How many people don't have the 5 pack? Stop the reissues and just make new figs.

scarecrow 01-29-2009 12:23 AM

I'd say callous nerds who fear change.

scarecrow 01-29-2009 12:24 AM

This is really cool! I thought about doing something similar with mine but never got around to it..

Runamuck 01-29-2009 04:37 AM

I'd take a single carded Baroness, that's for sure. If it's to fill out a wave, why not.

I think everyone needs to go back to their roots, start boycotting Hasbro for making these sorry lame remakes of figures and vehicles.
So why aren't you collecting the 12"ers from the 60s, Captain Hypocrisy?

trebleshot 01-29-2009 11:04 AM

I'm curious why he picked 1994 as his cut-off. That wasn't the most stellar year for Joes.

I sent him a payment of $17.00 for 2 sets of Moray Stickers I sent him about 4 emails now and never received an answer to any about my order. It has been 20 days if it goes any further PayPal wont let me put in a dispute so I kind of had to do it. Has anyone else had this problem, is he out of business?

I don't think the year mattered. I think the guy knows that he's just a nitpicky SOB. There's very little wrong with 25th Anniversary, not enough to garner "hate" for it without even taking time to appreciate great figures like CP Beachhead among many others.

Optimus Scourge 01-29-2009 09:33 PM

No, in fact, I think despite the few low spots, this 25th line has been fantastic, and has had me full on into Joes since I saw wave 1 Snake Eyes w/Timber.

Don't get me wrong, I like the old figures too, they are both great in their own way.

I think the 25th was the best thing to happen with Joes in a good while. I know there was some DTC stuff, but for me seeing those cards in the store flooded me with nostalgia, much like Transformers did a long time ago.

25th/ New Era are awesome!

Optimus Scourge 01-29-2009 09:42 PM

I can personally reccommend him, he does this all himself, has tons of orders, and a lot of the sets he makes to order. He is always a few days behind on email from the orders he gets.

But, the shipping is very cheap from Mexico, but, really, he charges a couple bucks, it is very slow to get here, but when it does, you have incredible stickers, I highly reccommend.

A simple question, but hard to answer.

Hey all, Does the Wild Weasel that comes with the Rattler come with a stand? I can't find one in the box. Thanks!

It was orignally designed as a cyborged human, with the elbows showing as flesh-colored.

Optimus Scourge 01-30-2009 08:05 AM

No, they do not, the Rattler and Conquest do not have stands for the pilots.

I decided to get an extra Gung Ho at Target today(someone made a thread how the 5 pack GH legs were flimsy, compared to the single/comic pack ) and I opened it, to my surprise, the newer 2 peg stand is included, instead of the 1 peg.

lets treasure what we had from the past.

but

there will always be..

changes..changes..changes...sometimes all we need to do is embrace it.

move on!

25th line may not be the best line of gi joe,but it is pretty awesome!:)

beachhead 01-30-2009 12:48 PM

it rocks!!!!

Of course we collectors see it as too many, but to someone passing by just seeing a Cobra Commander on the pegs and having the childhood memories come back, may start someone into collecting.

cant disagree with this..:)

trebleshot 01-30-2009 12:57 PM

Same thing applies to Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow. Also to Optimus Prime, Megatron, Bumblebee and Starscream regarding Transformers.

Yes, as far as Transformers goes, I consider them my "A List".

GI Joe is much the same, you always find the main heroes / villain tend to get more toys so any casual fan can pick up a version of the character.

Optimus Scourge 01-30-2009 09:34 PM

Saw them at Target today.

Shin Densetsu 01-30-2009 10:54 PM

25th line is awesome and I am surprised it lasted this long, considering retailer skepticism initially. I mean come on, a 10 figure line, made into 12 which in turn became 2 5-packs and a single figure wave for a total of 15 figures, then going on to last until now, with more coming until August? THAT is longevity folks.

The 25th line is the best thing to ever happen to RAH collectors since RAH died in 95. Bear in mind, a lot of the cats buying the 25th toys hadn't bought the "new sculpt" toys from 2002-05, and some hadn't bought joes since the 80's! Now thats saying something.
