I think it's more along the lines of "Donald Harbinger" and not "Harbinger Weinstein". It's more "jokes" in really bad taste and less actual assault.

Or just Harbinger. Lets leave insults outta threads shall we? Good jokes or bad is one thing.....but ill be damned if my skin is orange with really bad hairplugs. :p

I was trying to take it down a notch or two from Weinstein. Some "people" would take it as a compliment to be compared to The Donald.

At least we found out you don't like being the butt of bad jokes. Maybe you should think about that when you make your "jokes"? Don't get me wrong, I usually think you're funny, but some stuff you post really isn't.

I actually own my Home which has NO basement. Try again.

The ignore list here is pointless. If someone else quotes someone that I am ignoring, I can still see the quote, so it's not like ignoring them at all. I had one person on it, but it was so annoying seeing the posts in other people's quotes that I gave up.

I would rather discuss things with people than pretend they don't exist.

It was a just a relationship sex joke ( i mean they never showed it back in the day but ya know pete and gwen got off frame) ...not a psycopath serial killer from criminal minds dig. I mighta considered that donald joke a compliment if the donald didnt look like a giant oompa loompa with bad hairplugs. ;) haha.

And you were right und....that so g was bad. Haha

Anywho seein remnants of sugarman wave.....buncha weapon xs and a couple Wild childs but it is hitting. Still no grey widows to speak up except for 40+ bucks at scalper places. They can keep em at that price.

Not 100% sure because it was just in my fodder bin, but I think it might have been one of the MCU-Ragnarok Thor's hand. I vaguely remember scrapping one for parts.

I have seen many things in my days... yet I have never seen a Streets of Fire reference on the internets. Even now, I think there must be another Tom Cody out there...

I wasn’t aware of the aftermarket price for blue costume Psylocke but I always try to buy multiples of my favorite characters.

This custom Shadow King looks cool. Hasbro can just use the Monster Venom body again with a new head.

I had to look it up. I have seen a stupid amount of movies and somehow I had never heard of Streets of Fire until today. I will be watching that tonight with my wife. Thanks Ms. Mars and Mr. Laserpunch.

To be fair it's one of his alt SN from another forum that he's been suspended from on multiple occasions due to his antics

Dr Kain 06-13-2020 11:34 AM

So I totally forgot to post my thoughts on all these dudes last night. First off, everyone has really nice paint apps. It's like someone who actually liked their job was painting them because they look so good. Well that or an adult worked on this batch. :lol

Anyway:

Jean Grey - Not much to really say here since she doesn't come with any special, but the sculpt is quite nice and I am surprised that the upper torso is entirely new. I don't think there is anything they can reuse that torso with. The arms, possibly. She looks just like Jean from the book, so no complaints here.

Weapon X - Probably my least favorite figure in the wave. His head bobbles around and barely sits on the peg, so it falls off with the slightest touch. Not a fan of that at all. What the hell happened there? The sculpt for the head is outstanding, especially the hair, so it not being able to stay attached tightly is very disappointing.

Morph - Uh... I've got nothing. He's cool. He's missing the knee pads he had in the comic and isn't skinny enough, but it works. I wish he came with some sort of accessory though. BTW, anyone else notice that his cape would be perfect for a completely classic Magneto figure? Oh, I guess that is an issue I do have, his cape peg won't stay in the back hole.

X-Man - The sculpt is really nice and that's all he's got going for him. Like Morph, some sort of accessory would have helped.

Sunfire - Love the translucent plastic and I wish this is the body mold theyw ould have used for Human Torch a few years ago. Everything is great. No complaints at all.

Wild Child - He seems kind of useless without Sabertooth. I don't like how the legs and arms are a completely different shade of color from his body, especially when his body has no paint apps on it to warrant it being a different color. His abcrunch leaves a lot to be desired as he can barely crunch, which is something a character like Wild Child really needs to be doing. The chain is cool and I noticed after I took pictures of him last night that one side of the chain can connect to the back of the ring around his neck. That's cool. I'm not a fan of it being a plastic chain though as I feel it is going to really hinder how the chain can wrap around Sabertooth's arm when he eventually comes out.

Dark Beast - Okay, this dude is just down right awesome. Most of it may just be a repaint of the previous Beast figure, but that doesn't matter as he kicks ass. The metallic paints go extremely well with the gray fur. Not to mention the head is simply outstanding. This guy rocks!!!

Sugarman - Oh god, I'm not sure what I think. He's lurid, yet, that is how he is supposed to be. A shame Hasbro couldn't paint his tatoos on, especially since I feel like he is the very reason as to why there were hardly any accessories included in this wave at all. Unfortunately, due to his design, he doesn't have much in the way of articulation, but what little he does have works.

Overall, while I do lament the lack of accessories and have a few gripes on certain aspects, I really do like this group of figures despite it means I now have to get every figure from Marvel's Flashpoint story that comes out going forward. I kind of wish I had stuck to passing on them, but at the same time, I'm glad I didn't. Just preordered Apocalypse over at Pulse.

With that said, what do you want to see for the next AoA wave? For me, it's:

Magneto
Rogue
Sabertooth
Cyclops
Mr Sinister
Bishop
Gambit
BAF Colossus

What does the figure have to do with the animated series? It's clearly a figure based on Ditko's Peter.

Tbh I have to be in a special mood to even think about watching this flick, but it's worth watching at least once just to glean cliche tough guy quips to insert into your daily conversations.

Beyond the packaging from the '94 series figures, it basically just seems like a classic/Bronze Age Spidey wave to me. Mysterio is a nod to the cartoon though just based on the color palette, not really sure about the others.

I'd be very happy to get a dedicated animated line though.

Yep, which is what Hasbro said it was going to be. I'm not sure why anyone would think it was strictly an Animated toyline.

I wouldn't mind an animated Doc Ock if he came with bendy wire tentacles that were compatible with the other Doc Ock.

Thor Laserpunch 06-13-2020 12:19 PM

Same. I have the Showdown tentacles on mine but I hate that they put suckers on 'em.

For me I'm hoping we get a Rogue, Quicksilver, Magneto and kid Charles as a 3.5 figure family pack. It would take care of 2 really necessary characters.

Then for a wave I'd like to see:
Bishop
Cyclops
Storm
Mystique
Nightcrawler
Nemesis
Sabretooth
Abyss

BAF could either be Sabretooth, Nemesis or Abyss if they chose to go all out with Abyss.

But if all we get is one more wave and no packs I guess it would be:
Magneto
Rogue
Sabretooth
Abyss
Nemesis
Storm
Nightcrawler
Cyclops
Again, same choices with BAF.

I feel like with Sinister that if we just got an alternate headsculpt we could use the existing Sinister.

As for the existing wave, yeah, I think most everyone's loving the Dark Beast. Unless you're a diehard fan of another character, he's clearly the best of the single figures.

Well given that the cardbacks, character designs, and aesthetics are geared towards the look of the cartoon and old toybiz figs. Yes that glasses head is a tossback to ditkos art but an animated styled head woulda made more sense Given the over all aesthetics. A ditko look of character's woulda made a nice sdcc box set though.

And man that ps4 spiderman game is now my new fave spidey game. I still love web of shadows but wow.....this one is beyond badass and i have an even greater appreciation for that legends fig of the slick new suit.

Wasnt his colors and cape dohicky slightly different?

StuartGreen2019 06-13-2020 01:33 PM

After seeing comments and replies here and on other boards, I wish they'd made the late-90s "Spider-Man: Spider Power" Spider-Man mask packaging the box art for the retro wave. I see comment after comment of people asking why Peter has glasses and isn't in his animated suit, why Gwen Stacy and Electro were picked when they were in one episode of the show (and as a huge "Spider-Man: The Animated Series" fan, Electro's episode sucked, since he was a made for TV character and the Red Skull's son -- oy), why the fan channel Kingpin's suit aren't the colors of the animated series, etc. Heck, Electro's artwork is a flipped version of Shocker's art from the old Toy Biz figure's package and Gwen Stacy's art pose is Mary Jane's debut scene from the Spider-Man TAS episode "Return of the Spider Slayers".

Look, we all know it's not a Spider-Man animated series retro wave. I know that. You know that. But the general public doesn't, and I blame Hasbro for choosing the 90s show packaging. I still say Hasbro should've released a retro/vintage Spider-Man TAS toyline last year to honor the show's 25th anniversary. We could've had Spider-Man, Black Cat, Doc Ock, Chameleon, Venom, Scorpion, or whichever six or more characters that Hasbro wanted to make. They would've been big sellers. They would STILL sell big. But I still say using the animated packaging for these comic book based figures was/is a huge mistake, it's still causing fans to post/ask why the figures don't look like their animated counterparts, and Hasbro should've released some figures of the cartoon show with the retro Toy Biz packaging instead. And as an addition, Hasbro still needs to make an animated Doc Ock figure and/or some kind of Doc Ock figure with bendable wire tentacles. Fans are still asking for them, Hasbro is aware fans want them, and it's another fan-requested accessory Hasbro needs to make sooner rather than later.

As for the next Age of Apocalypse wave, I'm betting that we'll for sure see figures for Rogue, Magneto, Cyclops and maybe Sinister. I have no idea who would make the cut in the end, but maybe we'll find out in July with the stay at home SDCC event? Time will tell.

I hope you all are having a great day and have a wonderful weekend. Stay safe, everyone.

Damn right. What sense does it make to have armored DD on that cardback? That was one of the original handful of Marvel Superheroes line and was the only DD version around for a good while til I believe he was finally put out in a Spidey animated wave, but he never appeared in that costume on the show. Doesn't make sense to me, but ultimately I don't really care because it's the figures that count, not the packaging.
