft (not ridiculously soft, but semi-soft) plastic. I set up IM2020 on my shelf with the boot jet effect pieces so he was hovering over the other figures and the next morning he had sagged backwards and would have fallen over if Crossbones wasn't there to support him.

The pegs on the boot jet pieces were 100% intact, and the holes on IM2020's feet are fine, but when you peg the boot jet pieces in it just doesn't feel 100% tight enough - like the pegs should have been maybe 2-3% bigger - and combined with the semi-soft plastic they kinda bend and/or slip out too easily. Plus the tops of the exhaust cloud pieces that the jet pieces insert into are also semi-soft, allowing a tiny bit of forward/back bend.

This is only a minor bummer, as I'm just beyond stoked to have an 1984 Iron Man 2020 figure and I didn't really care about the effect pieces, but it DID look cool with them. Oh, well. At least there are zero QC issue with the figure itself...strong plastic, tight joints, etc.

Anyone else having these problem with IM2020's boot jet effects?

Don't have mine yet but something like that I will put a piece of tissue paper on the peg, press in, and tear off the excess rather than try to do super glue or nail polish or whatever.

Correct. I only looked at the photos and made assumptions.

Retro Spider-Man wave, War Machine, and AOA Apocalyspe.

Dr Kain 05-22-2020 10:38 AM

Preordered the 5 Spidey retro wave figures I wanted from Pulse.

Whooot! Thanks! Got my Apocalypse ordered! I think i"ll pass for the GG for now, he was the only one I was remotely interested in with that wave.

I really hope so. I want her and comic Falcon so bad this year.

Dr Kain 05-22-2020 10:45 AM

So does anyone know if the MJ head that comes with Gwen is compatible with the MJ that was released in the 2 pack?

That's what I'm hoping for.

After those two, who's left of classic (Pre Onslaught/Hero's return) Avengers? Sersi, Quasar, Crystal, Starfox, classic outfits for Mockingbird, Monica Rambeau, and a redo of Yellowjacket, I think? the list is definitely getting shorter and shorter.

Dodge76 05-22-2020 10:48 AM

I just pre-ordered War Machine. Its the only one I am interested in thats up. I was hoping the Strong Guy wave would have gone up but dang!

SymbiSpidey 05-22-2020 10:51 AM

We could definitely use a new Hank Pym in some shape or form from Hasbro.

Not really that satisfied with any of the recent offerings. TB Giant-Man is still the best overall Hank Pym by a long shot but he's obviously way too pricey now for the average collector. I always thought it'd be really easy for them to do a Marvel Legends 12-inch Giant-Man that could work in both 6in and 12in displays.

This, so much. All it would require is an Ant-Man head and a Giant-Man head.
