My heart is very heavy. What a great talent.

My gawd... so he was already really sick when he was filming the Civil War & Avenger movies? Crazy... just so unreal.

Captain Nash 08-28-2020 07:48 PM

I’m floored and sad. What a talent and gone way too soon.

Boogieman4hire 08-28-2020 07:56 PM

Man. Chadwick Boseman's just gone. It's horrible.

Archangel 08-28-2020 07:57 PM

I’m done with 2020.

Chadwick was a real superhero for fighting though cancer to help create one the biggest cultural phenomena in the Marvel universe. He also went to high school up the road from me. Rest easy T’Challa, and thank you for your gift to humanity.

Such a tragic loss. All of the loss and turmoil this week is just heartbreaking.

En Sabah Nerd 08-28-2020 08:10 PM

Damn...
I remember I saw 42 a while after it was out on home video and so then when it was announced he would be Black Panther in Civil War I was really hyped because I like the character and I thought he was a good cast for the part. He felt like a big part of the MCU and that was with only one solo title, so this is definitely some tragic news to end my day on.

Boy Blunder 08-28-2020 08:31 PM

Holy shit. Rest in peace, Mr. Boseman, at least he's not having to deal with that pain any more.

Dr Kain 08-28-2020 10:52 PM

Well this was annoying. I learned that the DCPI I have been using while trying to look for the Deadpool wave was wrong. When I got the right number, it showed one of the Targets about a half hour away had 14 figures. I got there and they had two of everyone EXCEPT Warpath.

https://i.imgur.com/EdTM3Uq.jpg

A bit bummed that I couldn't get the second figure I wanted the most, especially since he comes with the leg to Strong Guy, so right now I've got Strong Guy in a sitting pose on my shelf.

Black Tom is as great as I was hoping and Sunspot's cool. No idea if I'm going to keep the others, but there's most likely going to be a plethora of Deadpools and Shiklahs being sold online that it probably won't be worth my time to even bother. I do like the patterns on Shiklah's purple parts, however, it looks odd that they're only on the front and not the back too. I love the paint job on her eyes. Blue Deadpool is pointless and while I like Pirate Deadpool a lot more than I thought I would, I don't need him in my collection. I've got no place for him. As for Maverick, I only remember him in his mini appearance during the Omega Red arc and the cartoon and never found him to be that interesting of a character. His only cool factor was because he had a relationship with Wolverine. Thus, I'm not sure what I'm going to do about him. I might sell him. I might put him in the corner of my X-Men 90s Omega Red/Wolverine battle shelf and have him lying on the ground unconscious.

Hopefully I don't have to wait too long for find Warpath.

Oh, and fuck 2020. I'm so done.

SymbiSpidey 08-29-2020 12:02 AM

We could really use a redo of 2020 this year....RIP King Chadwick "T'Challa" Boseman

Dodge76 08-29-2020 02:03 AM

I finally got my Retro Spiderman and Gwen Stacy from Hasbro Toy Shop on Ebay. I already found the figures out in the wild and bought those just in case. So they are legit but very slow shipping.

I think Avalanche would be fine as a solo release, if Destiny comes in a two-pack it could be with Mystique since Raven was previously exclusive.

That does make the most sense, they could add in some new half blue heads with her

Thor Laserpunch 08-29-2020 03:15 AM

God damn that one stings.

100% agree. Black Panther used to feel like a b-list hero when I was growing up. The way Chadwick played him puts him up there with the big guys who are known to have unimpeachable character like Cap or Cyclops. I can’t help thinking how devastating his death is for all the kids that finally had a major superhero with their skin color with his very own flick at the movies.

But to have had cancer this whole time, and achieve such great success and become a cultural icon in the process, that’s amazing. That whole cancer thing must weigh upon your mind pretty heavy knowing it might go south and you could die young, but he made his life count. Good on him.

2020 ain’t over by a damn sight folks. Could still get worse. Try to stay positive. This is a separate tragedy, the timing is just fucking horrendous. Especially with all this turmoil coming to a head, we coulda used another hero.

That could definitely work. Mockingbird's original costume was barely there, I don't see it needing soft goods, just IMO.

Wasn’t me but I am all for that. Binary Carol needs love too.

I was actually thinking of the old ass Mockingbird costume with the swimsuit and crazy flared sleeves. I fail to see how wearing that is conducive to kicking ass but it was definitely a memorable look for her.

I want Tigra to be announced already. Dammit.

Well said. I don't normally get emotional in the passing of a celebrity that I don't know but this one definitely stings. His character was a cultural phenomenon and Chadwick brought Black Panther to life in addition to playing historical characters like Jackie Robinson and Thurgood Marshall. Rest in Power King.

So How will Marvel Studios Handle Chadwick Passing I wonder?

Harbinger 08-29-2020 06:19 AM

Damn i didn’t even know he was ill. R.I.P. Mr. Boseman.

Who cares at this point, we should let his family grieve for now and worry about casting later

Chadwick gave an interview to a blog at around the start of covid pandemic, they were asking him about the reschedule of Phase 4. He said that Black Panther 2 was only in the earliest of writing. They asked him what he’d like to see in the sequel, and he said he wanted Shuri to become the Black Panther, like the comics.

I thought it was weird at the time, since it would be the first sequel of a potentially long franchise, but with this new light, I can totally understand it.

Since Marvel knew he was fighting cancer, I’m sure they had a contingency plan.

I can definitely see BP2 starting with Shuri as Queen looking at a statue of her brother, praying for his spirit’s guidance, and maybe a mention or two later of how her brother would be proud of her, and that’s it. No need to recast the role of T’Challa.

RIP Chadwick Boseman - King T'Challa. He was an amazing actor. I read a story about him when BP came out. He bought out all the tickets for either 1st showing or 1st day at the movie theater in his hometown. He took his Mom, all his family and all the children in town. He wanted the children to see a Super Hero from their hometown on the big screen. Good Morning America ran a wonderful tribute to him this morning. In 1 piece, he was doing a press tour and spoke about 2 kids that had cancer that were Black Panther fans and he would talk to them daily. Either 1 or both passed during the filming and he broke down and started to cry. Chadwick was a role model for everyone and an amazing hero in real life. Black Panther would not have been the success it was without him.

Such a profound loss. Hard to find the words, but Wakanda Forever feels right.
