I guess I forgot that Vermin was usually a lighter shade of brown than Jack, the shared torn green pants and generally brown furry body just led my thought process. I do recall there being instances though of Vermin being more brown, like on trading cards or just in later issues so it wouldn't be totally wrong for the figure to go in that direction. I'd also argue that they're not totally unrelated, in addition to their shared physical traits they do both have the man-turned-beast theme that could play in a monsters based wave (with Morbius, Dracula, Frankenstein's Monster, the Living Mummy, and so on). |
There is very little I’d like more than a Marvel Monsters wave. Maybe something like: Werewolf by Night, Man-Wolf, Living Mummy, Dracula, Frankenstein, Hellstrom, & Satana. With a Xemnu build-a-figure. Maybe a classic Blade if they think Satana is too racy.
Also, I see Man-Wolf as being bulkier than Werewolf by Night, but I could be off base. |

Nice setup @Bo :D

And yeah, Vermin could go a darker color and still be correct, not to dismiss the dual head idea. Of course, if they do all this monster stuff, I better the hell get a Frank N. Castle. |

I already do that, in the costume my mom sewed for me.

Also, if that auction persists for four hours, should he call a doctor? |
There’s a guy walking around Southbridge with one eye because it got taken out with a dick missile in 1999.
Who thought it was hilarious (or sexy) enough to warrant a $40 bid I ask you? |

Funny you say that, because I was just checking the clearance toys on adamandeve.com and they still have the Mattel quidditch broom in stock.

@Ultra Seven - I can't believe I'd never thought of having a civilian Harry Osborn for the retro Peter Parker. I'd love a Harry Osborn head/figure, though I'd imagine Flash Thompson's alternate head would look too big on a "puny Parker" body. He'd need a more muscular body mold. I am also hoping for an Aunt May and there was a YouTube interview with Boog_ACBA and the Hasbro Marvel Legends guys and he said he'd love to see an Aunt May figure made. And even though we just got her as an alternate head with Gwen Stacy, I just want a retro first appearance Mary Jane Watson with a smiling head sculpt based on John Romita Sr.'s art. Maybe they could pair up a supporting character with a villain, like Aunt May with Doctor Octopus, J. Jonah Jameson with Scorpion, and/or Joe Robertson with Tombstone.
I agree, a retro Kraven would be cool too with the brighter colors, preferably with a calmer head sculpt. It'd be cool to see a "brighter colors" classic Kraven in the same wave, or two pack, with a Steve Ditko styled retro Chameleon. I don't know if they'd make a retro purple-suit Doc Ock, but if they made some kind of Steve Ditko era version of Doctor Octopus, I certainly wouldn't mind. I'd prefer to see a Romita styled green-and-orange suit Doc Ock first, as that suit is my favorite for the character and simply because John Romita Sr. rocks. I'd also love an Armani suit Doc Ock figure too, possibly with an alternate "Mark of Kaine" head. (And on that note, we still need classic Kaine and classic Stunner too.) I am hoping they do the bendable tentacles eventually, I really miss seeing those with recent Doc Ock figures. I'm really excited to see what Hasbro does next with their Spider-Man wave, as the retro Spider-Man wave is easily my favorite Marvel Legends wave from the past five years. I'd really love to see that continue. |
A lotta people don’t know this about Frank. Yeah, he parties.

If anyone needs the retro Spider-Man figure, he's back in stock on Amazon right now.
EDIT: Whoops, never mind, he's gone. Sorry. Ignore this. |

@Ultra Seven - Yes to a Rick Jones! I would love a two-pack of Rick Jones with a lab coat Bruce Banner and General Ross or Glenn Talbot with Betty Ross. They could even do a Bucky/Captain America two-pack that gives Cap a Steve Rogers head and a Rick Jones head for Bucky.
We definitely need that "Face it tiger..." smiling head for a Romita Mary Jane figure, I'd buy three of those. For Doctor Octopus and his tentacle fingers (I've also read claws and pincers too), that's why I love the Toy Biz bendy tentacles for Doc Ock - you could make the toy stand in mid-air with them. Even the 2002 Doc Ock lab coat figure with the "telephone dials" tentacle harness could have the tentacles make the figure stand up, especially if propped up against a shelf display. That's part of why the Hasbro "static tentacles" accessories drive me crazy, the articulation is limited and isn't as cool looking when displayed. |
I now might buy some Peter Parkers when they get dirt cheap in hopes of a Rick Jones head and perhaps more.
I also really want this supposed upcoming Hawkeye sky cycle to have a sunglasses head for Wonder Man and maybe a jet pack or belt for him. And maybe some more mini Wasp & Antman action. Kinda excited as it could serve as a much needed ultimate version of Hawkeye while giving him his signature ride. |

Indeed, I don't know how likely a Wonder Man redux is though. I would hope maybe we might get a new Simon with an actual decent effort put into the personality of the head sculpt, both in safari jacket flavor and super leotard with jet belt or pack. Black Knight in bomber jacket is another one they could do. Is a Mockingbird with the flared out classic outfit too much to ask? Maybe in this previously mentioned rumored Walgreens Avengers selection or in a future Toy Biz style retro wave we could get some new variations and needed updates.
Binary as mentioned a couple times recently and some mass release Monica Rambeau I think would also be great for upcoming Avengers assortments. I don't think Tigra needs a figure at all based on I just spent like $60 on her old fig last month. |
$60 for that? I paid $30 for mine and I felt robbed
|
I went to Catholic school. $60 for an action figure is two tears in a bucket.
