Wow, this is 0 for 2 on Hasbro's part. There's no way I can afford such a huge Sentinel at such a big price. Heck, most of the time I'm so perpetually broke I can barely afford a $20 Marvel Legend figure or two. I am not much of a Bastion fan, but I do legitimately feel sorry for everyone that wanted one only to have today's news happen. Sure, we got the House of X/Powers of X reveal (and I'm betting Xavier, Magneto, Cyclops and some sort of Wolverine all make the cut), but that was actually cooler than the Sentinel reveal. Heck, I'm actually more excited for the X-Men movie figure news next week. I'm keeping my fingers crossed they surprise us with more figures like Storm, Jean Grey, Cyclops, Nightcrawler, Deathstrike, Iceman, Rogue, and/or Magneto in his original trilogy suit.

I think 2021 may be extremely X-Men heavy. All this depends on world events of course, just like this year, but we're almost surely looking at 2-3 X-Men waves for next year. They've really whittled down the needs, but there's still a lot I'd love to see. I'm excluding Hellfire Club members from this list because it seems there's a good chance we're getting them this year. And I'm also taking out more AOA and HOX/POX.

Redos:
Lady Deathstrike (god, please Hasbro.)
Banshee (see above comment...)
Classic Angel
Classic Havok
Pyro
Longshot

Alternate looks:
Avalanche (he could go in either this or the REdos..his X-Men classics look was NOT his classic look)
Shadowcat
X-Factor Wolfsbane
Modern Madrox

New characters:
Exodus
Syrin
Marrow
Callisto
Feral
Rictor
Monet
Cecelia Reyes
Vulcan
Ahab
Emplate
Synch

And all the Acolytes you could possible throw at me, I'll buy them. Same for the New X-Men (Kyle/Yost era) generation of youngsters and those released around that time. Though certainly not all of them. I have no desire for Eyeboy, Sharkgirl and other super gimmicky characters...and yes I realize Marrow is a gimmicky character but she was also an official X-Man for a while.

And that' just the stuff I actually actively want.

Edit: I see now you were mainly mentioning movie figures, but it just doesn't feel right around here if I don't spew out my X-men wants every couple of months.

Also, I'm wondering, we saw Mach I at NYTF right? or was that last SDCC? I ask as I think it's highly probable we'll be getting another OG Thunderbolts figure next year and wondering if it would be BAF Atlas, Meteorite (Moonstone) or Techno (Fixer), or possibly even Jolt. And still waiting on two of their main villains, Graviton and Crimson Cowl, btw, Hasbro.

I'm only somewhat familiar with Bastion. I find it amusing that he has facial hair growing from what appears to be cybernetics.

Starlord67 07-10-2020 11:44 AM

Well I'm very disappointed this was not Mastermold. I get it...they can sell more as an army builder but what a waste of a chance to get that character. I might back one ...but only one. I'll need to dress it up and tell my wife it's a new piece of furniture or something.

StuartGreen2019 07-10-2020 11:51 AM

Ooh, nice selections, @Captain Nash! I'm hopeful we'll get 3 X-Men waves for 2021, and for Spider-Man as well. I'm curious if we'll see any reveals for the second Age of Apocalypse wave near the end of the month.

As for X-Men wishlist characters, I'll take anyone but Maggot. I couldn't stand that character. Lady Deathstrike, Banshee and Longshot are ridiculously long overdue, as are a new figure of Cannonball with LEGS this time. More Generation X figures especially would be cool, it'd be a great way to include new figures for White Queen, Banshee and Jubilee. If I had to wishlist X-Men figures for 2021, my top picks would be:

- Toad (classic)
- Mystique (classic)
- Destiny (classic)
- Avalanche (classic)
- Banshee (green-and-yellow suit)
- Cyclops (70s suit re-release with an optic blast accessory)
- White Queen (first appearance/classic, sold separately)
- Rogue (early 80s X-Men/Secret Wars suit)
- Longshot (classic)
- Sabretooth (bigger body)
- Lady Deathstrike (classic)
- Cyclops (Jim Lee re-release with a new head sculpt and a red optic blast accessory)
- Jubilee (Jim Lee re-release or Generation X suit, with fireworks accessories and a smiling Jubilee head)
- Rogue (Jim Lee re-release with a new head sculpt)
- Banshee (Generation X suit)
- Cannonball, with legs
- Shadowcat
- Wolfsbane (X-Factor)
- Colossus (Acolytes suit)
- Marvel Girl (original X-Factor)

If they'd have to make a Brotherhood boxed set of Mystique, Destiny, Blob, Pyro and Avalanche, so be it. I'd save up and buy it somehow. I'd also love a new Iceman figure that was actually good. The past few figures have been disappointing, to say the least.

This does not spark joy

This post made laugh out loud. This is easily one of the best posts I've read anywhere all week. And I agree, this should've been Master Mold. It would've made more sense, considering the size of it.

I assume he's just making a joke about how her pose looks like that emoji, already seems like she'll be a Target exclusive sometime this year or next

yes. This. This THIS THIS!!!!

THIS is the figure so many people have been (rightfully) clamoring for years. Probably the most anticipated figure of the year for many. We need to see more of this.

Hey if the transformers in the horrid Bayverse movies can have robohair why not bastion? ;)

StuartGreen2019 07-10-2020 12:03 PM

Whoo-hoo! My 100th post! Do I get a No-Prize or something?

Anyway, I agree, I'd love to hear more about the Target-Exclusive Giant-Sized X-Men Storm figure. Storm is one of my favorite comic book characters ever and this is one figure I've wanted to add to my collection for a long time.

Mimicboy 07-10-2020 12:17 PM

The House of X/Powers of X wave confirmation was definately the best news to me. I posted my hopes for a wave after the last fancast event so I wont bog down the thread, but I, too, think (and hope) Marvel Girl would be a safe bet for inclusion. The look for Professor X has become to me instantly icon and recognizable with HoX and the current era so I expect him too. But as for unexpected inclusions the Hasbro team really has a lot of cool new looks or nice opportunities to include long forgotten or dead characters to choose from. It will be very interesting to see who makes it into the wave. Im also curious who the BAF will be. The three-headed nimrod perhaps? Rasputin?

There IS a bit of magic (the Siege Perilous) in his creation so it's an easy thing to accept. lol.

Wait, how exactly does a magical object capable of transporting beings between universes create robots with real hair?

Yeah I feel your pain...But this being an army builder makes it easier to have more backing for it.

Agree, Master Mold would have definitely made more sense size wise, at least they're throwing in Bastion...

Exactly how did it happen? Magic can be very specific.

https://marvel.fandom.com/wiki/Siege_Perilous

or more specifically-
Powers

Creating a portal which grants any person who walks through it a new chance at life, with a new career, home, and so forth. Sometimes people walking through it forget their old life, sometimes they remembered.
The secondary effect of causing unpredictable transformations in those who traverse its corridors. Some combining into fusion entities, others becoming guardians to it or simply gaining an augmented self.
List of characters went through the Siege Perilous.

It is revealed the Siege possesses a semi-sentient consciousness of its own, being able to reach out and touch the minds of those it deems worthy of its power and guidance towards the artifacts own ends. Somehow, Quentin Quire was rejected by the Siege's powers.[10]

Bo Ttef 07-10-2020 12:45 PM

I mean, again... magic... it's not that tough.

Thor Laserpunch 07-10-2020 01:01 PM

Magic is just science we don't understand. And if you don't buy that logic, we'll retcon YOU.

Archangel 07-10-2020 01:06 PM

Sentinel backing is already at 3k

Hasbro's already more than halfway to funding this project in just a few hours. Sounds like the only one that's 0 for 2 in this situation is you.

Boy Blunder 07-10-2020 01:56 PM

Oh, I guess I missed the part about a HoXPoX wave.

Eh.

Depends on who's in it, but I might skip that wave. Nothing about HoXPoX has made me feel it's even remotely worth the hype, and certainly not worth my time and money for the collection. We'll see.
