Do you think the haslab for Marvel will be Sentinel or Master Mold? If it's sentinel will people still jump on it and or be disappointed? I have the MU carded sentinel already, not sure how quick I would jump on a bigger sentinel I guess...

Thor Laserpunch 05-28-2020 03:49 PM

Gotta be Master Mold--the damn leg is already looking about standard sentinel size, possibly bigger.

...and assuming that's true, I hope they make the head removable and able to walk around on li'l bitty spider legs like the old Toy Biz jawn.

What in God's green earth?? I've been collecting a long time and have a lot of 90's stuff and never saw that. I'm not doubting you or it, that's just really funny looking.

He was from the disc-launching gimmick line... I know it had Wolverine, Gambit, and Rogue (the latter two in their spacesuit designs from right before The Trial of Gambit story), and everyone had machines that launched disc projectiles... except Master Mold, who launched little flat Sentinels outta his mouth like a video game boss.

EDIT: The X-Men: Secret Weapon Force series, the subline was Power Slammers

Thanks- I vaguely remember that line but I think I was avoiding the gimmick oriented figures (as much as possible in those days) no water wars figures, the secret weapon force and disc shooters, though I did have a few of the mutant monster wave (it was the only way to get Mystique dammit) and the Ninja force that I think had the light up feature (for Deathbird obviously)

Yeah hope so, saw a reddit post and saw folks arguing both sides that it's going to be another up scaled version of sentinel with possible electronics to make it more appealing or Master Mold...

Oh god yeah, the tail end of those Marvel lines were pretty regrettable. There were some actually decent figs under the Monster Armor and other crappy giant accessories though... for the time anyway.

I kinda want this goofy ass Master Mold but last time I looked they were running like $50. Don't think I want it that much.

Since the X-Men Age of Apcoalypse marvel legends are out now in stores especially Walmart, theyre not gonna stay in the aisles for long because pretty much they are X-Men characters action figures. Theylll go real fast

Bo Ttef 05-28-2020 06:27 PM

Hey, Water Wars had an amazing Sentinel, and AoA Iceman! lol!

And a good Storm in her animated costume (white)

Spyne98 05-28-2020 08:18 PM

And late 90's Excalibur Nightcrawler too! And a pretty good Wolverine. Man, the late 90's got weird. I was big into collecting at the time (thanks Kay Bee Toys) and even I had to step back every so often and scratch my head at some of the gimmicks that were coming out. At some point,we were essentially getting really nice figures with a weird ass weapon that had a gimmick.

And Excalibur Nightcrawler with his silly goatee!

Also, picked up some essentials at Target and scored a Mach-1. In-hand, I see where a lot of the criticisms come from, but I am SO happy to have him that I'm overlooking everything :D

That Iceman took 90s XTR33M to the XTR33M!!!

3 for $10 baby! I think they were even cheaper than that at one point.
I kinda regret getting rid of my Toy Biz stuff. Are they ever gonna make a Ch'od figure again? Warstar? Quark? I can't believe a Quark figure was even made. And now the ebay prices caught up to the nostalgia value.

Depends. My Target still has the Vintage wave sitting around.

I just snapped Sugarman together, and I must say he’s one of the better BAF’s of the past couple years. Great detail on this guy.

Props to Walgreens for opening preorders back up again. I’ve been checking daily to see if it would happen. I went ahead and put down for a IM 2020 too so I could get that free shipping.

I also couldn’t resist the urge to snatch this guy off EBay for $30. Nice addition to my Skrull army. What are the chances the new Hasbro troop builder will be Skrull troops? I’m hoping for anything else, but I could see it.

I personally am happy to be able to skip most of a wave. I don’t think I’m alone on this one. It’s nice they’re doing AoA, but I don’t think it’s worth my shelf space or money. I think Beast will move pretty well, probably Morph also, Nate I bet will be essential to many people and the rest of the current wave will stink up shelves for another 2 years unless customizers find something to do with them. ...Wolvie ain’t going nowhere though, he is legit one of the very few straight up uggo figures of the line since they’ve been in this black box packaging. Who ever liked that giant shoulder-wide mane anyway? He’ll be this wave’s Dazzler. Speaking of, will we get AoA Dazzler? And will AoA Dazzler then be the Dazzler of her respective wave? Don’t think too hard about it. It will hurt your brain.

He is great but I had to do each limb in the tallest cup in my house full of hot water to get the joints to move. Torturous project.

Not sure if anyone's seen this, but one of the Hasbro painters showed off an updated GG head on his instagram, looks a lot better now!

I don't hate that, and I need a Green Goblin

Thor Laserpunch 05-29-2020 07:59 AM

He doesn't look like he's on ecstasy now. Yay!
