I'd be surprised if they didn't. I doubt they were expecting this much early response, and are probably in the process of accelerating their contingency plans.

Spyne98 07-12-2020 02:53 PM

I'm betting that at some point one of the tiers is you get an extra humanoid Sentinel.

You mean the Sentinel prime? I'm guessing that's very likely. Even if that wasn't the plan, this thing may go way beyond their expectations, and as a bonus for the huge support that would be a great draw.

Of course, some people may also be buying a second sentinel for another Sentinel prime, so I could also see that backfiring.

I plan on ordering two. I would mind two Sentinel Primes in each box. Then I'd have 4 haha.

NIEN!

I figure if they hit 10,000 they're going to do something to celebrate

I wanna pull the trigger on this, but I have one question before I do: does anyone know if you can change the address your Sentinel will be shipped to before they're in Hasbro's hands and being shipped out? I really want one but don't know if I'll still be at this address in the Fall next year...

I would say give their Customer service line a call, I know the few times I've had to call they're super friendly and accommodating

Shinzero02 07-12-2020 03:37 PM

The thing that bugs me with these projects the most is the relatively short amount of time you have to amass funds for an item that won't even be available for a year.

I really do want that sentinel but $350 by late August to avoid having to pay %500+ from resellers is a bit much. If this and Unicron had some sort of payment plan option, I'd have jumped on this in a heartbeat.

That's pretty much where at with it too

Hulkwummy 07-12-2020 04:08 PM

If you're a fan of the good guy Sentinel named Rover, the battle damaged head could pass on as Rover.

This is a really good and valid point. Super7 was able to offer that for Snake Mountain, and it made it so much easier to pay off. Hell, even Sideshow offers this option.

I’m definitely getting one. A payment plan may have persuaded me to get 2 or 3.

Starlord67 07-12-2020 04:27 PM

Well I'm parting ways with my Watcher and MEPHISTO. I'm more interested in Sentinels now!

I can understand, but also I don’t fault Hasbro for not doing it as well. There are a lot of cost involved and hurdles to add to the price of products because of payment plans, that would raise the price on everyone. I think they maid the right choice. This way, much less chance of flakes. It can be as much as 20% of people using payment plans will drop out and not pay.

A suddenly very important question.

Tier 4 - ???
Tier 5 - ???
Tier 6 - ???

Super Joe 07-12-2020 05:37 PM

Tier 4 - A better / taller MasterMold noggin
Tier 5 - That thing MM holds while on his chair
Tier 6 - Jack Kirby action figure

8,480+ backers so far. Looks like it might reach 9,000 by tomorrow or very soon. I wonder if the Sentinel will be packaged where you have to attach the limbs to the torso. That would be nice for more options of damaged Sentinel displays.

I’m on my phone so it might look different on a computer but I just scroll down and it shows how many backers.

http://www.toyark.com/attachments/59...6b21b745d.jpeg

Someone on IG asked about additional tiers and it looks like Hasbro already have those planned.

They're only counting backers so someone who buys one and someone who buys five both count as a +1 to the total right?

No. It's units sold.
