I am working (slowly) on a small Ultron army. That Revoltech is spot on! I agree 100% with you.
|
too big for my liking. I think this ultron from 1997 would work best for me. he's just under 6".
only downside is he's not cheap.. http://www.marveltoys.net/pics/501/5.jpg |
The 4" 5PoA's are on clearance $5 at Walmart now, if you really want an army....

I currently have three of the Secret Wars version ( MU with red highlights ) and would like 4 or 5. What I really wanted was 8 of the Gold Ultron figures from the end of the MI line and use the red MU as my Prime.... Looks like I am in need of two more expensive red versions! Bastards!
No on the 5 POA for me. They are ok for what they are, but not for me. Will post some pics of the Age Of Ultron 2.5" playset of Avengers Tower soon. With some better parts in it, it could work fine. It's ok as is but with some love COULD be really nice for 3.75" right away it needs some small scale stuff taken off, needs to be on a riser (box or anything painted black, preferably with little compartments for an ARMOURY and a Quinjet hanger. That would give it some height and make it seem better. The lad wanted it for Christmas so I got all three sets.... Now it just sits on a corner. Gonna spruce it up and post soon though.... |

Lord Mudd....Sure.... Coming up
Ursa.... I actually like them. Iam not totally against 5 POA it is just I have NEVER seen them over here on the Queens majestic shores. I am all in with the Force Awakens 5 POA and love them. If I should find 4, 6 or 8 of the 5 POA Ultrons I would grab them quickly. As it is, if I get a couple I KNOW that I will need more. They are hard to come by so I will just complain about Hasbro instead! ;) |
The updated (and less expensive) Adventure People set is at $14K (of $25k) with 24 days to go. Color me excited bc I think we are getting this bad boy.

Reserved.....
I will edit this later to put that pic in. Phone died last night and couldn't do it, busy all day today and now it's Tuesday night BMX practice for the lad at the track 45 minutes away to watch him race.... THEN later tonight I will take it. |
I have yet to bite on any of the Kickstarter lines. The figures all look great from hacks and marauder and zica (basically any of the boss fight affiliates). However, cost is an issue, and I could see myself falling down the rabbit hole and shelling out for a lot of characters that would end up as extras and henchman or even worse... Relegated to the bottom drawer where figures get put away and never return. Narnia, ufc, wwe build n brawl, and Star Trek are all current residents. I could see captain action a quick addition.
Am I the lone holdout who is missing all the fun? |
I should mention that a few years back, when 4 inch lines flowed like wine, I picked up practically anything at the scale--albeit usually at retail or clearance prices, never collector/scalper markups.
Joe and MU were always main focal points. Wwe, army of darkness, he-man McDonald's toys, thundercats, Indiana jones, pirates of the Carribean, etc. all just added to the fun. |
Speaking of 5 POA, this Ultron MK 1 is PERFECT. It doesn't need a lot of articulation because there aren't too many iconic poses and the sculpts on it are pretty good. If a customizer were to get his/her hands on this it would be beautiful.

The Eagle Force campaign posted this picture and announced that they will be part sharing with the Captain Action line.
The torso and arms are the from the Captain Action base figure http://118archive.com/images/118/eag...jr_concept.jpg |
Good scuplt but with no torso articulation, I don't see the appeal. Is there atleast a waist swivel?
GI Joe should of set the standard for articulation on these guys. |

TheArchivist said they share the same torso and arms as the Adventure people and they don't have a torso joint but they do have a waist joint. I'm thinking these are the same. Waist is okay but the torso joint really sells it for the much more dynamic poses.
The Bossfight guys included it and I'm definitely interested in going in on them even if it's just fodder background characters for my Asgard/Olympia display. The translucent ones look good too. Edit: the adventure people might make good background fodder for space station displays or space cantinas. I don't know enough about their story. |
If they are like the Marauders, then there is a waist ball joint, which allows turning and some bending.
|
Here is the articulation break down and the vest is removable.

Thanks for the exploded version, ugh would love the torso articulation but it's okay if they all have vests.
