So I picked up Aurora, Knight, and Omega to add to the Nightcrawler from this morning. Guess I'm all done with MU now.. kinda a sad day along with the happiness.

You're not getting Northstar:P? I'm the same as well though, but more $ to save and spend on TF MP's.

quinten182 11-04-2013 01:38 PM

I actually doubt I will get Northstar.. I picked up Aurora for this head swap or trade fodder honestly. I left the extra Xforce NC there though. Already had Baron from last wave, and still just unsure about the hulk. But for the most part, my MU career is over. At one point I owned every single release figure, regular and variant, but after I sold a lot of rare ones, I haven't been into anything other than completing my favorite characters. And I think I'm done with that now!

What are you using for the Hall Armor boxes/cases?

Semi-bad news if you haven't heard already...no three packs will be released according to Marvelous News. Although Hasbro will release some of those figures as single packs somewhere down the road. The video also discusses Marvel Legends in case you're into those as well.

Ninjinister 11-04-2013 08:36 PM

Fuck.

fosterlager 11-04-2013 08:51 PM

Noooooo!!!!!!!!!! The guy needs to get straight to the point in this video. Anyone agree with what the video says?

Haha I'll take that as a no.

wylde bil 11-04-2013 11:01 PM

jeeeeeeeeeezuuuuuuuss could that guy take any longer to get to the point that was a 3 min video max stretched to 16 mins

flipwilson 11-04-2013 11:33 PM

I feel like I just got my balls punched.

Snowflakian 11-05-2013 03:56 AM

Dammit. Emma Frost and the new Cyclops were two of the last I needed besides Valkyrie. T_T

Though we might get lucky and they'll find a way to slide them into future figure lines like we're seeing with the GOTG line having a Nova and Ironman. So maybe we'll get lucky again and see special comic series figures for X-Men figures and Avengers somewhere with the toons and movies coming.

Iceman 11-05-2013 06:06 AM

We better get those 3 X-Men figures eventually. I guess this is why they have largely stopped showing us new stuff. They don't want to kids us off when they cancel them.

We might have to wait until Toy Fair to see what's going to happen. There might be a chance of them rebranding it all somehow and that's why everything's being shifted over. No point in using old packaging if retailers won't order the old. Retailers always want new.

We could also get lucky though, and they'll use some of these like Valkyrie, Enchantress, Skurge, and others in a wave of the Avengers Assemble line. The same could happen to the X-Men figures really too. Especially if the toon does an AvX episode down the line.

I'm just really keeping my fingers crossed that the X-Men figures make it into an impromptu quick X-Men: Days of Future Past line. They could toss in a a quick comic only wave for retailers that use molds like:

Emma Frost - Unreleased
New Astonishing Cyclops - Unreleased
Juggernaut Colossus - Unreleased
X-23 Unmasked - Re-released/repaint
Unmasked Astonishing Wolverine - Re-released
Dazzler - Retool from Dagger (wishful thinking)
And any other X-men/Alpha flight prototypes they didn't quite get to.
Mix it in with some quick movie figures like Logan with the brown jacket from XMO:W + one with grey temples and they should fly off the shelves pretty fast. Though personally if they do this, I'd hope we'd see Ultimate Nimrod and Bastion too.

The X-Men figures would be the hardest to find slots for anywhere right now with the Avengers heavy product labeling coming. Avengers heavy does give us a shot at Spider-man(Black Cat, Superior, Carnage, Flash Thompson Venom), cosmic marvel, inhumans, fantastic 4, Thor family, Captain America, etc though. Even the few Mutants that could fit under Avengers have mostly Avengers-centric costumes(Sunspot, Cannonball, X-23, etc).

Oh, ok. So g.i.joe is done for four inch figures instead of going into the whole ultimate pseudo poc style, AND marvel universe is largely all done AND we won't get all the figures they promised. Hmmm.... Ok, that's fine. I'm fine. Fine. I'm ok. Fine. Hold on, I'll be right back...

Not sure about that...the last X-Men movie barely got any figures out, more so on the minimates if anything, same goes for this last Wolverine movie, legends figures that were exclusive to LCS basically and the dinky figures they put out for retail. The guy didn't even mention about the second wave that the Wolverine movie legends was suppose to have for retail.

All in all if it wasn't for the great packaging and figures that the 3.75 put out, I think I would have gone with collecting minimates:P

Yeah, it's doubtful that we'll see an X-Men line per the previous skips. Then again, that also kind of balances it out some as they haven't done an X-Men film line at all yet either. Only bits for Wolverine. Then again, there's also hope with another Wolverine sequel allegedly in the works now.

GOTG is getting a line though, and there are a lot of space faring X-Men, so that's always possible too as a way to push them out if need be(assuming GOTG has a 4inch line comparable to MU).

So we've still got the scale coming out. It's just a bit more scattered right now. Hopefully come toy fair we'll see how they narrow band it down some or where we can turn to get our fix for comic figures in that scale. (They did do first class comic packs for X-Men first class, just no movie figures. So in theory they may sub-brand something again to get these comic figures out for DOFP somehow. Would be an interesting two pack follow up to the FC packs though. Jean and Cyke in XFC comic pack, now Emma and Cyke from the modern era. xD )

No more G.I. Joe figures?

I'm so sorry to be the person to tell you Ice, they have no plans to move forward with the four inch line at this time. There are rumors of future exclusives and possible limited release opportunities, but no retail line for next year.

BEAM 11-05-2013 11:01 AM

Let me add to the chorus of boos over the cancelled 3-packs. I really wanted that Asgardian pack.

The forecast for the 4" scale is looking bleak for the near future. Nothing is announced beyond the Jinx/Blind Master/Night Viper wave of GI Joe, so put that in cryosleep. MU is being rebranded so it's a wait and see (but the already announced Hyperion doesn't interest me), Star Wars is feeling tired in it's character selection.

I'm feeling the pull of 5-6" scale ATM. I'm looking into buying some older figures - Medicon MaFex Dark Knight RIses Batman, NECA TMNT set (Chinese Knock Offs), Walking Dead figures, NECA Spring loaded holster Robocop, and NECA First Blood Stallone - as well as the 6" Star Wars Black Series.

Yeah even the first class was pre mature, just the wolvy/saber and jean/cyke 2 pack. And they could have easily thrown in an Emma figure there but oh well. No 4 inch for me, I'll get those to my son if he wants them later on:P

That would be crazy, although to be fair I actually haven't been seeing any Joe figures at all when I go hunt besides the leftover from the last movie. Wonder if Hasbro is concentrating a lot on there TF line.

My pull is on the TF MP from Takara and whatever Hasbro will put out for me:) Which is a great thing for my wallet and my son haha:P
