Lol the running joke with me and the kids during the last episode was how nobody gave a shit about Panther's "issue". Don't wanna spoil things but it's hilarious how they had to get straight to the point. The last 2 episodes were the first in over 50 that my 5 yearld old asked who, what, and why the entire time. After the show went off and I told them that was all she wrote, her only response...

"So they aren't gonna fight Devil guy?"

Oh well, all in all, one of my tope 10 favorite shows ever. Hopefuly by the time the new show comes Marvel will have seen the love this show got and keep it simular. As long as there's a story I'll give it a shot. RIP to a dope ass show.

yeah, 4 episodes building up continuity and story line only to have zerter forgotten. Not to mention the emperor stark episode. Only EMH episode I don't like

Yea I was expecting Emporer Stark to be about something else.

ashketch 07-01-2012 04:11 PM

Time for them to launch a coulson solo show

i dig the DNA helix X logo. but yeah on the sides of the outfit are maple leaves like guardian's outfit.

not to also mention some neat "what if" artwork from the character designer:
'What If' Thomas Perkins Art Imagines Obscure Heroes in 'Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes' - ComicsAlliance | Comic book culture, news, humor, commentary, and reviews

yes that pic! Thanks for finding it! And those pics by Perkins are sweet. Now I'm bummed we'll never see any other X-Men. That Cyke and Jean pic was nice.

xhavoc86 07-02-2012 01:28 PM

i love those pics, more X-Men would've been great, definitely confirms that this show is not in the same universe as Wolverine and the X-Men...which begs the question, why no Scarlet Witch!?

Or Quicksilver as well...and it kind of sucks that Wonder Man never became an official Avenger.

I just watched the Red Hulk episode on Disney XD and it was a little different than the one I saw online. Weird...

In the version I saw online, Red Hulk just batters Banner around til he hulks out. In the one I just watched on Disney, he is holding Hawkeye up by the arm, crushing it. He keeps telling Banner to change to Hulk, and Banner is telling him "I can't". Red Hulk says "I don't care" and squeezes while Hawkeye wriggles and screams. This finally makes him mad enough to Hulk out.

NoodleChow 07-03-2012 09:25 AM

hmmmm.... i gotta see that. version i have is where rulk picks up hawkeye for a second and banner hulks out. no words spoken between that or focusing on hawkeye being semi tortured.

Whoa kind of crazy that there's 2 versions out there...wonder what other variant versions they have, Disney XD vs Online.

This is the version I saw too ^

Crazy Jetty 07-03-2012 11:54 AM

I saw the "squeezing Hawkeye's arm" version.

So I guess torture is more acceptible to show to kids than someone hitting someone?

To the larger topic, what makes the impending doom of EMH even sadder, is I'd hoped that this would become the backbown to a new Marvel Animated Universe, which included FF, Spiderman, and X-Men.

NoodleChow 07-03-2012 12:10 PM

i guess we'll see at sdcc hopefully. the news of the show's cancellation is reportedly false but also no word of a 3rd season. ult spidey getting picked up for a 2nd season makes me sad panda.

bmorr 07-03-2012 12:44 PM

but we all heard it was cancelled.

jjk1120 07-03-2012 01:12 PM

I thought the cancellation was official

Crazy Jetty 07-03-2012 01:28 PM

Turns out the cancellation rumor is supossedly all a conspiracy theory started by some kid pissed off at Ultimate Spiderman.

It's enough to through the rumor into doubt, but I don't trust the conspiracy theory kid explination either.

NoodleChow 07-03-2012 01:32 PM

yeah, could be anything which is why i'm all for waiting till SDCC for official news. but i wouldn't be surprised if it was indeed cancelled for a more movie based show. though i felt EMH took a lot of cues from the first Iron Man movie at least.

Crazy Jetty 07-03-2012 01:53 PM

Well, they've allowed the movie to influence the second season, with everyone's costume redesigns (Ironman, Cap, and Thor. Ashame because I personally don't feel the new designs are terribly good).
And I agree, it also seemed to me like the whole thing was loosely based on the ironman movies from the get go.

(The following is not directed at anyone, just addressing various things through the thread)

As for X-Men, I do think the original intent was that is shared continuity with Wolverine and the X-Men. The writing styles seemed very simular (As one would expect from a coexisting universe).
Howevever, not knowing exactly what went down (Marvel may have been trying to get Disney to buy WatX from Nick once the first season ran it's course,a nd Disney wasn't interested. That's my theory), plans changed. Wisely the writers never nailed themselves down to it though.
I still wish they'd have used EMH as the backbone for a new MAU, like WB did with Batman TAS.
Marvel is sorely lacking in a strong animation presence. They made a decent attempt in the ninties, but ever sense then, all their animation projetcs have gone every which way you can imagine.
I'd hoped that since Disney always had a really strong track record with animated series, they might be the ones to make something powerful out of the Marvel lisence.

Not sure what made you think the costume changes were movie inspired so I'll just attribute it to your lack of Marvel books these days that you admittedly don't read. Otherwise I attribute it to Marvel Studios doing a great job of pulling directly from comic source material for their movie costumes.

Iron Man was in his classic armor during the first part of the season which is comic inspired, Thor was in his Modern costume that has been in the comics for a while now and movie Thor was inspired by that costume in the comics, Skrull Cap was in his Ultimate costume from the Ultimates series. With the exception of the generic Iron Man armor that was used for the rest of the season, none of these costumes were movie inspired.

I felt like this show was good because it was a nod to the fans of the comic stories and not the movie audience in general while still managing to balance characters that the general movie going audience was familiar with. The cartoon did use an AI Jarvis though, something the movie and cartoon definitely shared.

Announcing the cancellation at comic con is a very bad idea. The panel room would eat them alive.

But a great idea if Jeph Loeb was there...

jjk1120 07-03-2012 06:36 PM

Well, there has been plenty of press surrounding the new "Avengers Assemble" show, so doubt they would have 2 Avengers shows running at once...

Dude, you ain't kidding! I remember a few years ago a guy was stabbed with a pencil for cutting in front of him for the DC Universe Online Panel! Loeb wouldn't stand a chance, and even though the floor is crawling with "Heroes" they're all somewhat villainy these days anyway so there goes his chance of being saved. Done in by his own bad ideas.
