i love those pics, more X-Men would've been great, definitely confirms that this show is not in the same universe as Wolverine and the X-Men...which begs the question, why no Scarlet Witch!?

I just watched the Red Hulk episode on Disney XD and it was a little different than the one I saw online. Weird...

hmmmm.... i gotta see that. version i have is where rulk picks up hawkeye for a second and banner hulks out. no words spoken between that or focusing on hawkeye being semi tortured.

I saw the "squeezing Hawkeye's arm" version.
So I guess torture is more acceptible to show to kids than someone hitting someone? To the larger topic, what makes the impending doom of EMH even sadder, is I'd hoped that this would become the backbown to a new Marvel Animated Universe, which included FF, Spiderman, and X-Men. |
i guess we'll see at sdcc hopefully. the news of the show's cancellation is reportedly false but also no word of a 3rd season. ult spidey getting picked up for a 2nd season makes me sad panda.
|
but we all heard it was cancelled.
|
I thought the cancellation was official

Turns out the cancellation rumor is supossedly all a conspiracy theory started by some kid pissed off at Ultimate Spiderman.
It's enough to through the rumor into doubt, but I don't trust the conspiracy theory kid explination either. |
yeah, could be anything which is why i'm all for waiting till SDCC for official news. but i wouldn't be surprised if it was indeed cancelled for a more movie based show. though i felt EMH took a lot of cues from the first Iron Man movie at least.
|
Well, they've allowed the movie to influence the second season, with everyone's costume redesigns (Ironman, Cap, and Thor. Ashame because I personally don't feel the new designs are terribly good).
And I agree, it also seemed to me like the whole thing was loosely based on the ironman movies from the get go. (The following is not directed at anyone, just addressing various things through the thread) As for X-Men, I do think the original intent was that is shared continuity with Wolverine and the X-Men. The writing styles seemed very simular (As one would expect from a coexisting universe). Howevever, not knowing exactly what went down (Marvel may have been trying to get Disney to buy WatX from Nick once the first season ran it's course,a nd Disney wasn't interested. That's my theory), plans changed. Wisely the writers never nailed themselves down to it though. I still wish they'd have used EMH as the backbone for a new MAU, like WB did with Batman TAS. Marvel is sorely lacking in a strong animation presence. They made a decent attempt in the ninties, but ever sense then, all their animation projetcs have gone every which way you can imagine. I'd hoped that since Disney always had a really strong track record with animated series, they might be the ones to make something powerful out of the Marvel lisence. |

Iron Man was in his classic armor during the first part of the season which is comic inspired, Thor was in his Modern costume that has been in the comics for a while now and movie Thor was inspired by that costume in the comics, Skrull Cap was in his Ultimate costume from the Ultimates series. With the exception of the generic Iron Man armor that was used for the rest of the season, none of these costumes were movie inspired. I felt like this show was good because it was a nod to the fans of the comic stories and not the movie audience in general while still managing to balance characters that the general movie going audience was familiar with. The cartoon did use an AI Jarvis though, something the movie and cartoon definitely shared. |
Announcing the cancellation at comic con is a very bad idea. The panel room would eat them alive.

Well, there has been plenty of press surrounding the new "Avengers Assemble" show, so doubt they would have 2 Avengers shows running at once...
