Nice. Are you going to open Preternia He-Man? I kept my moc, but since the prices dropped for him I was thinking about opening him. He always reminded me of Dexter as "The Dark Defender."

Personally, I wasn't a big fan of that alt head, so he's going into the display case with Hordak-like head and helmet.

Bubba304 06-21-2012 09:34 PM

can't wait for my Horde Prime to arrive, hopefully tomorrow, along with my DC figs...should also be getting a few ebay items...should be a nice friday.

how about a size comparison shot of H.Prime next to Terrax or some of the DCUC's!

Very nice looking figure. I'll probably pick him up at some point.

Tiberius 06-22-2012 09:25 AM

Cannot wait for Horde Prime!! Be another month though as I am in Canada :P

Just got him in today. I have to say I'm pretty disappointed in Matty. For what these things cost, there's NO reason his chest piece shouldn't rotate from normal, slightly damaged, to damaged, like the original one. Instead it comes with swapable pieces, much like the preview of Mek shows he will come with multiple head/necks. If it could be done in the 80's for less $ with lesser technology. There's no reason it can't be done in 2012.

I thought it was kind of goofy that they didn't do the rotating drum like in the original toy, but it is keeping with the majority of the MOTUC line. Just about every figure has had their gimmicks stripped out or significantly altered in the redesign process. Exceptions include: Moss Man, Stinkor, Trap-Jaw and Tri-Klops, who all kept their original gimmicks, more or less.

I asked about it in the Matty Q&A thread. If it gets used I don't expect an honest straight forward answer from them. I see no reason not to have included these features other than cheap laziness.

Shin Densetsu 06-26-2012 04:08 PM

What's the story behind Horde Prime?

Bubba304 06-26-2012 05:52 PM

Horde Prime the figure? or the character?
He's the supreme leader of the Horde and Hordak's brother....big bada$$ dude from outer space. the figure is GREAT...love it, wish it had maybe a little more detail with paint aps, but I really like my horde prime figure

I believe this question was asked before. I believe the main reason why the battle armor feature wasn't brought back for the Classics line was because they didn't want to make major alterations to the main body mold these figures use. I mean, if you make that kind of alteration to the main body mold, they would need to use it for more than just two figures. That's why any sort of extreme alteration was never done (hollowing out the body for Kobra Khan, for example) and won't be done for figures like the Battle Armor figures, Kobra Khan and the upcoming Mekanek and Mosquitor figures.

Mattel's going to use that body mold and get as much mileage out of it as possible before making alterations to it. It's why we haven't gotten or won't be getting figures like Ram Man, Modulok, Multi-Bot, or Two-Bad.

If they don't release every original figure. I will consider this entire line a failure. This should have been the end all line of MOTU figs. Exactly like the originals, but updated with better detail and atric.

I don't have Khan yet. Are you telling my he doesn't fucking squirt water??

Mod could be dope!!

DHeezy81 06-27-2012 12:34 PM

Finally arrived. I say finally cuz I feel 2 weeks to get from CA to MI is a bit much. Wish they'd go back to UPS instead of this other company. My order went from CA to NV, back to CA, then back thru NV again, then made it's way east..

Buuuut, I'm happy to have them!

DAMNNNN!!! That would be sweet...I hope we do get Modulok, my vintage one has been missing pieces for years, would love a new one to display! and no...Khan doesn't squirt water, thankfully, I wouldn't use it anyway. When I was younger, yes, but in my 30's...I have no need to fill a toy with water and squirt other toys. I'll use my imagination LOL but thats just my 2 cents. some action features would have been nice to keep.

Optimus Vader 06-27-2012 01:22 PM

Damn.. everyone is getting their June shipments and I feel left out.

They still offer UPS, but the cheapest (Logistics) method is the default,.. you can change it at checkout. On average, UPS is $3-$5 more per shipment, but gets to you a week faster and their tracking feature is actually accurate unlike that crap Logistics shows you.

Thanks for the info! I'll def be changing it next time. Especially since I have to pick up all my packages that wont fit in the mail box due to a beef I have with the local post office.

I actually envisioned some po' dunk delivery guy driving my figures from Cali to NV, back to Cali, back thru NV, and so on. Just circling the map trying to find his way to MI lmao

I too am in my 30's and I don't open these figs & I still want them all to have their original action features. If I hear Leech doesn't have suction power to cling to my wall should I choose open him one day. I don't think my heart could take it. King Hssss was disappointing enough.

If your not opening them I guess having an action feature is useless anyway LOL I have figures I have had MOC for over 15yrs, action feature or not, they will stay MOC. I understand though, we all have our own preferences when if comes to action figures....action included or not.....either way I hope we both get some more vintage figures remade in the MOTUC line. and on that note...I'll have another beer...Cheers!

Well then; "someone call a medic!"

Leech doesn't have suction power. Sorry, man.

You're fuckin with me, right? I can't lick his hands & feet n stick him to my mirror?? Cuz that's probably the simplest feature they could possibly add.

Tiberius 06-27-2012 05:34 PM

No joke. He does come with a net that does stick though, if that counts for anything..
