@sh002 - That Cyclops pose is awesome! That Fleer X-Men trading card of Cyclops from artist Marc Sasso was one of my favorites from that series.

I believe it was in Walmart. Possibly by a creeping employee and maybe someone was looking for an X-Men figure or just scoping something. Some pegs may or may not have been warmed.
These are themes that seem to recur.

Also, how is the next Spider-man wave already pegwarming? I think a lot of people are looking forward to those figures.

urrutiap 06-17-2020 11:19 PM

well for one thing the entire Kingpin build a figure line is crap. Bunch of modern SPider-Man outfits that only the younger crowd would know about.

Plus a woman dressed up in an outfit that makes her look like a Playboy waiter and then some kung fu asian dude

I'll give ya that White Rabbit isn't the best known Spider-Man villain, but Shang Chi isn't just some Kung Fu dude. He's been around for a long time and has quite a rich history.

That's the old Hasbro 12" Colossus from the Marvel Legends Icons line. Cable from the Sasquatch wave is on the same shelf for size reference.

I think you've got waves confused, there were only two Spider-Men in the Kingpin wave and six-armed Spidey is not modern.

The Kingpin wave:
Modern Black Cat (2014)(1979 - Original outfit)
Six-Armed Spidey
Puma(1984)
Night Thrasher (1989)
Silver Sable (1985),
Symbiote Spidey (2018 - I think) (Original Outfit 1984)
Red Goblin (2018).

The Demogoblin Wave
Velocity Spider-Man (2018)
Spider-Armor MKIII/Ends of the Earth Armor (2012)(2018 for game design)
The Vulture (1963)
The Superior Octopus (2017) Original Doctor Octopus (1963)
White Rabbit (1983)
Shang Chi (1973)

White Rabbit is a pretty standard Spider-Man villain that has been around since the 80's. She's usually one of those villains Spider-Man usually faced in between major comic events or Sinister Six-types. She's a joke villain who sometimes escalates into the big leagues when she teams up with other villains but remains chaotic enough to not stay there long.

Shang Chi is getting his own movie in the next year or three (thanks to Covid-19 pushing back the dates of most films). He's probably going to be used to bring in the real Mandarin that was hinted in one of the Marvel shorts and can be used to bring high level martial arts to the Marvel big screen.

I mean, I get that you favor the X-men and seem to have a problem with local collectors and/or scalpers grabbing things up, but that is for your area and isn't really indicative of the overall trend/sales.

Around me, X-men tend to shelfwarm more than Spider-Man or movie figures. The only X-men figure (that wasn't a Walgreens exclusive with all the distribution issues they have) I have never seen shelfwarm in the 'wild' here is Mr. Sinister. Even the Retro Storm was pretty abundant here until they stopped restocking that line.

The only movie figures that I've seen shelfwarm here have been Wasp and the target exclusive 'Starforce' Captain Marvel.

Honestly, only older collectors will even know who most of the Age of Apocalypse wave is. Once these guys get their figures and the scalpers get theirs, the average toy buyer will likely gravitate towards known characters like Wolverine, Jean Grey, and Dark Beast to a lesser extent. Wildchild, Morph, X-man, and Sunfire will probably shelfwarm once the 'new wave' fever dies down. Or as Walmart and Target have recently been doing, they'll be moved to the clearance isle because space is limited and theres a Deadpool/X-Force wave coming up as well as a Spider-Man retro wave while they'll probably replenish the Black Widow movie wave once it actually gets a theatrical release.

Ya'll I have to share my dream I had last night. It was about the virtual SDCC and the things revealed: First of All we got an Excalibur set consisting of Banshee, Hound Rachael Grey and...Amphibious. and everyone was excited about Amphibious.

Then they revealed a new Storm figure but it was her conceived Morrison New X-Men look that was seen in one issue, on a hologram no less of X-Treme X-Men. Next we got a two pack of Nurse Annie and Polaris and the pack was called Women Troubles

Then, thank God, I woke up.

warmachine6 06-18-2020 05:04 AM

so my go to stands are obtisu stands for my 1/12 scale figures, anyone got any other recommendations for 80th anniversary thor comic figure, i put him on the obtisu stand and he started to lean left

EvilMonkeyPope 06-18-2020 05:07 AM

I'm excited about Amphibious!

Dolemite 06-18-2020 05:10 AM

Looking for opinions on the best figure stands with posing arms/clamp for Marvel Legends figures I want to put into flying poses. The one that comes with the deluxe Black Widow seems good but I don't wan't to have to buy an entire figure just for the stand. The NECA one seems a little too big for 6-inch scale figures.

Any brand, import or domestic, whatever, just tell me what you use.

Thanks!

They're currently out of stock, but I've used these. I love them!

:D I mean, I know dreams sometimes make no sense, but I cannot fathom why I would even think to include Amphibious in anything. I haven't thought about that character in years.

FEXT looks really good. And cheap.

If you can get One: 12 stands cheap on ebay, they are a great option. I think canofbeams makes a clear replacement base. If not canofbeams, some other custom parts fabricator.

I got 80th Thor and Annihilus on obitsus and Jim Lee Beast on a Tamashi Stage II. All possible to rig up, just don’t look at them the wrong way.

I feel like you don't actually understand Marvel Legends at all. Do you have any disabilities or are you a fully-functioning human adult?

Harsh. C'mon, maybe he isn't? I know some of his posts are a bit eyebrow raising but still.....

FWIW not dumping on you. You're a pretty stand up guy from your other posts.

It's hard to tell from the way they type and always multiple post to say the same thing. I want to know if they have some issue or if they are just bad at the internet.

I honestly can't tell if they are trolling everyone, have a disability, or if they are just a giant (or possibly regular sized) moron. I feel like it is trolling most of the time.

I tried to ignore them, but other people kept quoting them. I don't understand why people give well written responses to the garbage urrrurururururriripatapatio posts. They don't listen when people answer their questions/concerns, but people still keep trying to be helpful.

Dr Kain 06-18-2020 07:41 AM

Sigh. Went to another Walmart that is about 25 minutes away and no Black Widows there either. Have they even bothered to ship her to stores?

Sure, why not? I had a dream about the Alpha Flight boxset last July, a couple months from when it was announced. Although, from the character selection, much of this sounds like a nightmare to me. Had to look up who Amphibious was. Knew the character, not the name. I wouldn’t mind a figure of him, they could reuse tooling for Frog-Man/ Leap-Frog.

Thor Laserpunch 06-18-2020 08:56 AM

Just waiting on that Leap Frog/Walrus/Grizzly 3-pack to drop. Any day now...

Maybe they’ll be in the inevitable Stilt-Man wave. I’m sure we’ll see them and the Big Wheel/ Rocker Racer two-pack at SDCC this year.

I really do want to know though.
If they are trolling us, I don't need to be polite to them.
If they have an issue, I can tolerate their strange posts.

The "some kung fu asian dude" statement is kind of racist and trolly, but if there is an issue, it could just be a simple statement without fully understanding what they are saying.
I like this forum and I have already tried unsuccessfully to ignore them.

how does 80th thor look? I used the long arm as the base and then medium but it started to bend, but i didn't want to risk it snapping.

Finally DONE, putting together my fully articulated, 3D printed 16 inch Sentinel Squad. (Note: I did NOT 3D print them, I got all of the parts in bulk and sanded, welded, lightly sculpted, and am now painting them. I'll post a vid on my channel with all the details if you to want to get a few for your own collection. Now I'm anxiously waiting to see what @hasbropulse @hasbro does with their new upcoming one. #custom #actionfigures #thisweekincustoms #marvellegends #marveluniverse #2020 #socialdistancing #xmen #customsentinels #3dprinting #marvel #birthday #birthdaygift #happybirthday #customactionfigures
