ordering from several places makes sense especially this year. I put a separate order in through Amazon for Sunspot, as he was the one that I definitely wanted the most out of this wave. I guess I'll probably cancel it as I can't think of any easy customs to do with it.

Same, Strong Guy and retro Spidey both through Amazon, except Gwen for some reason

sh002 07-08-2020 12:41 PM

I would have loved a season 2 of Wolverine and the X-Men.

Hope I get a shipping notice email from Dorkside for the Strong Guy wave. I’m kind of glad that they don’t get everything right away though because that would be a lot of charges to my card all at once.

I made my way out to the closest Target for the first time since early March, so I finally got to see the Deadly Origin BW in hand and since the price was reduced I couldn't think of a reason not to get it. The base figure is just a neat repaint, as all exclusives really should be, but then the accessories/effects are top notch and the new head is probably my favorite Natasha thus far in Legends so I'm glad I made the trip.

I just wish hasbro would use better plastic so their figs didnt come from the factory lookin discolored after 20 years

They need to stop using the pearlescent white plastic, altogether.

En Sabah Nerd 07-08-2020 03:59 PM

Yeah the pearlescent plastic can be a potential issue whenever you've got a figure with a lot of it, if it's just one accessory or part then it can be fine since it's isolated. I've been lucky in that any of my single figures with it are mostly consistent on their own but then looking at my BAF parts I notice that I have a Caliban leg where the calf section is a different tone than the foot below it or the knee area above it.

Eh, it works better once you take off the accents.

Shinzero02 07-08-2020 06:46 PM

The way Sugar Man gets put together makes me think they could definitely do a new Blob and the Crimson Dynamo suit Galina piloted.

I don't see the issue. How do you know it will discolor in 20 years?

I said LOOKS like its discolored after 20 years. Basically that target deadly origins widow is discolored so badly it looks like its aged 20 years.

ariellagunas 07-09-2020 05:12 AM

Love that the aliens in marvel are called sleazoids! Cute pic btw.

The fact that there will be three representatives from Hasbro on Friday tells me that there will be more reveals than just the Sentinel. Fingers cross.

Erm...what's up with Gwen stretched hand. It looks like rigorous mortis. They need new molds for female hands. They are getting worse.

As a stylist for donkey years I can testify that Simon had a mullet. Not as good as Bishop's mind you. He was the king (worth of eastbound and down).

Spyne98 07-09-2020 05:55 AM

I'm excited for Friday's announcement too. I think it'll be more than just the Sentinel/Master Mold. I'd bet it everything that they would have shown off at SDCC.

I thought they were still going to do a virtual presentation the same day as their SDCC session was going to be though? Maybe I misunderstood - more sooner is better.

It's possible that they'll do both, tomorrow they'll reveal what ever the con exclusives are and do another one later in the month with new reveals that would have happened at the con

Tomorrow I'm expecting to see the con exclusives and how and when they'll be available, the rest of the Nimrod 3 pack and the Target 2 packs. Maybe a couple figures from whatever the last wave of 2020 is

I'm gonna go on a small tangent here. I assume that last wave will be Venom, or have we seen it all, or has that been pushed to 2021? This year is so confusing. If that is coming out this year that's 8 waves - quite a bit actually.

But I will contend that they likely were going to have a second AOA wave, a second Avengers/Gameverse wave, another standard non Vintage Spider-Man wave and the Eternals wave this year, but all of that has been pushed to next year. Which is fine, because that would have been 12 waves this year. And that's the stuff I expect we'll see during the presentation in a few weeks. Who knows how next year will look.

But yeah, Nimrod, FA/Storm set, the actual planned SDCC set, and Rogue set have yet to be fully revealed, and of course there's still the Fox-Men stuff to show off and preorder. It's still a lot of product.

They mentioned in the last live stream that the Eternals wave got bumped, the only reason the Widow wave was released when it was, is because it was already on the way when they had to change the movie release, so the Morbius wave is most likely bumped too, the Venom wave too probably although the Maximum Venom cartoon is still airing while the second movie was pushed back

There isn’t exactly a reason to delay the GV wave. The game was already delayed and the MLs were released too early, so they could make up for that by releasing a wave in Autumn as well.
