There should be plenty of space in that giant box for more extras.

Surely they have some extra Cannonball “legs” they can throw for blast-off effects

Need an extra tentacle

Additional Sentinel Prime body and head?

Hand blast effects.

There was someone else that said something similar but this forum is a tiny subset of Marvel collectors out there. The vocal crowd of people complaining about them not having money isn't who Hasbro is going after with this price point. The small subset of broke people aren't the majority who are buying this. While many have lost their jobs, there are other people still doing financially well in this pandemic. People complaining about spending $350 on a brand new 26" piece while they run out and buy every single wave at $150 a pop when they don't even care for all of the characters and half of the wave is a Deadpool rehash.
Some moments I look at it and love it. Some, I wish they would've went for a less cartoonish color scheme and look. I'm torn and not sure which way i'm going to go with this. Obviously with the 7K+ backers at this time, there's not a shortage of people that want it and will pay for it. A buddy of mine said he's going to try and find a way to pre-order 10. I get it. They are huge and will look better then the others scaled in a more appropriate size.
In terms of the price, it's a huge detailed 26" brand new figure. The tooling to create this will not be cheap. Hot Toys are anywhere from $150-250 and 12" in scale. Neca while putting out quality pieces to look at tend to fall short in terms of articulation, paint apps, etc. While the 22" Chap is cool, I don't see the cost being comparable to this and that figure that is mostly all black and nowhere near as articulated. Big chap has 30+ points of articulation while this Sentinel has 70+. I would be interested in seeing the weight comparison between the 2 pieces. IMO these are poor comparisons in talking about Hot Toys, Neca or anything else when talking about this Haslab Sentinel especially with the included upgraded at the different tiers. They are smart too by adding different heads knowing that could sway people to buy more to army build them, even at that high price. That battle damaged sentinel head is awesome as a army builder or dio piece. Can't say i'm a fan of that oversized Mastermind head that kinda looks out of place and way too big for that head. Makes it look more like a childs toy to me IMO.
In terms of the overall appeal of this Sentinel, the market has clearly spoken for this regardless of those who don't see it.

Something this big, if I wanted to go for it, I would of course discuss with my wife before pulling the trigger on, because regardless of your financial situation, that's still a big wad of cash. Because she'd do the same with me if she wanted to buy something that expensive.

It's called communication and being adults. If your significant other is that derisive/antagonistic towards you over the hobby, you need to reexamine the relationship and talk to them about that, not play it off like "ha ha married life am i rite".

One of the most adult comments i've come across on these forums. :D

I've found that involving my wife gets her interested and becomes something more that we can share together.
If you are spending to much and have to hide it from your wife then maybe you are spending too much? If she doesn't get it and you are sound financially then talk to her and explain your rational while comparing it to things she enjoys.

8,825+ backers. It will probably reach 9,000 by the afternoon.

I can confirm that the limit of 5 is indeed per transaction and not 5 per household. They probably only ship 5 together in one order but technically people can have a collection of as many Sentinels as they want.

Captain Nash 07-13-2020 06:49 AM

Well, the next tier IS a female Sentinel Prime. And its only ~150 backers away from that. That is awesomely fantastic. I actually will have to think on if I wanted a second set that would give me three prime sentinels and Bastion.

Not thrilled with gender swapped Bastion, but whatever.

I just can't take my eyes off how quickly these numbers are going up.

Would you at least TRY to look up what a Prime Sentinel is and get some images of how there's both male and female ones in-canon before you post comments like this, that I have to see with my own two eyes?

But I agree, the rising numbers are nuts. Even I'm finding it hard not to dip in, and I'd only be buying one.

Stole the words right out of my mouth (bolded part). I was leaning towards doing it and the incentives are only pushing me into the must have category.

Captain Nash 07-13-2020 08:18 AM

I may end up being down for two but I would have some explaining to do, to myself included. The extra Prime Sentinels would make it worth it. I may wait to see if/what the next tier is, if there is one. Right now I'm still for one but it's getting closer to two.

Edit: update - Tier 3 just unlocked with 9002 backers. Less than 72 hours since reveal. Madness!!!

sh002 07-13-2020 08:41 AM

What’s even more annoying is that he posts the same comment in different threads and sometimes even in different forums. Is he a robot?

Archangel 07-13-2020 09:05 AM

I’m thinking about keeping my squad of 6 Sentinel Primes, keep one big guy as Mastermold and unloading the other two for multiple DoFP Sentinels. A lot could change between now and February though.

Black Arbor 07-13-2020 09:16 AM

I see so many people on Pulse's Instagram complaining that these Sentinels only cost Hasbro pennies to make... Do people not understand how toymaking works? Even if they only paid pennies for the raw materials, you've gotta pay the factory for the molding, assembly, painting, packing, shipping... It all adds up!

Hehe. My stumul-me check should help cut the cost down. My wife and kid will still have theirs in their accounts. Plus I can always hold onto one and resell it later like the Sail Barge guys.

No they don't. A majority of people who are commenting don't know what costs are associated and only buy collectibles $20 and under so the large sum associated with the Marvel Legends name is shocking to them.

Veronica Mars 07-13-2020 09:29 AM

Well if they issue a second stimulus by the end of August I'll totally get a sentinel

sh002 07-13-2020 09:36 AM

Their site currently says, “be right back”. Maybe they are updating the page with more tiers.

This is why I've come to a greater appreciation for higher-cost items, because you can see where the cost is going once you get them. Not that something is automatically better because it's more expensive, but when you pay for the quality, you can see it.

And also why I don't begrudge Hasbro for pricing these the way they are, because these toys are essentially made-to-order. It's not a full factory-pumped-out run (though depending on how many invest in this, it might be close). My only issue is that, honestly, I'd rather buy as many Prime Sentinels (and a Bastion) as would equal the cost of one Sentinel, but to get any of them, I'd have to just buy the Sentinel up-front. At least the inclusion of the female Prime Sentinel is tempting me further...

Wouldn't that be nice. I wouldn't hold my breath though, sadly.

Oh I'm not. They claim there's a second one coming, I doubt it will be in time for this

That's a good plan! If they issue it by August 24th I'll back a second, for those on the fence about their first one it makes sense as well.

Starlord67 07-13-2020 09:52 AM

Well I'm not interested in a Female Prime SENTINEL so she will be up for grabs when the time comes.

That would require me to actually care about the current comics, and I don't. I have no interest in any of the new stuff, which is why I'm reading the Silver Age and Bronze Age books.

Also, I'm wording them like that because it's funny.

It's called copy and paste. :)

I mean, why would I need to retype the same thing over when I can just copy it and paste it? Save myself a little time. Though, if you want to see if I'm a robot or not, check out my Toku reviews on YouTube.

Anyway, while all of this Sentinel excitement is going on, I'm still wondering when Hasbro is going to tell us something about first appearance Storm and if Walmarts are going to actually carry Black WIdow or not.

We all know Pelosi and Trump are both secret hardcore Marvel Legends collectors, they'll pass that stimulus so we can all have a Sentinel :D

Saw this on FB. If it’s legit then news about the movie figures should be coming tomorrow.
