The Beast head i ordered was from Sculptor Shelf for $17 (unpainted), IceMan's belt was from SuperTom Customs for $12, and ArchAngel's wings were purchased so long ago that ebay won't go back far enough to confirm who i bought them from.
|
Thanks man. I’ve seen the retracted wings before. Loosecollector maybe. Did not pick up on the Iceman belt. Nice!

Love it when I can repurpose something to fit in with the collection. Goodwill Alarm Clock + Slight Modding = Kickass Twister Base

^ Cool. Sometimes I see stuff at my goodwill that I would like to use, but my Goodwill is kinda expensive now... like nothing is a buck or two anymore... almost everything is 4/5 dollars now it seems like.
And those comic pics with the Legends figs are great... love the Spidey and Daredevil ones. |
@ramm fantastic pics!
@redfox nice find :D I turned 40 today so if I don't post any more, it's probably prostate cancer. Nice knowing yiz o/ |

So I had some free time to do a little research because the question of why Psylocke and Fantomex are to be packed with Nimrod just got stuck in my mind. What I dug up was that in the "Second Coming" story arc from 2010 both Fantomex and Psylocke were members of the X-Men and near the end of the conflict Bastion opened a portal to a DoFP-reality and forced the X-Men to battle a number of Nimrod Sentinels. Now these Nimrods didn't really look like classic Nimrod but they still had much in common. That might be the best explanation we're going to get for the upcoming three-pack.
|
Eh, it's a stretch. Fantomex wasn't really a member of the X-Men at that time. He helped them with one mission, and then just sort of hung around Utopia until Wolverine asked him to join Uncanny X-Force (with Psylocke) right after Second Coming. Sure, he was probably part of the Nimrod fight, but just because it was all hands on deck, and then Uncanny X-Force didn't deal with Nimrod at all. There's no serious comics justification why Nimrod is part of that boxset.
|
There doesn't always need to be. I certainly don't remember any story involving Warbird, Radioactive Man and Ultimate Captain America, but we got that box set.
It's likely they were just looking to release Fantomex and Nimrod somewhere and decided this made the most sense fiscally. |
Could also be because the original Toybiz Nimrod was released on an X-Force card and this is just a minor "tribute" and X-Force box set....

Might have already been asked, but does anyone with an Iron Man 2020 know if the 2020 add-on pieces can be removed so you can have a classic Iron Man? I like the darker red and yellow they used, and I'm hoping the belt and shoulder harness are just slip-on parts haha
