REgarding paint apps it really depends on the figures. For example, I found that Scarlet Witches and Iron Fists were very well painted for the most part. Of the 3 Scarlet Witches I got and 3 Iron Fists none had major paint problems. In contrast, the Captain Marvel figures were really badly painted. The eyes were either crooked, the yellow paint didn't cover enough, or there were smudges, etc around all of the figure, stuff like that. Finally got one of the 4 I bought online that had a good paint job.

Not too bad for an exclusive set.

And a new Black Widow abdomen. The hourglass belt is gone, the regular belt is different (and has the hourglass symbol there), and the lines are slightly changed.

Thank god for multiple email addresses and dispensable income. Due to that fluke, I now have 8 shield sets showing up to my house next week. Holy shit, my delivery guy is going to hate me more than he already does. It literally just seems like I finished this bad ass odin...

Spyne98 03-20-2015 03:07 AM

Why'd you buy 8?

I'm glad you asked first,I didn't want to be "that guy"! But yeah, why 8,that Fury body sucks!

Yup. The Iron Fist and Scarlet Witch I ordered online both had paint smudges; black on Iron Fist's head, and some pink on Wanda's calve. Plus the entire wave turned up in my local (Forbidden Planet in Manchester) two weeks later, pretty bad judgement call on my part.

Funny thing is lately I have had better luck with paint apps from items I have bought online than with those I have found in store.

I agree with the hunt being a waste of gas and time... i've been hunting this hobgoblin wave for what 3 weeks now? and i've also been hunting the walgreens exclusive funko pops. i has gotten to the point now that i'm just annoyed every time i go to one of these places and there is NEVER anything that im looking for on the shelves...

Hell i did my usual Toys R us run this morning when they opened at 10am. and as i went to the action figure aisle, same crap is there.... of course no hobgoblin wave but the all father wave was there again just started to dwindle down from the last 2 weeks i've been going there.

i'd consider ordering online but i don't want a case of these just really 3 figures.... UGHHH just pisses me off.

JamesBenjamin 03-20-2015 10:03 AM

TRU online sold out of the Shield 3 pack, so it was up for about 24 hours. I'm sure they'll get more, but it did move pretty fast

Same thing, only time I hit retail now is if I'm on a diaper run :P

Agreed, online seems to be the way to go lately..heck was happy to get some of my HTS order in for the latest 3.75 line!

There still seems to be a diehard contingent of collectors that prefer to "hunt" in store, and while that's fine and all, it kills me when they bash online shopping and complain that they can never find stuff at retail. Online, in person at toy shows/cons, or calling ahead and placing things on hold is the only way I roll, and I haven't missed out on anything I planned on getting.

If there's a will there is a way. Whether it's paying more, paying for shipping or ordering an entire case if there is something I want bad enough I don't let bare pegs or shitty distribution stand in my way.

this!!

305Batman 03-20-2015 01:24 PM

Decided to take a shot and order online, worst case scenario, I return it to store.

GodParticle 03-20-2015 02:41 PM

Playing around with a McFarlane style head. I sculpted this so far. I just roughly drew on to get an idea of proportions and will try and sculpt in the eyes. I think it works pretty well with pizza spidey. Also want to paint the blue part black and add blue highlights like the comic

After reading this, I'm referring to this figure as Pizza Spidey from now on, the same way I refer to other Spideys as McFarlane, Snap Shot, etc. =)

T16skyhopp 03-20-2015 03:00 PM

Uhh, the proper form is "Pizza-Spidey." Casuals ALWAYS forget the hyphen...

:D

I'll put a hyphen between "spider" and "man", but I refuse to hyphenate for a slice of pizza. I'd consider it for a whole large pepperoni though.

Agreed, they may have the time to do it, but I sure don't or patience for it:P

Yup, only other place that would be a pain to return is HTS itself but you just have to pay for the shipping...

Which ones you looking for? Depending, I may have them, and cheap

wolverine2281 03-21-2015 07:49 AM

If anybody needs a set of loose Odin Legends I'm selling a set cheap for $135 + shipping

I didn't want to buy the entire spidey wave either and was hoping TRU would put them online (still find it odd that they haven't considering the first wave was on their site last year). I got super lucky and managed to get them held a couple Sundays ago at my local tru. Considering how many times I was calling them and the overall effort spent I decided to grab the entire wave. Hope you find yours soon because it definitely gets annoying especially when you consider how easy (for the most part)other waves have been to get recently

matt3223 03-21-2015 01:05 PM

So looking at the amazon exclusive is it possible to tell how tall thor is and is it also possible that the head is not final?

Its a prototype so it will look slighty different (it will be molded flesh not painted for example) but mold wise it'll be the same. As far as size, just compare it to your existing Hawkeye or Black Widow in the group shot that's everywhere. Those figures are a known height already

BoNKerS 03-21-2015 05:54 PM

As I wait for the Thanos and Spidey wave to hit Canada here's a couple shots of Hawkeye

On a side note, aren't you terrified with buying Legends online as the paint is sooo hit and miss? I order online but cross my fingers for a semi decent paint job!

Starlord67 03-21-2015 07:54 PM

My Local TRU has 10 Hawkeye figures on the pegs... Whew!
