Would anyone have any interest in the older Abomination BAF? He's turning out to not really have a place in my collection, unless I really want to try my hand at repainting him as Ch'od (PROTIP: I don't).

Thor Laserpunch 06-30-2020 12:41 PM

I’m a head away from completion or I’d hit you up.

I considered selling the head separate, but also felt like that'd be kind of a dick move.

Thor Laserpunch 06-30-2020 12:48 PM

But then what would you do with the rest of the body? Toothbrush holder?

Could always put a barbie head on it. Haha

I may be interested pending price :D

If you're talking about the newest one, I have the head and don't really want it

Thor Laserpunch 06-30-2020 02:51 PM

Noooooooo god no, the old 2016 one.

The non-SDCC exclusives will be announced next Monday. X-Men movie something and X-Men comic something.

Did I miss that announcement too? I don't remember seeing Hasbro ever say Storm was going to be in a two pack with Thunderbird.

Can...you...imagine...the rage!

Or it could be that Storm and Thunderbird (if it being a 2 pack is true) will first see releases in the theorized SDCC box set and then be out in Target in the Fall.

Honestly, if that is the case, I would most likely go for the box set and not even take my chances with the Target pack.

Yeah, that would be fine by me as well, so long as it's definitely coming late 2020 or even early 2021, if FA Storm were in an exclusive set, it would be an easier thing to deal with. If someone wanted her before main retail release, they would have to pay more. That sounds perfect reasonable actually, and I'd probably try for the set as well.

Hasbro hasn't confirmed it, but it's still basically confirmed. There have been multiple isolated leaks.

There were multiple isolated leaks that Super Skrull was a Walgreen's exclusive too

Benn Roe 06-30-2020 05:09 PM

I only remember one source for that, and it was a stand-alone rumour. The sources for the Storm/Thunderbird rumour were right about the other things they leaked. I mean, yeah, I get it. Nothing's "confirmed" until Hasbro announces it, but the odds look good that this one's true.

Veronica Mars 06-30-2020 05:13 PM

I'd rather it be Storm and Banshee honestly, I get though, Thunderbird is most likely going to be 90% reused Warpath to offset the cost of Storm's new tooling

You know, if it's just a new head and some altered paint apps (like, say, darker shades of red and blue), I'd honestly be okay with that.

Same here. Though he will be a nice addition as a never done before character, I wasn't clamoring for a Thunderbird figure. But this Storm...she deserves to be perfect.

redfox 06-30-2020 06:51 PM

Finally came to senses and picked up the black suit variant of Storm at BestBuy. I'd originally told myself that I was content with only picking up the white version of this costume, but I really have no clue why. 'Why not both?' is a much more fun way of thinking. Here's to that inevitable silver re-release!!

I think silver will eventually come, but it was clear when they asked about that figure back in ...2017?2018? The responses were overwhelmingly White or Black. And thus the debate began.... But they played it smart and I'm sure had plans to do both.

I'll buy silver though. It's funny because while I would rather have mostly never done before characters over redo and costumes (with a few exceptions) Storm is the only character I can think of that I would be happy with any and every outfit made, especially now that we've got/are getting the main ones done.

Veronica Mars 06-30-2020 08:12 PM

I definitely like the black costume more, I swapped the lightning effects though and gave her the white ones from Living Laser

Bo Ttef 06-30-2020 08:32 PM

Black suit Jim Lee Storm to me just always looks off- I know there's tons of debate but to me it's really shiny white with black highlights. If Jim Lee intended it to be the other way then he really messed of the highlights badly (or the inker got them backwards) Storm's classic costume is black- there's no mistaking the highlights- black suit. But the Jim Lee suit- nope. Now Marc Silvestri doing the Storm suit right before the Jim Lee version that is ALMOST the same suit- that one was (almost) always drawn in a way that was obviously very shiny black. lol... But yeah, I'll take a silver Jim Lee suit too just to have all the bases covered... :D

That would be a dick move by Hasbro as John Proudstar is 6'1 & James is a 7 footer.

It was this series that sold me on it being black

I don't think they've got Warpath tall enough, he's on the Omega Red body

Phantomcrow 06-30-2020 09:50 PM

What happened to that rumor that Storm was going to be in a 30$ box set like White Black Widow with a bunch of accessories and a stand??

Also I'm Calling it now , with how popular the Spider Man retro figures have been on the 90's animated style and cards, I am betting we see 90's X-men inspired retro legends:
Storm in Silver
Rouge in Cartoon colors ( greenish grey jacket)
Cyclops in ( Jim Lee figure) in lighter cartoon blue
Beast in less vibrant blue with coat, glasses and recolored grey beast head
Wolverine with new head with large pointy mask, and animated logan head.
Lady Deathstrike ( only completely new figure sculpt like Silver Samurai) with inter changeable long and short arms.

Fan Channel exclusive 20$ set for Morph w/ good and evil heads and Senator Kelly head

Fan Channel exclusive 30$ Bonebreaker of the Reavers w/ extra weapons and another Reaver member head.

I've been rewatching the animated series on Disney +, and Cyclops' blue wasn't lighter, if anything it's darker except on the Spider-Man crossover where all the colors were muted and washed out. It would be pretty cool if they did JL Cyke in dark blue with the lighter shading like the dark Phoenix 2 pack figure

StuartGreen2019 06-30-2020 10:17 PM

@Phantomcrow - I agree with your post 100%. If they did that and gave us an optic blast accessory with the Jim Lee Cyclops, I would give Hasbro my money for that entire wave! I'd toss in Fan Channel versions of Jubilee with her fireworks accessories, Mystique with her skin repainted gray and Logan with an alternate head with his cowboy hat.
