Pyro/Rogue two pack up on Hasbropulse and dorkside. $50 - Modern Rogue we saw months ago -- NOT Jim Lee Rogue --and classic Pyro.

Veronica Mars 08-03-2020 09:06 AM

She doesn't have the new accessory so I'm guessing we won't see the rerelease til next year

Ah, so, much like Nimrod, we get a much-demanded classic villain packed with a modern costume variant of an X-Man. Neat. Would’ve rather had eighties Rogue, or that new Jim Lee Rogue.

Yeah it's kind of strange they went that route. Even though we saw this Rogue already I did figure it would be Jim Lee Rogue w/ Pyro. But I definitely wanted this pack, ordered through Dorkside - November release date on Pulse but October through Dorkside, but i'm fine with either month.

Wondering if there is no live stream this week? if this is the only reveal? I mean it's not a bad reveal, I just was thinking there would be a video.

tierneygreen 08-03-2020 09:13 AM

Pre-ordered. Glad to have another X-villain in Pyro, although I'd have preferred a new flamethrower effect over the alternate head.

I’m curious about the stuff that would have been announced at SDCC under normal circumstances. Judging by past years, we probably would’ve seen around thirty new figures. I thought we might see some of them at that convention in Hong Kong, but there was nothing there either. Seems as though they’re holding off, but I don’t know why or for what.

First Monday of the month is always a fan channel exclusive reveal, no word on the next Live Stream for Legends, but it was May then July, so if they keep that schedule there won't be another one til September

omega145 08-03-2020 09:16 AM

Is the new updated Pyro really that much of an upgrade over the Toybiz version?

Same here. I can understand holding off on the Eternals wave, even though I assume it's probably pretty far in the pipeline and ready to be distributed when Hasbro/Marvel give the okay.

Maybe they're holding off on the rumored second Gameverse wave for much the same reason.

Hopefully the next live stream --whenever that will be --will be the reveal of the Spider-Man TV figures. I'm probably missing other figures but I think that may be the last strong rumor we had until the HC Goon popped up in the last day or two.

@Omega145 - I think the new Pyro is on par with Toybiz' versions, it'll be nice to have the non-washed effect Toybiz was "great" at just to have a uniform look with modern Legends, but I honestly felt like TB Pyro was one of the few TB figures that actually held up really well.

Ultra Seven 08-03-2020 09:21 AM

I just want to see Stilt-Man...

SymbiSpidey 08-03-2020 09:27 AM

This recent reveal of Pyro is making it even more apparent that we desperately need a new Toad....we haven't had one since the very first Marvel Legends series, which is crazy because pretty much everyone else from those first few Marvel Legends waves have been redone in some capacity.

Crazy, right? Toad is definitely long overdue.

Veronica Mars 08-03-2020 09:34 AM

I see Pyro and wonder where the new Avalanche is

Agreed, there aren't many Toybiz figures that fit in well with the newer standard of Marvel Legends but Pyro fit that bill. That is why I find it hard to spend $50 for that set when I only wanted a new Pyro. It's a nice figure but doesn't have enough to separate it from the Pyro made years ago. A slight color scheme difference isnt enough to justify my buying decision. The Rogue is ok but I'm not into collecting the same character with multiple different costumes that don't have a matching team.

He’ll be coming in a boxset with a variant of an X-Man who people would rather have in another costume.

He's got to be a shoe-in for 2021.

I agree with you on Pyro but for me, I really wanted a more modern Rogue, which is the main reason I bought the set.

usernamedustin 08-03-2020 09:41 AM

Is there anyone who wants just Rogue? I ordered a set on Pulse but I really only want Pyro...(and Avalanche and Blob).

Pyro will be the main selling point and I expect to see lots of these Rogues for sale once this set is released

In my book, every Hasbro figure is an upgrade over Toy Biz versions.

Anyway, I preordered the pack, but I'll be selling off Rogue since I only want Pyro.

A shame he doesn't have flame effects that come out of his hoses instead of just the Human Torch/Sunfire ones that go around his hands.

Oh, and I just realized Pulse does not allow you to use Paypal to pay for the Sentinel. DOH!!!!! This is going to cause some headaches.

I would assume so, but I thought I would give it a go. They make lots of characters in costumes I am not interested in, but I know there are people out there that want them.

Nah, Hasbro will hyper-focus on a specific storyline with questionable demand for its figures instead (AOA, HOX). Y’know, kind of like how we figured we’d be seeing more of the outback team and Excalibur this year. I know it’s griping, but man, I really am continually underwhelmed by this year’s Marvel Legends, especially compared to last year’s.

There are clearly Hasbro figures that are 10x better while the upgrade for the Pyro doesn't look that significant IMO. The difference isn't that significant to justify buying a $50 pack when I don't personally care about the Rogue. That's just me and my buying decision. Your mileage will vary.

I don't mean this to be directed at you specifically, but we just got two new reveals, it seems like no one ever appreciates what we get, it's always about what we didn't get :p

Would you also like to direct this at the folks asking for Toad too or are you just hoping to draw my ire?

Oh they're lumped in too, don't worry haha. General wishlist talking is all well and good, but whenever we get a reveal there's inevitably folks saying "Why isn't this X/Y/Z character instead??" :D
